Dark Knight-tress
Underneath
This gown I feel nothing
Silk less feelings
The odor of intimate apparel lessens
Vanity fare from any sun
Warrior of beauty
Where have you gone?
A fortress of gloom
Not even death wants in
Black nail tips
Brownish plum lips
I close my eyes
I see them all
The Shadows
Climbing over my soul
The darken deepens
The stars dim my view
Irremovable makeup
Land becomes an enemy
I become
The Dark Knight-tress
Scolding my next victim

Dramatic Verse
"What happens in the forest stays in the forest"
The trees are trimmed,
The leaves on the ground
Proposing passion, sweet mist
Naked with nothing to bare or wear
Nature's breath lightens the atmosphere
She breathes in, he breathes out
The auditory sensation of rain
- drums down and deepens
The course is near its end,
Deep in this forest night
A Gentleman among the trees,
Hibernating new seeds
"On the other side of the forest"
He guides a path, with ebony eyes
A convincing vent, I accept
The fear is broken, I sleep in glee
The whispers disappear
Drying in peace by the secret bayou
Broad leaves lay under raw landscape
Lulled by the chills he quills
A quarter past midnight
Mr Romantic
- prepares the new sheets of Winter.

Awake... my first breath in the quiet of an April dawn
becomes a halted gasp, caught and hung in mid air
A warm, silent smile deepens as eyes are drawn
toward the distant horizon where the face of the sun rising
Veiled by misty, morning dew spreads its warmth through
dense morning haze across skies perfectly inked in gold
and raspberry hues, making a promise of a beautiful day.

Eternal Bonds
Apricity sustains us through the cold
As our aging bones recall days of youth,
Where sweet treasures of the heart still unfold
A mode of love that deepens with the truth
That like a long lived tree whose roots run deep
Our years together strengthen our resolve
To weather storms together as we keep
Our bond of love continues to evolve.
Beauty reigns in eyes of the beholder.
Though years have changed our physicality,
Our pace is slower as we've grown older,
Yet in youth we remain, eternally.
Your aura shines so much brighter with mine
Because we have a love that is divine.

Kyoko walks alone in the morning tide,
comforted for a fleeting moment by salty air.
She feels the same sand between her toes
as when she was a barefoot little girl, in a time
she felt safe, when the eyes of her mother protected her
like a suit of armor - before the mighty wall of water,
the “harbor wave”, towered over her village
near Fukushima, washing her happy childhood away.
Her dear mother, her security, her everything
never came home that day.
Many months later, her father, a local fisherman,
has lost his ability to cry, laugh or tell her why.
His silent eyes, cold as frost, are dead
like the poisoned fish he nets every morning.
In many ways, Kyoko lost both of her parents
on that haunting day - forced to grow up long before
the water receded, before the nuclear leak,
before this new, austere existence.
Night deepens the despair. She is loneliest
when darkness invades. She prays for the crickets
return. They no longer sing her to sleep, and the stars
have faded, no longer shining through her open window.
Even the grasshoppers have died…
from restless sleep, night calls her to the mirror
to find her mother’s dark eyes staring back at her –
a curse she hopes will one day become a blessing,
a hope that one day her father will look at her again...
With tomorrow, her greatest burden will return.
She will wake along side the broken-winged butterfly
with her duties in mind. Then, she’ll wear her stoic face
to the marketplace. Father says he will soon lose
his fishing boat. She has heard visitors from the city say
only a fool would eat the fish from nearby waters,
the same fish she fries most every day. No one knows
the global impact, they say. She hears foreign words
like radiation, disease and mutation while she sells
the shiso and wasabi root from their garden stand,
feeling fear she does not fully understand but one day will.
She only knows how to survive today…

Narrative
in this your padded cell of silence
you torture me
in your straight jacket of neglect
I writhe
tormented
tried
from the observation window
you look in
cold hearted
indifferent
you take notes
of my descent
from this padded white room of insanity
into hell
you torture me
wanting to break free
I claw
I scream
straight jacket white
now crimson sheened
madness extreme
I fall to the floor
convulsing with the memories
of when your arms
straightjacketed me...
the rocking almost stops
I'm still
you walk into the room
not a sound
silence profound
deepens...deepens
I've no fight left in me
my eyes beg, "Please...
See me! Remember"....
Cold and calculated
you do what you've come to do
I'm waiting
you remove the straight jacket
and expose my nakedness
for a moment you stare
unaware of anything
but that tattoo on my breast
above my heart
You finger it
your name
what a shame!
you're not the same
for a moment
there is a flicker in your eye
a glint of passion
I sigh
and look away
too late
too late
I raise my arms
I straighten my form
"do what you came for"
and you help me into a new straightjacket
pristine white
a sight
a fright!
Not a word spoken
you leave
I bleed
from wounds not healed
not cleaned
I lie still
there....there
in the padded cell of your silence
In the straightjacket of your neglect
I lie still...
I
lie

Another of my deleted poems....Abuse has many faces. Though physical, sexual, and verbal abuse are easier to detect, neglect is one that often goes unnoticed. It causes psychological trauma, and at times, death. We read stories of children dying because their parents were too busy to feed them. There is also, the neglect of silence.

