The Muffin and the Cupcake
Little miss muffin was resting one day
When a cute little cupcake came looking her way
The gaze he held, was saying one thing
I'm coming over to pull apron string
She blushed an blustered and turned all coy
But couldn’t resist the touch of the boy
Was this the mix she had waited for
Since she had sprung from the old oven door
He ambled over, his eye on her crest
He touched her side to physically test
He needed to see she was not a mirage
For he was battered by beauties barrage
He felt the warmth that swelled from her heart
And swore that day that they’d never part
He said, “My darling, with me will you run
I’ll take you a ride and we will have fun
For you are my muffin and I’m your cupcake
And nothing will sunder the bond that we make”
She took, his word, their lips came to meet
Was there ever before, kisses tasting so sweet
The last I heard, they had run away
And merrily danced in their love so they say
So muffin or cupcake, next time you eat
You may have destroyed, but their love not defeat.

Our granddaughter loves cupcakes.
Someday, she wants to run a cupcake business.
Someday, she wants to be a beautician.
Someday, she wants to specialize in makeup.
Someday, she wants to be a singer.
Someday, she wants to be a songwriter.
Someday, she wants to go to college.
I’m voting for number one
and number seven.
I love cupcakes.
If she goes to college,
her cupcake business might succeed.
You go, girl!

GIANT CUPCAKE
With raisins, nuts and cinnamon
Quite moist all through
Not the usual 3-minute egg on toast
Oh no! I’m taking a chance on something new
Just a crack of dawn
Splotches through the trees
And with smoking black coffee
This special morning promises to please
Mondays, like any other
Count increasing wants and pains
All constipated within this hardening frame
Aching to evacuate, enflatulate
All with awareness enflamed
My simple wants are for those lost
Those which children possess
A healthy excitement and joy
Dramatic imagination –
Yes, that’s it, I guess
Ah, mind’s eye has gone sick white
For only sleep will stir imagination’s sight
I shake my head
Twist the catch from shoulder and neck
Sigh, and take a bite

Good things often come in small packages so
have yourself a few bites of cakey bliss. A
cupcake with a swirl of sweet on top, oh my,
now that will take you to confectionary heights
Almost any flavor you might desire can be achieved.
And if you happen to be so lucky you might get a whiff
of delights to come…..if your patient! Be patient!
You know, sometimes it’s the little things in life
that count.
A simple cupcake can give the day a lift,
especially if it has been baked with love. So,
forget the diet and take a moment to enjoy
this day’s simple little gift...mmm,mmm, good!

Gritty flour mixed with eggs
Milk and thick honey
Beat to silky ribbons-cook
Sweetened creamed butter
Creates smooth icing
Spiced mushrooms
Sweet!

WHAT IS THE PURPOSE
WHY DOES IT MATTER
JUST EAT THE CUPCAKE
AND GET JUST A LITTLE FATTER
YOU ARE MOST LIKELY NOT GOING TO DIE
NOT JUST YET
HOWEVER
PAY YOUR DOCTOR AND
COVER YOUR BET

Clanging and bashing
The kitchen's in use
Daughters craving treats
Allowed on the loose.
Flour, sugar, butter
All over the floor
Dusting the ceiling
Spread thru the drawers.
Seeking seclusion
Mum heads to the mall
Dad's not so enthused
He’s taken the fall!
Vanilla smells waft
Blitzed cake mix atoll
Now one eggs rotten
Phew! Missed the whole bowl.
Mixing all finished
Into the oven
Fast rising ignited
By the witch coven.
Ginormous cupcakes
Rest plump on the bench
Waiting so silent
For icing frost drench.
Now bizarre colours
Created in leagues
Designs are invented
Intending intrigue.
Red nose drawn upon
Superfluous clowns
Green, orange, purple
Even some browns.
Goblins and gremlins
Haggard old fairies
Wombles and warlocks
Yellow canaries.
Dad for his patience
Gets the first taste
His fluttering eyes
Say he wasn’t quite braced!
Smiling so sweetly
He says they taste nice.
When truly he wants
Some hard drink on ice!
Cupcakes were vital
Baking so easy
Except for the clean
Now the kids feel quite queasy.

