Best Depths Poems
When she walked by my side on a lonely road
And took me to the other side, much more verdant,
Through the barren lands of scorched desert,
Clueless I was about the paradigm of love.
If only had I asked, she would’ve taken me there
Into the sunshine from darkened shadows,
From the juncture of fears and saddened tears.
But I remained silent when it was time to speak
Choosing to not tell her how much I loved her
As I held the distance between bliss and sorrow,
When impulsively I veered in the wrong direction.
And I never saw the pastures beyond the hills
Or beauty of the terrain past the river bend.
Going where feckless ages have gone before
Embarking upon a path well-traveled
Ignoring pretty flowers in unkempt meadows.
Yet, she came to rescue at the edge of my angst
From caveats of today, cautions of tomorrow,
Standing with me in the midst of winter-storm
Promising spring flowers in colors of fall.
I saw the blossoms that were about to bloom
And blush on horizon hinting of the rising sun
And I heard the tempo of a concert on piano,
While roiled in turmoil of the unsaid, the unwritten,
Hidden within the depths of my vacant soul;
Incapable of voicing what the silence evoked.

In order to obtain true freedom in our lives
Close your eyes and see the light of an angel
Wondering what this life is really all about
That it will guide you to a brighter place without turns
Thoughts about the night with a last kiss will be my end
As night becomes desperate to sleep
Tenderly rocked in your loving arms
Seduced by the dark side hiding ghosts roam
Desperation within hopeless pleas, the angel wings are broken
After walking on coals fired inside aches burning
It hurts so bad, the emotions of losing control
Show me the way love in true heavenly beauties charm
Let's break the chains burning without fire
In your power shines a beacon starlight
The pain, the demons leave inside causing our sins
Strong within it's beam pierces through the gates of hell
I can hardly breathe, in this dream where nobody dies
Forgiving past sins kisses everything better
The eyes are not blind, a rainbow of sorrow shines
Breaking free from chains of a pain linked curse
Could it be we have chosen exactly the right words of love
I am not your resistance building castles in the sky without storms
Born in the republic swept a\way within a dream swept away
I'll walk with you through the age of eternities golden gate bridge

The Deepest Depths Of Epic Pain
The scars of life unveil the weight of lies,
lest it be the torment of moral sin,
wherein the guiltless suffer wounds and cries
of love’s deceit as heartless notions win.
The evil whims of wicked fancy shows
no mercy for those crossed by hands of fate
when magic dreams are cast by darkened clouds
which turns the morbid sorrow into hate.
In rage of fervor, passion's zeal is lost,
oft destroyed by life's dire tribulations,
as sunning rays vacates dawn's gleaming frost
human frailties blind truth's revelations.
Within hope destroyed and life's darkest stain
remains the deepest depths of epic pain.

Beside the surf she lay, a heap
Of broken hope, like bones, now crushed
And burning lips, forever hushed.
From eyes to sea, her briny weep
Gave solemn witness to her fears
The love now draining with her tears.
Thus bled her heart into the deep
With love that spoiled in other arms
Abiding not its throbbing harms.
To there, perhaps, imbue it sleep
For pain was all that coursed within
Yet fathoms, black, would drown its sin
Or dark and still, its secrets, keep
A passion's crime that stained her red
Her love, his lover ... cold and dead.
Beside the surf she lay, a heap
From eye to sea, her briny weep
Thus bled her heart into the deep
To there, perhaps, imbue it sleep
Or dark and still, its secrets, keep.

I do not want sweet pretty poems
Of unmarked sky where fancies roam
Give me the bones of ghosts to haunt
Sweet pretty poems, I do not want
I've had enough of gilded gold
Whose pretense of value is sold
Until blunt plainness calls its bluff
Of gilded gold, I've had enough
My bent soul knows dark luscious gloom
Exotic agony which blooms
In savage tears of volcanoes
Dark luscious gloom, my bent soul knows
In want I wait for depths of moon
Alluring beyond shallow noon
Mystique only midnight creates
For depths of moon, in want I wait.

Into the depths of my soul, I searched once
The happiest day of my life, to find
Difficult to locate wasn't at all
For was the day that love our hearts enshrined!

United In The Depths Of Love's Ravenously Sweet Ardor
I
do not
cry,
this pain
soul deep stings the weeping heart
burns so very
intensely
the memories
the perished and
heartfelt sweetness
of Love's cherished
truths,'
the precious moments
the cool breeze,
the heights of adore
the feverish touch
of your lips
our nights of lovemaking
and sweetest morns
of my waking
with you,
your tangled blonde
hair and sultry lips
and that dawn's
ravishing smiles
upon our dynamic
new love, upon
our dynamite kisses
and our just being
we two.....
the truth
the passion,
heated waves
in our ocean where passion
burns so
very brightly
and its heart beats
for us, in tune with life
singing
to our two hearts
wedded, asking
only
each other
and begging
for more
days
and nights
welded
together
as
united souls
with
appetites
for love
and hungry
forever
for each
other
darling
you and I
stand
against the pains
of this dark
and bleak world
with nights
of sweet ardor
and days
of purest delights
wedded
hearts, spirits and
sensual minds
together,
you and I......

