Best Credential Poems
As i look beyond the landscape of emotion
I suddenly feel the sides of my imperfection
Eyes with eyelashes that set sight of attraction
Suddenly i saw the mirror and stare at my own reflection.
I saw his mind mentioning this motivations
"Elevate your goals, Not your expectations"
"Entertain your positivity in reality , Not your imaginations"
"Everyday in life full of conflicts, Full of realization"
"Entity and Spirit is under dictation"
I look at his eyes with a portrait judicial
There's a Masterpiece image full of potential
Overflowing primary knowledge, but lack of credential
Talents deathroned in hidden misery rejection
But what inspired me is his willingness and dedication
I listened to his voice saying this quotation
"Less talk,Less mistakes thats my obligation"
Its not just breathtaking words because he did it with action
Just like the stratus clouds in a windy motion
That lies beyond unpredictable weather collision
And finally i listened to his heartbeat
Just like a music with a consistent beat
Derived in different combinations of essence
But theres a fright which shows lack of confidence
His completely indifferent and unique with other people.
Because he might enjoy being lonely after all.
And he stop the ink, throw the pen and stand up tall
Saying "This is my Last Masterpiece after all
Excite for the opportunity,
gracious of the chance.
For the possibility, to discover,
our connection, in romance.
In hopes, of us, finding,
the aspirations, of us, to gain.
A relationship, where all, is shared,
through our happiness, and our pain.
However, with there, being risk,
in each others reflected credential.
We can never, be truly afraid,
to seek, our true, love potential.
it's best done later and not now
tomorrow will be perfect i can vow
Why yoke yourself like a laden cow?
The cloud is heavy and ready to snow
Be merry with life and take it real slow
And in observing the cloud u didn't sow
Alas the seed dies with its great potential
buried with a would have been credential
The plan became an aborted mission
Because procrastination stole the vision
He was a helping vessel,
Greatness was pertained in him,
Can't imagine himself about the possessive power,
At a tender age,he was pointed as naughty gazelle,
The entire neighbourhood took is capabilities to be a theme,
On wrong settings,...stayed under bower,
Called him to dad,..viewed her around bezel,
Quarter passed timely, when we got to swim,
Figurative collections stolen against Fowler,
His brother understood mums worth of no credential,
Number one was fake love,
Drained to beat over fears,
The family steamed up without essential,
Conflicts left dad at a club,
Early in their marriage everything stayed with no tears,
Day break served everyone with biracial,
When circles were drawn,...he asked how?
Bought heavy suits to take a snap,
Growing to be responsible,...
Jobless for five years on a lap,
In fact, number two made plain of reliable,
In college teachers held tightly what I kept as Map,
Directing every goal to success,...parable,
Counting parent steps,I drifted from a slab,
Brother chased his dreams under stable,
"Don't be left from Christ's cup",
It was mum speech craved in variable,
Digitized, number three showed the day I got married,
Things went well from no form,
Birds on wall, trees and enjoying a feed,
So proud, nature housed our casual uniform,
Drumming all over wifey,
Every toss got us to visit the grandparents of our children,
Grateful had set a family free,
Nervously,I met salvation not alone before when,
All was about glee,
Severance towards souls if will rend,
A vow day of a real style,I'm out of a money world.
Titanic battle unfold as foreseen and planned
Almost the egg and the chick story ever told
A complex battle and partnership that desecrates
While they flex for supremacy of a land barren
Tomorrow’s temples lie in reckless shambles
Good has never been discredited to high degree
Excellence lost her place in today’s agenda
The dogs have conquered the temple with wild snarls
They gnaw away at the fabrics of the core of life
In a land where Idiocy is the credential that qualifies
Upturned values changing the scope of life
In corruption we allowed mediocrity and wallowed
In fervent prayers for idiocy to change form in time
A nation overwhelmed by real capacity in real tatters
Leaders of the lot confused in their ignorance and shame
Nation under siege on two fronts by identical monsters
Corruption has begot his biggest rival mediocrity
Leadership scripts oozing Mpu na iti (impunity)
“Sweetheart of P. S.” I am, she proclaimed.
And this she stated when her membership was new.
“Who is this poet that to us had exclaimed?”
It was time to check her profile without adieu.
This self-declared sweetheart had credential.
Could she? Would she? Shall she really be?
The “Sweetheart of P. S.” became quintessential.
She captured poet's hearts with friendships spree.
She took us on vacations and adventures.
Commented on our work flamboyantly.
Encouraged and loved us each without censures.
Can you guess who she became, subsequently?
Yes! Linda-Marie Barriana, “The Sweetheart of P.S.”
A Poetess extraordinaire as she proclaimed…Success!

To Come Back Again
It was a rampant effort to exploit
By trying to anoint and then appoint
A certain person who needed nursing
Regarding reading poems and rehearsing.
How ironic that they all had elected
A certain way for it to be perfected
Should it require a shot for immunity
Blocking obstructions to an opportunity.
Another important thing we had found
Stand up straight with feet on ground
When saying poem sound of your voice
Must make you happy and want to rejoice.
May be an embarrassing moment or two
When up their hands they all just threw
After all of your great effort had erupted
Use of verb tense and words were corrupted.
So did you think it was quite essential
For you to produce your every credential
Reading poem lasting for at least an hour
Everyone there was sure to over-power.
To a very short subject you should stick
Forget all of your power that is intrinsic
And when poetry reading reached an end
You'd gladly come back again and again.

In preparation for next poetry reading.

