Casual Friends

That will be fine
Drop me a line
Then we will meet
Some place some time
For a nice chat
Over a glass of wine
Or lemonade and lime.

Dear Jane

Dear Jane,

I write this letter ‘cause I’m not in love with you.
I’ve also been unfaithful as I’ve had your mother too.
I really sad it happened but I cannot change the past,
but my tears are now forgotten as I know I’m free at last.

If you are now unhappy take some comfort in your pain
by the memory of our meeting and our trips down lover’s lane.
Where in me you found perfection and the lessons you did learn
that will help you get another,……..your libido may return.

If your mum should ever leave you would you please drop me a line.
You could live on with your father and I know you’ll both be fine.
For your mum had more about her and my every need she fed
and also I’d remember you each time we went to bed!

John

Cap Lock Escape

he's no musician
those aren't love songs he wrote
they're computer program notes
I slipped away in the nanosecond
it took him to blink

he doesn't know what hit him
maybe a floppy disk
falling from the sky
then again, it could've been
a hard drive

someone needs to hit his system reset button
it ain't me
some other girl can pickup
his dropped parity bit
or worry if everything she says
is word perfect

I've been through his disk drive wringer
probed by his oscilloscope
and had my best chips blown

now I'm sitting by my abacus
a smile on my lips
he can count me out
no modem's attached to my phone

drop me a line in pencil or ink
when you're powered down
then we can backspace delete
alt control home

the warmth

Dreary morning goes to bright array
As the clouds move away.
Body feeling warm from sun ray
As it brightens my day.
Having friends far away
Brighten my day
When they drop me a line.
Such warmth from their love
Brightens the dreariest day.

A cool wind blows
As the snow disappears
From the bright rays.
Just like seeing smiles
Upon their cheeks.
Musical seranades
Dances like warm breezes
Upon our souls.

A Giggle In Your Old Gazoo

My goal each day is to put a smile on your face And a giggle in your old gazoo Don't ask me where your gazoo is located I think it sounds naughty, don't you! Well now that I've got your attention, my friends Welcome to my place in the Soup Usually giggles with some love stuff mixed in Sometimes I even talk about poop! Censors are always on the alert for some smut But I disguise it with some serious stuff If you read between the lines you'll find it there As I sit here typing in the buff! Hey I just thought of where your gazoo could be If I can just get by these old censors It's just a bit below the centre of your yahoo And it's held up by your suspenders! Well, if all of a sudden my name disappears From the member list on the Soup I'll be sitting here lonely, please drop me a line I promise not to talk about poop! © Jack Ellison 2013

If You Need Valentines for 2014

IF YOU NEED VALENTINES

You don't have to be blue.
There's always someone who loves you.
There's always me, and I'll always be in love with you.
You don't have to be mine.
If you ever need a valentine.
There's always me and I'll always be in love with you.

If you need valentines, just drop me a line.
I'd be your valentine, anytime.

You don't have to be sad.
Being alone's not really so bad.
That's only me, and I'll always be in love with you.
You don't have to be mine.
If you ever need a valentine,
There's always me and I'll always be in love with you.

If you need valentines, just drop me a line.
I'd be your valentine, anytime.
If you need valentines, just ask me to call.
I'd be your valentine, anytime.

Drop Me A LINE

Got a new app on my phone called Line
Thought that it was working just fine
But others said they couldn't find me
The answer to why I just couldn't see

Then a kind friend came along
Said the only way to hear her song
Find the page with the silhouette in the top left
To tap my own name required no heft

Once I touched edit profile
Saw what I needed; started to smile
User ID settings needed my identification
Friends can then reach me, good communication.

Sunday Morning Delight

spider eater, gotta special bond
spider-eating, one by one
feel them squish on the tongue
love the taste of the numbing venom

cockroach eater, one under thumb
roach-eating, oh what utter fun
crawling around inside your mouth
belly laughs, they'll never get back out

sundae mourning de-lite

subtle shift of a creaking door to the tune of
the screaming of a thousand ill-starred spirits
shrieks of the rat, caught by the rear
all those bones and fur won't go down so easy

taciturns of blue veins percolating
blue blood spilling in the heart
a cold winter, it's where the dark sets in
but no one can see with all those ribs and skin

lover eater, gotta special flavor
flesh-eating, drip of macabre
all this thick red muscle
the cold wet meat could use some salt

drop me a line
your finest red wine, ship me a case
i envy your palette
and fashion sense, impeccable taste

you're nothing like the ones back home

(there are not enough poems about cannibals... :D oh and before you tell me to
seek help... oh wait, i don't care. f--- you... it's called "art.")

New Year 366 Page 4

Stars Align

If the stars align tonight
Maybe they won't have to fight
If the sky is red tonight
Maybe they'll hold each other tight
If the sky is red in the morning duck
For insults and plates they'll chuck
So tonight red sky and stars align
So that tomorrow all will be fine
Should they rely on all the above?
Or should it every day is love?

Slumber

Worn out tired a beat
Just want to put up my feet
What a day its left me wrecked
Want to be surrounded by zeds'
Snoring loudly I would like to be
Slumber please will you come to me

Blossoms

Blossoms on the tree appear
It seems it's the wrong time of the year
Confused by winters milder air
If frost should come blossoms beware
For you will have to retreat or die
Spring the time I you should spy

Gertrude

Here comes another storm
So stay indoors keep yourself warm
Storm Gertrude is here today
Winds that will blow you away
Tight isobars on telly show
Luckily only rain no snow

Hair Style

A hair style can make quite a change
Though some might think you are strange
Just take no notice and do
Whatever feels good to you?
Go for it blow them all away
Pretty Princess you did that today

Fairy Nuff

You must have heard about Fairy Nuff
She lives in the garden midst flowers and stuff
If you catch her a wish she will grant
If you catch her refuse you she can't
So if you catch her think before you speak
Cause Fairy Nuff will hear even a squeak
She'll turn you into a mouse soon enough
All you can say is that's Fairy Nuff

Henry

Well you braced yourself for storm Gertrude
There will definitely be no interlude
For storm Henry isn't too far behind
Seems these storms aren't being to kind
Blowing down trees bringing rain, snow and ice
Wish they were bringing a curry and rice
But seriously folks think safety first
As Gertrude and Henry try to do their worst

Sir Terry Wogan

Well it seems it’s the year of legends to die
Another one gone a legend why
Sir Terry Wogan on radio two
Children in need he fronted to
I would listen to him on the morning show
His banter made the miles to go
From cancer you have sweet release
God bless you Sir Terry rest in peace
February First

Let me welcome you to February first
It might the best day it might be the worst
Two thousand sixteen is kicking on
January has already gone
Before we know it this year will end
Two thousand seventeen just round the bend

Chat

I like an early morning chat
A game or two this and that
So if you’re on Facebook drop me a line
Let’s have a chat that would be fine
We don't have to put the world to right
Just chat about the breaking day light
Or how you slept what you’re up to today
Let’s have a chat what do you say

Let's Talk!

Hi!
Drop me a line sometime
A message like “how you doing”
Would be fine!
Better to say something about nothing
Than nothing about something
Either way drop me a line sometime!

for m and d

So this one is for my M and D!
they truly are awesome,
the best of homies,
short talks, long laughs,
that's what makes a friend,
real life O.G.'s,
writing love to your pen!
Though we never met,
someday we just might,
cross our paths,
and together unite.
Start our own race, lol
and screw all the rest,
well not really 'screw' them,
but show them who's best!
Not sure who's words,
be yours or mine,
but know I am here for yal,
just drop me a line, anytime!