Winter whitewashes Autumn's decay,
and yet, you know that Spring will soon show.
But, as snowflakes bury Fall's array,
depression deepens with each fresh snow.
Snow-laden trees, like sculptures of clay;
stand exposed, chiseled by a sharp breeze.
And stenciled in statuary grey;
like outstretched fingers, bare branches freeze.
A brisk breeze wrestles your breath away,
in the grip of an unyielding cold.
And muting the sound of children's play;
melancholy thoughts start to take hold.
A stormy day causes nerves to fray,
for doldrums brood within shadows cast.
And folks speculate on Spring's delay,
damping hopes that this weather won't last.
Purple and scarlet ink the sun's rays,
and yet, sunset chills you to the bone.
For as twilight dims on dreary days,
you feel depressed, shut in, and alone.

Green is serene.
This color of nature
resurrects in early spring
to paint our landscape again,
from drab brown to soft fern haze.
Slowly, spring deepens into a sublime
mixture of emerald, and Shamrock hues.
Mid-summer, our lovely trees, and shrubs
are bathed in luxurious velvet forest green.
Later, summer paints with a deeper Viridian.
Our forests, mountains, valleys, hills, lawns,
trees, and plants...all saturated in greens.
Tranquil, flowing greens, soothe the soul,
as silky grasses, like waves of the sea,
ripple gently in the summer breeze.
Lush tree tops kiss the blue sky.
Green embraces every lake.
Green paints our lovely
landscape of nature.
Green is serene...

“ Affirmation without discipline is the beginning of delusion. Jim Rohn “
Relentlessly I pace around the room,
like a caged lion, dreaming of vast forests,
yearning for savannah grasslands,
vaguely remembered.
I fret for I feel inadequate,
still, I yearn despite the drudgery of life.
My thirst for you is insatiable,
always increasing though deluded,
as if I'm living in some devastating desert
where no fertile oasis thrives.
How can I enforce discipline? I cannot do it.
Night deepens and I yearn for the day.
Lying in bed I wonder
how much of all this I can take.
At last, my wife's home,
reeking of foul-smelling cigarettes,
reeling with too much drink,
dress soiled with what I dare not think.
She smiles at me, I freeze revolted.
Her kiss is blistering
as I wipe her saliva off,
I help her reluctantly
to her dark solitary cot.
How easy my fire is quenched!
All sweet song is muted. I despair.
How many wearisome nights are appointed to me?
That we should exist
when life is just like a passing wind,
it comes and goes, extinguished forever.
Till then, she and I are but chained,
each to his own devious devices.
Will I ever see joy again?
I retire to my fitful sleep
and dare to dream.
Perhaps one day.....
Who knows?
The newborn dawn is nigh,
its first rays are fresh and bright.
Yet, despite reality and delusion,
I dare to dream.

With Bated Breath
With bated breath I wait to see your glowing face
In the evening skies when you arise
Taking my breath away with your beauty.
How I await to view your glowing silver orb.
Beauty and enchantment of your illumination
Are a lover's romantic delight tonight as
Twilight deepens into indigo skies you
Elate my senses as you mesmerize in
Darkened skies where you rule the seas.
Breaking waves upon the sands provide
Rapturous tunes that envy you, majestic moon
Ever playing hide and seek with clouds
Above as you slowly ascend, wooing lovers in your
Transit across the sparkling star studded skies as
Hearts are captured with-in your magic spell.

