Wish You Were Here Elaine George

E ver was there an amazing poet
L avishing us with your poetry
A nd
I ntriguing our minds
N ever will there be nearly
E nough of your poetry for me to read

G oing to all poetic places
E ver searching for more
O ver and over again
R ight on you are
G iving so freely of yourself
E very word coming straight from your heart

Thank you Lainie you are the main reason I am here today.
When I came here in 2006 you gave me the courage to keep writing.

Hi Carol, THis is a beautiful poem and so true. I agree. So kind of you to write about Elaine. I see her as she lives down the road. We use to walk each day until my arthritis made it too difficult for me to keep up with her!! Take care. Thank you for this poem. Lee

I just loved that lady and was going to do a poem about her for that contest until I thought of another sonneteer to write about. I'm very glad to see someone honored that much missed poetess!!