From The Saddest Depths Of Bitter Despair
Within this heart love born
once beloved now scorn
fills each little crevice
life seems out of service
bitter cold turns the wind
dark sets its pains to send
Alas! Loneliness reaps
broken shards into heaps
while moonlight will not shine
on these blues I now dine
and the aches seem endless
here, I am now friendless
dark on this soul assails
nobody hears my wails
In this chasm I soft weep
So, so cold, dark and deep
Within this heart love born.
Once beloved, now scorn.
R.J. Lindley,
Dark rhyme
( From, In for a penny, in for a pound )
Oh, golden heart, speak now in love's embrace,
surrender to the passions, thy words convey,
take mine hand, within dream's endeavour,
within thy golden heart, images of love arrayed.
I swim through gentle chambers, of passion's flame,
mine soul, ever to sing in joyous praise,
oh beloved heart, that doth make my desire's, true light,
shine golden in thy depths, through love's passionate breath.
Divine thou doth shine, within star's brocade of lace,
oh, heart that sings love's joys, thy depths sublime,
I lay mine head within thy golden love,
now, within thy heart's dreams, I rest in love's repose.
Within thy heart, desires ever displayed,
thy glory shines, as doth the golden sun,
golden the dreams, that we shall ever share,
deep within the great depths of thy heart.
And With Tantalizing Depths Found We Paint Beauty Divine
I walked into blazing inferno, heart so ready
My soul so positive, this old heart beating so steady
Rhythm and rhyme bursting so like a balloon to get out
Energy in these veins pouring verses like water spout
And an eager spirit, speaking of life, dear love and hope
Warning of this world's deepest darkness and its savage scope
But mixed in is heart's mercies and a ton, so much more
Poets know this, and that is why to Heavens they implore
Celestial guidance and a rare, gifted word or two
O' mighty lord so we dare beg thee that thy hand will do
Allow us to cast the fine words that makes our spirits soar
Open up senses and poetry flows through golden doors.
And with tantalizing depths found, we paint beauty divine.
Drink we fruit of our words like great and true, fine tasting wine!

can we touch
on sheets of white
where passion unfolds
between the lines?
i linger there
in the ink
of dreams
as i stumble
upon the whispers
of thoughts
through lips
as they kiss
in depths
of metaphors
a pulse
within the words
silently beats
in the chambers
of my heart
a melody
as stanzas fall
softly upon
soul's walls
in the flickers
of touch
i become breathless
in the climax
a top these sheets
in the depths
of poetry
The winter night in Kachikau does not offer a gentle frost;
It drops like an iron sheet across the unpowered cattle posts.
And I am buried alive in the familiar dust,
Wandering the perimeter of a village that sleeps while I disintegrate.
The stars above the Chobe sky offer no map, no light;
They are just cold, distant eyes watching a man lose his grip.
My own chest became the traitor that signed the contract.
It traded my sanity for a handful of plastic illusions,
Hurling me into a darkness so heavy, the local clay refuses to absorb it.
Psychologically, the skin still walks, but the inside is a carcass.
I am a hollow gourd left out in the sun until it cracks,
Stumbling down the unpaved roads, dragging the wreckage of my own name.
My thoughts look like the red mud after a slaughter,
A mind reduced to the cold white ash of a fire that ran out of wood.
There is no clinic in the district that stocks a cure for this type of rot,
No traditional elder who can read the ledger of a ruined soul.
I just carry the weight, step by heavy step, into the dark,
Knowing the soil beneath my feet keeps the receipt of everything I lost.
Let your imagination take a dive
Dismiss those voices willing it to soar,
Explore the secrets hidden to mankind
And gaze at sights you've never seen before.
Take a deep breath then silently descend;
Leave restless shores and anxious thoughts behind.
Deep in the fearless ocean's azure realm,
Enchanted landscapes captivate your mind.
A world of wonders passes slowly by
As free from bonds of gravity you glide.
Through living waters rich in vibrant life
Kaleidoscopic colours coincide.
Fine gossamer of fragile life cascades
Down to the luring coral reef below,
A ballet of exotic fish parade
As bioluminescent starfish glow.
When life's adventures dangle out of reach,
Imagination holds the magic key
Just close your eyes and dare to take the plunge
To open seas of possibility.

Take me where the ocean rolls bigger than the pain in my
soul. Let me lay upon shore sand and hold its grit in my hand
while the ocean claims ground again, so sure of where it
belongs to begin its own fated end. Let ships on the horizon
remind me how small I am and how little I understand.
My pain seems so very grand yet it, and my heart bearing it,
will be gone long before this sand, so small, so mere in tiny
bits, but more earthly significant than any of me I have to
give. I have no distinct pain, all I hurt once ached another
name that millions could easily claim.
I do not want to feel love's sentiments anymore. I do not want
emphatic care blood in my core. My worn bruises need the
confusing wave cycle to diffuse. My heart wishes to comply with
my soul's voice, housed within, as it does whisper of peace should
I let go and fling the heavy pains my emotions have overlong
nourished and sustained.
God, let me tuck my aches inside a shell, please allow them
to only there dwell. I promise, I will sail the shell by my own
hand to swim the ocean depths. Allow the sea to free my
stored pain in deep, endless, salty motions that I may be
free from more tears of lame devotion.
When my imagination soars on adventurous wings
I'm a runaway carousel horse; a kite without strings
an ugly duckling evolving into a beautiful white swan,
the first glimmer of morning, and my name is Dawn,
but one thing I never envisioned was being all alone...
...and so I wrote a poem about the great love I've known.
At first meeting, my heart blushed; my mind said 'beware.'
We talked forever; secrets freely shared without a care
His smile was slightly crooked and reached his hazel eyes
Our farewell still haunts me because it came as a surprise
Sometimes my heart still sinks in the depths of memory,
borne on crested waves, crashing upon a turbulent sea.
No longer do we exchange intimate whispers in the dark
No candlelight kisses; no flames of fire without a spark
I see him in dreams, walking in corridors of my mind
Searching for me, but my threshold he cannot find
I feared I would stumble over the words I wanted to say
...and so I wrote a poem to help him discover the way