Lies on Resumes
By Elton Camp
A coach has been caught again
Resume lies aren’t the way to win
When a college degree on it we see
The absolute truth it had better be
Employment prospects it will kill
A credential from a diploma mill
Lies on half of all resumes we find
They must think the employer blind
Very foolish is the one who tries
To be hired on the basis of lies
Even if it should work at first
The inflated resume will burst
The employee will leave with shame
A lasting black mark against his name
Teacher that walks before me, a precept imaged in stone
Exhorting exhaustlessly the word shaped wonder grown
Academic, ambassador of an ancient beginning bringing
Competence in credential o vision; In honor of your giving
Humanity celebrates itself in you; you the culture's store
Emitting light, you the open door inviting change, you sure
Register of all glory; teacher, we rise in adoration to praise
Sisters at heart
We'll never part
Stay together
In all weather
Sharing our woes
Joys and sorrows
She is special
Love's credential
Dancing peacock
My sure, strong rock
She sees me through
My close pal true
My bestest friend
Real Godsend
Her honest view
I do value
To her, I turn
From her, I learn
Charming star bright
She sets me right
Her love and care
Is something rare
You'll hardly see
Such amity
What's between us
Is a sure plus
She is carefree
And lets me be
Peacock and bear
The bond we share
We understand
Like sea and sand
We're of one mind
She's a true find

(4 syllables each line)
(Dedicated to my best friend, Meenu)
For Regina McIntosh's "From the heart" contest
You’re only as good as your last.
—my spine, mid-fold
I enter a contest
like I enter most rooms:
looking for sound no one’s made yet.
I don’t chase strange—
not all weird is created equal.
Once I find it though—
the mirror says submit
the mask says edit
the stage says nothing,
but still demands presence.
I wrap my fear of not-enough
in a metaphor so elaborate
it cues the lighting, files the props list twice,
proofreads the program.
In a backstage mind,
I re-enter my Almost phase—
a trapeze of deadlines,
swinging for an audience who won't remember—
wanting them to see me, follow
my next leap.
I’m not interested in winning per se.
I just need to be undeniable—
objectively worse, isn’t it?
When the wings hum with nerves
the color of gone-sour grapes—
I tell myself, it's not the sh*ttiest piece
you’ve ever written, and the air tastes
like bitten nails, sharp with an apology
I haven’t spoken.
Every poem I send is another version
of myself smuggling me past the velvet rope,
(also me, maybe you) each line
a peeled credential hoping to be let in,
to find others still building their craft
from scraps of broken mirrors.
I almost make it—
then a sense of achewhelming¹ hits:
that breath-stuck thrum when I see
someone seeing too much of me,
and I forget how to hold the sentence.
---------------------------------------------------------------
¹ achewhelm (n.) — stasis or irregular rhythm of breath that strikes when the self is too exposed to speak clearly; a paralyzing mix of over-recognition and emotional static that derails intention mid-expression.
THE ACTOR
He in his life had played so many parts
Enriched them with beguiling vocal essence
Those icons wrought: of such an incandescence
They still excite a lifting of our hearts
Yet with a sadness that he was beset
Averring that, save characters deployed
Down deep within lay nothing but a void
That he was but a hollow marionette
But there he had unwittingly perceived
A fundamental truth of our true being
We can assert a part in life decreeing
We are not merely what is preconceived
A character compelled by rods and strings
Requires direction by a puppeteer
He who plays a part may yet the drama steer
Breath life into a role, and give it wings
If given choice: to be of nature planned
With form determined by another mind
Or take multiple parts to be refined
I choose the patterns drawn by my own hand
The being that we are and give credential
Is not a cast of clay manipulation
But godlike spirit blessed to make creation
A void with an unlimited potential
Eve chose neither red nor green between these,
Eat, sweetened me' feet needn't desert Eden,
Keep earthen delved deep beneath heightened trees,
Heedless sell serpent issue agreed in.
Centuries teems decades, millennium,
Free Verse verses' a-peck-o-peppers-herbs,
Elves live in teepees Sumer pole Autumn,
Presley name per some steep fee minced-free verbs.
Requirements necessary--get there,
Senseless feather-headed time essential,
Execute effectiveness engineer,
Acquiescence evidence credential.
Set preferences effectuate a theme,
Elevate efforts of the letter E.
Let the revival and return of vitals be crucial to expose your potential/
Drop denial it’s a vicious cycle/
This brain heal doesn’t appeal to what his feelings reveal or what he is mentally able to conceal/
This life’s like a fish and a reel so surreal/
Seems like everything you feel will feel like you and the devil are making a deal/
Don’t revel towards that trail there’s only poison to inhale/
With this game so frail and fragile I’m the killer whale you’re the dolphin turning pale/
Don’t go partial come out swinging full of will never in a standstill/
So watch my spiritual fill like I’m eerily dropping an anvil/
What’s been on my plate you can’t handle/
I’m on my own mantel speaking conceptual it’s you my zen will tackle/
It could be fatal and non-curable/
A rebuttal would prove not ample/
You’ll need a certain credential to come at this word tool/
I’ll make you drool while you swim in my rhythmic pool/
So just grovel at my gruel/
You’re more than uncool I’m such a fruitful mule with this writing utensil/
You’re skills I will repel/
I just stand tall while I heard you yelled for help or some bail/
Like a farm without a hay bale you’re lacking skill or not able/
I’ll never teeter or topple in this brain heal I put on my table/
I’m completely corrigible
The black colour
Though a shadow of fear
An eclipse of the sun or the moon
A darkness of unknown and waiting danger
A mourning atmosphere
As bad luck as the crow
Figuratively they are and of no choice
But dresses in black may look tidy and fresh
Classy and elegant
Documents in black and white
May be a credential to dignity
And a contribution to its innocence and pride
And thus it goes
To every cloud there is a silver lining
