YELLOW IS THE COLOR OF FEAR

in the quiet of the night the owls hoot

violence erupts and guns do shoot

colors become enemy lines that many will cross

another random drive by another tragic loss

preying on innocent lives in the jungle

waking up everyday is a struggle

hiding behing dumpsters from the cops

the cycle always continues and never stops

death is in the air mixed with violence and rape

blocks upon blocks covered with yellow tape

you say that the drug game is run by the blacks

i know for a fact that the white man introduced crack

statistics proove that a weak man will drop a dime

while a woman will stand up and do the time

too be real you must stand up for your rights

and be willing to go out with a fight

despite the outcome if we believe in our facts

and understand the truths

no greater power can one hold over the other

respect few fear none

the dark side

should i tell them
should i let them know
what i have inside me
that nobody knows

should i make a confession
of all of my crimes
and if i really do it
will they drop a dime

everything i'm thinking
i think that they thought of too
i'm so very sure
that they all have a clue

and when it comes to sinning
i'm only just beggining
waiting for time and the world
to teach me something new

the lust of the eye's
and the pride of the heart
the needs of the flesh
invent the dark arts

it is in the cerimony
the worship, the ritual
where we sacrifice to ourselves
to satisfy our hearts

to steal, to avenge, to fornicate
with impunity
to kill, to maim, to imprison
a thing of beauty

to lie, to cheat, to see but
turn the other way
to remember but forget
who it is to we should pray

to raise up our throne
above almighty gods
make ourselves rulers
and that our only cause

now you see the
darkest side of me
nothing new
the twin of thee

(Hey ! what happen to the dark poet contest that this was going into!!!)

A Helping Hand

There comes in life, terrible times
when we are caught in common crimes,
not that we can't afford to drop a dime,
but we are blind to the beauty in... birdlime.

There are poor elders, starving and dying:
so many children, craving and crying.
When will we stop sleeping and spying
and keep the flag of faith and affection
flying?

It's time to honestly lend helping hands,
let's lift the helpless from...lonesome lands.
You are better of, do you understand?
Join the Blessed-to-bless-others band.

I can't sit here and expect a cheap change,
the woes I see around me are so strange:
Shattered dreams, talents displaced,
deranged,
let's keep rescue within our radar's range.

What is the use of those mighty mansions?
A future engineer needs to pump his
passion;
posterity yearns... for our rescue mission,
save their soul from the cot of confusion.

True Love starts the day we choose to live
to grace the world by the worth we give,
love is lost when we forget to forgive...
When needs arise, let us not be naive.

Far Out

Let me rap to you about where I'm from.
Sidewalks are broken, weeds grow through the cracks.
The people that use them are like the sidewalks,
broken and bummed out.

They have handles like Turkey, Louie the Bum, Sand man.
No one's hip to their real names.
They all think they're righteous.
Me, they call me Kid, so don't be freaking out,
no one cares, it is what it is.

All we care about is the hustle.
The next minute, then the minute after.
So it goes.

This, is my school, I'm hip to it.
In these alleys, on these sidewalks,
where no one can tell if the garbage man came,
where rainbows are neon, books are painted words,
scrawled on concrete walls.
It's where you can get sliced for a joint,
and die for seeing what you shouldn't.

It's cool, don't sweat it.
It's another realm man, so don't flip your wig.
No manicured grass here, only advertisements for whiskey.
Are you hip to it, what I'm laying down.
Listen up my brother, cause I'll be bookin.
In this place, pain is a commodity,
sold by dealers and pimps.
Can you dig it.

I gotta split man, before the fuzz comes.
So hang loose, I gotta drop a dime,
to my connection.
Maybe I'll catch you on the flip side.

from john to carolyn

you have been so very kind
so i write you this saying your on my mind
ours has been a special kind of bind
hearing from you helped me unwind

when i need prayer i drop you a line
or a word of encouragment you say it's fine
these three short years i've called you mine
and i still have yet to wine and dine

for this to end would be a crime
so don't let me have to drop a dime
lets keep this thing for all time
i'm just about to run out of rhyme

Untrue Love

Untrue Love free me from your chains
I refused to be locked away
                                 Walking down death row
For a crime I did not commit
My last meal I refuse to submit
                                   You planted my prints
On a weapon of a tragic Love
                                       Of my innocence
                                             I insist
                                     My plea unchanged
It must be proven I was framed
                                            Coerced
For what was not my first
                                            Attempt
                                       I'll drop a dime
                                        I did let him in
                                  With his alluring Scent
                                 Sense of words to please
His hat drenched in candy rain
                                Pierced within the wrapper
                                        Since that day
Things have never been the same
                                          Untrue Love
                                                Aids

Thug

When a push comes to a shove
And ministers still preach and promise love
Never put your piece down put your piece down and hold your peace now thug
Give me my condolences to the hypocrites and bugs
Leopards resonating while chasing Kellogg's
Tripping on scatter rugs
Grandma said boy pull up them draws
Only rich men makeup laws
When a push comes to a shove
And ministers still preach and promise love
Never put your piece down put your piece down and hold your peace now Thug
Wonder if the CIA has me bugged my daddy never gave me a hug
mama where is the love where is the love double dip says man that ain't hit bra
Yo if I'm watching me who's watching you duh
Icy Hot vanilla shakes in a mug
Martial Arts Sweet Tarts drop a dime on me it smarts woo woo oh
When a push comes to a shove
And the ministers still preach and promise love
Caramel apple raisin stallion wonder if being born again really matters
Gave up sin and I joined a gym
What's my name it ain't Village Jim
Life in my stomach just keep on Bubble bubbling
Like a river in a fountain like a beacon on an ocean
When a push comes to a shove
A minister still preach and promise love
Never put your piece down put your piece down and hold your peace now Thug
Violence and violence don't mix
Thyme fo you and your Posse to hit the bricks
Come on J E give me some riffs
This passionate mix makes me sick
Don't want to win or lose all I want is peace and Trues
Caveat Coco man Nissan cruising
All I need is Old Spice on my old man's shirt by Van Husain
Kris Cross wears a cross what you know about Jesus
Been being Spin blend hallelujah amen
When a push comes to a shove
Never put your piece down put your piece down and hold your peace now

