Lagos, a Confuse City

April 23rd,
The seductive smoky weed descending from Kabiru swept through my nostril
Cracky creepy shanties sneaking
Pulsating stench sneering from gutters
Churning and choky smoke oozing from the BRT buses
Area boys bullying
Police officers begging for spiritual currency
Perputuality and patriotism is our uniform
Confusion descending from the State House
Fashola’s spectacles is missing
Tinubu is snoring
Okada’s boys on rampage
Mama Risikat with assorted bottles of combined
I embraced a cup to shine my eyes
I embraced street live
Growing up in the hood
Swimming with the skally wags and hood rats
My dreams are illegal in Lagos
A meter from my nose
Is a sawmill and smiling garbage as high as Babel
Emeka’s blaring speakers echoing;’ do me, I do you, God no go vex’
Beside me, is a 2 storey house
The city of scam
‘Boys go hamma’
Unliag coconut heads with their effizy
Adeola’s gap-tooth snowballing
My naughty pen crying, ‘chop my money’
At dawn, the muezzin whispering’ Allahu Akbar’
O’ Lagos, your womb is polluted and punctured
Your dreams cut through third mainland bridge
Swaggering and swooning it trails
Lagos, a confuse city.

Confuse, Not

For my soul will reach the sky...

when my eyes have touched the ground...

I walk on...

kissing the air...

singing threw my ears...

and rattle the hell out if it's core...

for I live 4ever more....

You Confuse Me

Is this love or hate
You have been acting different mate
And its hard to relate
Lets not debate
All I'm saying is the person you are
Is not the picture you portrait
Just remember it's never too late
To meditate your minds state
And change your fate
Our relationship was so constant
But at this instant you started being distant

If You Confuse

If you confuse a lion with a butterfly then you are surely in love.

Quirky Things That Confound and Confuse Me

Quirky things that confound and confuse me,
Must include those remarks which bemuse me.
Though our language is reasoned at heart,
There are questions to ask of this art.

‘Bob’s your uncle’ – well, simply not true!
Mine are Jimmy and Johny and Hugh.
‘He’s all mouth and no trousers’ they say,
Yet he sports snazzy Chinos each day!

'No such thing as a free lunch', that's barmy!
Never heard of the Salvation Army?
And they claim that they 'see eye to eye',
But she’s short and he stands six foot high!

Yet I guess 'at the end of the day'
Speech delights in this wacky word-play.

Memories and Emotions They All Confuse

cut through the illusion to know whats true
memories emotions they all confuse
dont look for answers to questions change your view
letting go of the old make way for the new
its amazing to know how far you willing to go when someone believes in you
the most important decision you will ever make is what you
Do with the time that is given to you
dont let your happiness depend solely on things you could lose
you can be stunned by what happens if you refuse to reduce
no matter what path in life you choose just be yourself in everything you do
let go from your worries and the things you must do
life is about experiences and things that most value to you

You Confuse Me

I hold you up,
You bleed all over me.
I help you hide your knife,
You stab me.
I tuck you into bed,
You kick off the sheets.
I ignore you,
You give me a hug.
I accidentally trip you,
You don't get up.
I reach out for you.
You run away.
I hear you out,
You won't talk.
I sing your song,
I can't relate to it.
You're mad at me,
Not for long.
I love you,
You love me more.

You confuse me.

I Confuse Love

I was riding in a bus on my way back home
Watching the pouring rain outside my window,
as my thoughts recognize this epitome
this argument I had in an attempt to answer my confusions

I confuse love to create some magic
embodied in a situation we call “romantic”
When in reality it’s simple, enduring and tragic
Far less than being dramatic
I saw love from those who are unloved
Those who receive less but give more than what they have
Society calls them stupid for they weep and starve
when they’re the ones who justify the reality of love

~i Confuse a Confucius?~

~I confuse a Confucius?

Why, that would be ridiculous,
I don't even know him.