Dew, to Dawn, to Dusk, to Dust: (pause)
A sacred cycle turns while love endures.
At dawn's first light for I am beside you.
Where my soul finds peace and rest
In your presence there are fears, like fallen leaves.
Are truly comforted and blessed.
Within your eternal heart,
My love's fervent quest finds its crest;
My Love, you are a blossom kissed -
by morning's dew.
Your grace is conveyed to many
each passing day.
Your smile is a sunrise chasing
nightmares away.
Your smile dispells shadows where darkness...
once held sway.
You color the silence with gentle care on
this our special day!
For in your kind eyes I do see
a love that forever reflects.
Refrain: With every single touch as our love story unfolds,
Through God-given years our tender care enfolds.
Your hand in mine as the promise that endures
A love that deepens like a softly spoken prayer.
Even when wrinkles trace their stories on our skin,
Our love’s fair flame shall never dim,
Our bond unbroken, a love we’ll always bear.
Through trials faced with faith as our guiding star,
Your spirit burns. A beacon ever steadfast and true.
For together we will walk on wings of hope as one. /
How firm our foundation, forever fresh and
forever blessed.
Within your arms your are my haven-
where peace sees me through.
Refrain: A vow so silent and holy blossoms in the hush
of daybreak's kiss.
For you are my lifetime and each moment a sacred bliss.
Your laughter's song such a melody as sweet.
As birdsong at dawn that chases doubt away. (pause)
With you my world is a Flourishing Garden.
You a love so pure that lights up
each and every day.
With every beat of my heart... slow murmurs:
"You're my beautiful and my cherished wife," (pause)
"forever true."
I know that when twilight writes
its final fading verse.
And earthly treasures crumble to dust.
Our love is a promise unwavering,
An eternal bond,
for in faith we always trust.
Hand in hand, heavensward, ascending.

Where is the secret of the rainbow?
At the edge of one's own life?
Whence does it come, with those lovely pastel colours?
Is it a heavenly art or a mere human illusion?
Some form of an ancient creative masterpiece?
Perhaps expressionism was reassessed?
The spiritual in natural art is oft-forgotten
in musty mists, where the soul engages
in confrontations with the deadly reaper.
The appalling midst of winter intensifies in the freeze,
and the psychology of death deepens,
for we are too much attached to worldly cares.
Characteristic emotions in cowardly conflicts.
One can say so very few words about
the astute business of a measured life,
like autumn's falling bronzed leaves,
its face value is not easily perceived;
for dead leaves turn into compost,
no peaceful transition true, but a must
that leads and helps life's renewal in spring.
Forget the troubled dream of dreary life,
let the seasons daub their watercolours bold and free,
the rainbow assigns a variety of mellow hues,
chooses always the brightest.
For the secret of the rainbow
a symbol of new hope lies in its Creator.

The decaying day dies, the dull dark deepens,
I am now in my own element.
For look, I, the wan moon, shines in the murky sky.
It is for your comfort and my satisfaction.
For I am the loyal mistress of the night.
I judge humble humans by what I see,
Select those that inspire my dearest rays
That I may bring fortune on them.
I choose the hour when restful peace reigns,
Despite the chill of the damp night.
Silence is everywhere, 'tis like a drug,
Expectancy is a controlled emotion until
I hear the woman calling, beckoning her love.
I see her enter her glass-walled room,
High up in the tall building. The hour is late,
He enters her arms, 'tis dizzy with scent.
This is the poetry I adore and love best.
I see them lie together in my silvery beams
Of my full moon. Their lips touch briefly.
I wallow lovingly in their velvet warmth,
Till their passion ripples in an euphoric blast.
O how I wish to lie forever with them
And never wake up from their blissful embrace.
Thus satiated I find solace in their love.
Together they stare up at the great mystery
That looms golden above the clouds.
They know my time is up as the first rays
Of the mighty sun blots out my pale light.
But my poem lives on and on and on.

She was with me, untouchable, intangible, and yet
she caressed me with her breath in an intimate way
on a balmy night in April, I shall never forget.
Patiently, I waited for shadowed clouds to fade away.
Then, I watched her gracefully moved among the stars,
a flawless goddess in chiffon, her face alabaster pale.
In resplendent light she was robed, her majesty divined.
As twilight's sapphire haze deepens on the fringe of night,
she captures my gaze with a mesmerizing hold.
At this paradisial moment, and in this Edenic place,
I am loved and loved in return with total devotion.
Able, for the first time to feel this depth of emotion,
this piety that I've never been able to express,
I confess this to the beauty hovering above me,
and in her illuminated celestial glory, she smiles.
To search for her soft glow each evening, I am fated.

When velvet petals blend with moonlit drips
I wander in full joy of a skyline’s hue,
evenings chant drifting through an eclipse
time away from rushed hours, while air brings dew.
I wander in full joy of skyline’s debut,
laced flowers tasting a hint of basil,
time away from rushed hours, while air spills dew
when color of blush deepens, my cheeks thrill.
Laced flowers tasting a hint of basil,
boughs adorn the garden in twilight ,
when color of blush deepens, my cheeks thrill
as mixture of red and white grow bright.
Boughs adorn the garden like nature's play
evenings chime, drifting on an eclipse
as blend of red and white glints away,
when velvet nigh-hours trail with moonlit dips.