Cap'n Save 'Em

He always got a Fantastic Four story to tell,
like how yesterday
        he Stretch saved
all those people from dying
When he ran into the Torch-ed, burning building
		      before it fell

Another urban legend that he loves to spin:
said he school hall walked into a death hail of bullets
that an automatic weapon was rapid firing
Professed he had no Avenger fear,
as he moved closer without any Hulk body armor on
And his trusty Iron Man repulsor sidearm
was taking a gun nap snooze in a no-parking tow zone
But still he courageously Spidey web pressed on,
and made a superhero arrest with his Peter Parker gadget phone
How he Thor-oughly engaged and Vision outsmarted the gunman
is still a Big Mac with Swiss cheese mystery ...
		so many holes —
Every dazed survivor telling a different story,
and the only thing being told with the same dramatic flair:
			If he was there,
then he must have ghost-cloaked disappeared into thin air

Some newspaper hack
coined him: “Captain Save ‘Em,”
and instantly he liked the sound of the name
Still, he shortened it a bit,
to add a little more crunch
“Cap’n” was a serial article America sensation
This media munch captured
         the nation’s
curious imagination

Tho’ no one ever saw him in action before,
		his tweet boasts
just couldn’t be ignored
Had the best secret identity,
		his press secretary sez
He could hide in plain sight,
and no one should ever suspect
Now, who would believe,
Cap’n Save ‘Em was the prez?!

Tho’ no one ever saw him in action before
His archenemies mock: Saying Cap’n Save ‘Em
	        talks America tough,
like a Ben Grimm action-hero doll toy
	  But “The Thing” is,
his name should really be “Invisible Boy”

Cap’n Save ‘Em ...
always a day late and a few dollars short
Cap’n Save ‘Em ...
no credible witnesses on the police report —
‘Cause no one ever saw him in action before

Cap’n said he coulda shield saved you,
if only you had sent out an SOS tweet distress,
with the Trump trademark call sign: $$$
$how some Mo’ money, $mo’ money ... $mo’ money
Pay in advance,
and you don’t have to drop a dime
Cap’n Save ‘Em will get there
before there’s an actual seen crime

But if the payment is late,
      Cap’n Save ‘Em
		always seems to get there,
just as the smoke settles and clears ...
      Cap’n Save ‘Em,
the prez says: can’t be in two places at once
Especially, when there might not be cheers ...
definitely, where there will be jeers

COMMUNICATION

no one calls, no talk
and letter writing who writes
comunication

I drop a dime in
into the dial pay phone booth
pick up please no talk

silence becomes gold
in the quietness riches

Something To Walk On

If love were a staircase would you take it one step at a time? Probably not, you just walk all over it like you do mine. And if love were a crime would you break the law, would you drop a dime and say what you saw, when you look in my eyes. Would you tell me the truth, when I ask for the truth? Or would you lie to my face the way you normally do. Now I know I'm not perfect, never have been, never will be. I made some pretty nasty mistakes. Yes for so much I am guilty. But that doesn't mean that I meant it and nothing feels worse, than to know that it's my actions that has left a loved one hurt. I feel like dirt , like a piece of trash. And maybe that's why you treat my love like grass. Just something to walk on, something thats way below you. But that's so dangerous to walk on like an untied shoe. So what should I do, just lay down flat? I'm powerless plus to you I'm just your welcome mat. Its cowardice, the way I act when it comes to you. Your ground is my back, so walk on thru. Step over my shoulders and jump on my heart. Lie to my face, go ahead and tare me apart. Break me down, it's what you do best. Just walk all over me, til there's nothing left.

No Time

No time he spends with us
He says because I fuss,
Fuss that is all I do
But he knows, I'm telling the truth.

The truth the don't want to hear
So he says, I'm fixing to do dear,
I'll be gone for a little while
Until you stop acting like a child.

He don't spend time with us like he should
But you know that's all good,
Words he way that's just a phase
Watch it, God will soon shorten his days.

He claims he's broke and broke all the time
I hope he don't think i'm going to believe that line,
Believe that line that's what he thought
I don't really care that's his fault.

If only he would spend time with us
Then I wouldn't keep up so much fuss,
Then I don't have to drop a dime
If only he would spend a little time.

People in my business

A many a people in my business, many a people indeed,
many haters hiding in the trenches and they dont even know me,
they wasn't around for my sickness, wasn't around for the struggle,
they wasn't around when i was homeless, wasn't around for my troubles,
up in my peoples face, like they was there for the sloth,
they getting tested and they dont even know know it, they need an award,
holla, holla, need a dollar, drop a dime in a bucket, I cut em off quick,
with the quickness, i don't know you like bump it,
all the Judas's and harlots and dragons beasting around me,
i came in the door blessed, and you acting like you found me,
they dirty cant have been cleaned up with downey, cant be cleaned up with bleach,
I represent Christ and it is the truth that I preach.
