Best Disastrous Poems
One ice cream sundae
Swirled with whipped cream and a cherry on the top
Sitting temptingly in a tall glass
But you were out of reach
I could see you through the window of the restaurant
Melting away in front of my eyes
Like your life was ebbing away from you
With creamy liquid tears running down the side of the glass
Over time the cherry sank deeper into the velvety fluid
Until it disappeared into the thick goo
It’s blushing red cheek barely visible at the bottom of the goblet ...

RACISM, A DISASTROUS ELEMENT
I look at the world horrifically,
With depression and disgust,
As the masses enjoys in poverty
And fear.
I look at the world horrifically.
Every places, full of stratification,
And unlawful massacre of people.
Hmmm! What a cruel universe!
I look at the world horrifically.
Yesterday, raping and killing,
Today, racism,
Tomorrow, i guess something deadly and disastrous.
I look at the world horrifically.
Segregation among the whites,
Segregation among the blacks.
Weirdest part, segregation between the black and the whites.
I look at the world horrifically,
Stratification among the blacks, i called "tribalism ".
Hatred, i called among the whites.
Disunity rules.
I look at the world horrifically,
As our ancestors in great slumber.
With no hope of fortune.
Crying, segregation of the highest bidder.

A cute guy called James once asked me on a date
He rang me the next day said could he bring his mate
A blind date – oh I’d see if my best mate Jen would come
It might be a disaster then again it could turn out to be fun
Jen and I got ready and wore our pretty dresses
Make up was applied and we brushed our lovely tresses
We met the guys in a bar and how my face fell
No thought of their attire but at least they didn't smell!
James wore a white shirt with buttons sewn on with different cotton
He hadn't made an effort any chance of romance was soon forgotten
I turned around and I had a good look at his best mate Neil
He had a massive scar across his face it made me want to squeal
In the past he been in trouble and had got into a brawl
Some one had slashed his face – not a good thing at all
We sat and had a drink and I looked at my mate Jen
Had hoped for romance – but it wouldn't be with them
Jen and I went off to the loo together (the way that ladies do)
Tried to hatch an escape plan, the lads didn't have a clue
Went back to the bar and soon it was time to leave
Hoped they wouldn't try to kiss us, the idea made us heave
We hurried out of the bar our bus we didn't want to miss
Jen and I climbed the steps of the bus together to avoid a kiss
Sat on the bus and laughed at our awful night
Never heard from James again - our chemistry wasn't right!
A fun tale on Poetry Soup of Jan and Jen flying the coop.
This really is a true story from when I was about 18 years old – the most hilarious thing was the two of us trying to get up the steps of the bus together and almost falling over eachother in the process!

The Disastrous Traffic Stop
By Elton Camp
To pull over quickly Robert didn’t fail
Just as soon as he saw a cop on his tail
“Sir, you exceeded the speed limit, I fear.
That is the reason I pulled you over here.”
Robert gave the office a sheepish grin
“My radar detector wasn’t plugged in.
Hey, man, you have to be on the take.
Shouldn’t a cop be in better shape?”
The cop said, “Hand your license here.”
“I can’t reach it unless you hold my beer.”
As the riot act the mad cop to Robert read:
“You too dumb for McDonald’s instead?”
The cop then asked why he drove so fast
“A well-patrolled area I was trying to get past.”
And I was also running pretty far behind
For my crack delivery the boss did assign.”
“You’re not going to check the trunk are you?
If so, then of being courteous I am through.”
“Hey, is your rod a nine millimeter gun?
This 44 magnum in my hand is more fun.”
You've no choice
What will be will be
So a greedy and cruel person
Strive for the most
Before it's too late
Maybe this is the reason
Why people are careless
Obstinate and cruel
But no matter who decides your future
You ought to be reasonable
Because you love God
Who is the Creator
Because you love the earth
You live on
Because you love your family
Whom you stay with so long
Any consequence is disastrous
Any revenge is cruel
Scares me,
this loop of haunting love;
What will it really be?
Part black crow part white dove
fire burns absolutely;
Brooding;
I need to say goodbye,
unwanted fears crowning;
Buried horrors are sly
on a slow drip weeping;
Bad dreams,
toxic smoke wakes me up;
My mind goes to extremes
showing crazy closeup;
Unzipped disastrous themes.
Throne of lunacy
tyrannical misbehavior
unseal your lids
view the fruits of your labor
a country corrupt
blind leading the blind
the fall of a nation
our fates all entwined
Political satisfaction
empowered a rising beast
the world sleeps unsuspecting
while sands roll in from the east
false label cunning kindness
truly clever manipulation
negligence of humantiy
creates disastrous situations

Rise, pale disastrous moon!
What is love, but a heightened effect
of time, light and distance?
Did you burn once,
before you became
so remote, so detached,
so coldly, inhumanly lustrous,
before you were able to assume
the very pallor of love itself?
What is the dawn now, to you or to me?
We are as one,
out of favor with the sun.
We would exhume
the white corpse of love
for a last dance,
and yet we will not.
We will let her be,
let her abide,
for she is nothing now,
to you
or to me.