Dear Cupcake,
Nine whole months you did bake,
Maturity you now forsake,
A college “safe-space” is your must.
Why not simply grow some crust?
Pursue, for sure, that art degree
But why’s tuition up to me?
And wow! Of Clinton, you did gloat,
Now your tantrum: a lost vote.
So go, retreat to Mommy’s walls,
Brood and whimper, but grow some balls—
Grow them quickly, we won’t wait:
We busily make this country great.
With Love,
Deplorable Dave

hello my sweet
might I entreat
as to the flavor you are
a single bite
fills me with fright
for I have come too far
I'm not allowed to
sit here beside you
and take even slight of a crumb
my chocolate delight
I crave in the night
forbidden which turns me numb
my cupcake, glorious treat
how can i beat
this terrible curse
all that I crave
sends me to a rage
and makes me mentally worse
your all that i need
the source of my greed
I want you to my own
shame brought on me
as people will see
my cravings left alone

Over three thousand miles across,
an ocean that whispers her name.
One dream comfortable in loss,
two hearts beating the same.
With lucid eyes never fading,
like painted sky tearing through.
Lovely images reflecting beauty,
spiraling heavenly shades of blue.
Sweetened lips placed perfectly,
cloud-like kisses foretelling grace.
Lipstick marks from past adventures,
taking refuge in my warm embrace.
Pearl white skin, brilliant in color,
cheeks emitting blood ruby hues.
A masterpiece among modern art,
supporting a lonely painter's muse.
Beneath her bosom gently waiting,
tomorrow suffers from her cry.
Holly, the name encased forever,
all her troubles within me die.

To eat a cupcake like a kid
You have to do as Henry did:
With mouth wide open, bite the place
Where frosting waits to glaze your face.
Repeat ‘til frosting disappears
(Forget the smears on nose and ears)
Then tackle all the cake beneath
(The crumbs of which will coat your teeth).
Let mom and daddy clean the floor,
The chair and all the clothes you wore
While you’re enjoying every bite,
Your face aglow with pure delight.
The grownups all will find it cute
But here’s a truth that’s absolute –
Such manners are a toddler’s job;
We’d call a teen like that a slob!

When this happened it caught the world off guard
An epic scene, a memory that you could not discard
Who would have guessed these two titans of obesity and tooth decay
Would break so many kid's hearts in such an upsetting way
The loving memories before this you could not forsake
The day Twinkie the Kid battled Captain Cupcake
Toucan Sam would choose sides and give the Kid some twine
Cap'n Crunch would throw his fellow Captain a life line
Fruity Pebbles took one side and Trix Rabbit took the other
Aunt Jemima split sides with Uncle Ben her twin brother
Count Chocula severed ties with his long time friend Tony the Tiger of Frosted
Flakes
Nobody realized how much trouble was started when Twinkie the Kid battled
Captain Cupcake
Now both state their case in front of the FDA
This is to determine who goes and who stays
The Twinkie Kid tells about his spongy outside
Captain Cupcake fires back with his pure chocolate pride
Captain Cupcake mumbles I bet you would get seasick
Twinkie the Kid hears and replies I know a rotund fella like you couldn't control a
lasso or perform horse riding tricks
In the end, they both reconcile and admit trying to outdo one another was a big
mistake
Generations down the road, history will repeat itself with a legendary battle of
belly busters between Twinkie the Kid and Captain Cupcake

Cherry topped leaves
Frozen ventures into gardens
When I splice that cake
sipping on apple pie
Stirring my drink
with a straw
The branches break
I hear them crack
the pinecones fall
in the night I see the bending sound
nothing hushed
in a crowd
Verses spoken
I feel the starlight as you crawl into bed
next to me
on cupcake mountain.

What would you do
With a cupcake
On a pillow
Would you eat it
Or display it
Would you share it
Or go show it
What would you do
With a cupcake
On a pillow