Master Kong you say in the day?
I thought that was a movie
About the love of an Ape?
Great.all.be.he... I didn't no see
An ape had more of a name then me.
That Qui was MiA and the MiBs....
Two.You confused a Futzu.Kung.fu.

Wait...
Qufu thought he was Egyptian?
Albert you say was on a Mission?
A Mason with a puck who was kissin'
~A duck? wtf?
In a Time when demons had a lake?
And a rink and some hockey skates?
~ Your Confucius is quite confusing
A Maya with a Count who was musing?

To the tune of 80's are you sure?
And I still don't get how Qufu's Egyptian?
Who is which one? Flying this Mission?
I'm gonna report you....

~If I don't understand you... soon.

And this is why you don't get
the gummy bears...
Or the Cup. ;) Of beers...
Who the heck are you anyway?
Or am I confused and talking to myself.
Again? \@@/
Or am I just crazy and it's my pen?
Move over would ya,
"You're Confucius.ing.Me"

Awkward Sunrises Confuse

Awkward sunrises confuse
A broken heart
And a window tapped outside
Cracks open to reveal
A staggering splendor
And taking in the scenery
I see
Me without you

Confuse

u confuse me
why cant you tell me how you feel?
sometime you ignore me like bee
and sometime you stare at me like i'm the only one here
at first you couldn't get your eyes of me
but know i don't have enough beauty to be your lady

what ever is up your mine
it make me so made
why do you act like that
at first i was the spotlight
know i'm nothing but your trash
to you i was something great
but know i'm nothing but your waste
make up your mine already?
cause i can't stand the way you confuse me

Confuse

it happen to me
here's the key
don't let bad news
or being abuse
cause you too be
CONFUSE

Laziness

How beautifully disguised you have made yourself to be that one would not recognize you.
You have made many remain in the state of I'm trying while in the real sense their effort does not match/meet up whatever they have at heart.
You have made so many sit and plan so many vicious ways to destroy a fellow because the fellow keeps making headway without wanting to relent.
You have kept so many in the wheelchair of blame, because they became so lame to even worry about themselves.
You brought so many into the limelight of their shadow, lost in forever land, that even their feet when walking is so confused that one wants to go right and the other left instead of going the same direction.
You finally smacked many down that they don't even want to understand that you're their main problem.
Oh!Laziness, how well you are disguised.
You left so many people feel they're so busy, yes! Busy doing nothing but lazing around.
Laziness! You have crown so many king and queen in their fantasies that they refused to return to reality.
Laziness! Alas, you clothed yourself so well and begged the emotions of so many that they emptied themselves in you.

Confuse You

Now nearly
trying to
decide

How to
partake
in this,
this time.

What would
you want
to do?

I don't know,
how about you?

Crazy as
it seems
you know?

You too
are left
to grow.

Why do you
waste your
precious time

Trying to
write these
thoughts in
rhyme?

Strange as
it seems

You kind of
like this
poetry

But this
isn't poetry
now is it?

Yes you'll
catch on
to this each
visit.

Boredom
has me writing
this

But confusion
has you reading
this.

My Sunflower

She flickers in the glass—
a glitch of golden déjà vu,
The paint strokes—bright, wild yellow,
but no warmth leak through.

I sometimes reach
for her dimming leaves
that hum against my skin then disappear.
I pull back and smell
ash, when nothing’s charred.

There were twelve petals yesterday,
now, only eleven.
I wake up and count again.
Still eleven,
or maybe
none.
(I’m not sure if I’ve woken,
even though I know
I tasted salt from my tears.)

Mother says we never got a dog.
But I remember—
the texture of his leather collar,
the white fur tickling my nose.

The sky runs—
watercolor pulled too far.
I check the time:
9:42 AM.
Then I open my eyes.
4:08.

She’s still there,
scorched
into my nightstand—
brushing mirage into my vision.
