Best Conceding Poems
Up above the moon shines brightly;
starlight touches earth so lightly;
passions teasing impolitely.
Midnight whispers, “Carpe noctem.”
Blowing soft the summer breezes
through her hair as nighttime pleases,
and the moonlight softly teases.
Voices urging, “Carpe noctem.”
Standing close our bodies facing;
hand in hand our fingers lacing;
gentle touches, hearts are racing.
Longings begging, “Carpe noctem.”
Wonder where her thoughts are leading;
do my eyes reveal my pleading?
Will she, with her voice conceding,
whisper softly, “Carpe noctem?”

Rhyme
Divinity lives beyond description
Alone, a weary heart cries from its pain
Desire eager for its conscription
Might truth and love turn this way again?
Sweet mysteries, this life, in dreams of thee
Yield fantasy's passion I dare to share
Walk from this muse, I pray to live in me
Conceding this, my love, unto your care
On lifeless shadows, cast your glowing light
Bring a blessed presence to this peace I seek
Rest too this solemn shade, this endless night
With angelic verse, but you could only speak
For seeking dreams to dream from up above
I cast my will and fate to seek your love

Sonnet
A woodland path in the dappled sun- hushed and quiet
where I come free my breast and silently ponder.
I gaze upon a spiritual calm and listen to its quiet song
releasing tranquility of mind that does wander.
Between branches of towering mixture of spindly trees
encased in morning sunlight smoky haze;
I hear the rustle of hanging leaves falling gently as a sigh,
conceding tired mellow heart to praise.
In far distance echoes soft cries of lonesome blue jay,
quickly taunting squirrel gives harassing reply.
In shadows of bushy foliage, sunlight fails to cast
hides ground creatures that have come to spy.
A cool soothing breeze sweetly lulls an inward peace
capturing solitude within fractured soul.
Suddenly troubled trapped mind feels timely at ease
when moment seized a woodland stroll.

The capacity of kindness,
the surplus of charity,
people give all,
without deficiency.
Sympathy without bias,
belief without bitterness,
inspire kindness.
Unity surrounded by disarray,
liberty contained by suppression,
charity begets unkindness,
some are led by oppression.
Moralizing harmony and kindness,
should come from the spirit of human shame,
Love and kindness do not come in class breeding.
A dog is not just for Christmas is a poor saying,
The loving thoughts eradicate kindness,
The mouth opens and speaks only of audacity.
follow,
the path of kindness,
don’t kid yourselves of being blameless,
you’re both destructive,
and malign.
Attractive lips,
Evolve,
by expressing,
Only,
words of kindness,
as language is honey,
Upon,
the lips.
A soul mate conceding all the loving-kindness;
Bestowing unto me tender leniency,
For all my transgressions.
A decent Christmas to secure,
The triumphant hope survives;
Children of God shall smile,
A little kindness changes live.

This night of misery my essence rapidly descending
Tears like summer rain cascading
O for this dark wintry night prolong
Breaking heart aches so forlorn
Circumstance, distance always impeding
In silence apprehensive heart conceding
Devoid of sustenance waiting in anguish
Quiescent alone in sorrow I languish
As posts interweave deferring
Father Time nonchalant delaying
Yet, essence nourish essence elating
Unadulterated love relaying
Tonight, on borrowed wings my heart must fly
To sheltering warm arms in which I'll lie

Sonnet
.
In tight contests,
rivals flash sour,
scheming smiles
of ignominies.
Some are spiteful
though they're down
beaten on bended,
wounded knees.
Their front act of
dire deceit: feigning
sportsmanship, not
conceding defeat.
Rancour and rage
behind their civil,
congenial masks
insidiously lurk.
Though, quietly they
lick their wounds,
they vow vengeance,
and defiantly sulk.

Tail-rhyme
I know there’s nothing I can do
and nothing I can say
to bring you back to me
Not tomorrow, not today
I hope when you see me
you’re happy with what you find
You know it’s not been easy
losing my naturally/already unsound mind
So send me all your bane
I’m conceding to your game
and I’m sure as was your aim
I’m dying from this pain
here inside of me
I can feel my frail heart
once burning with Love
now burning in Hell
And in my mind there’s a burning
and a slow-churning blade
The pressure in there is rising
and I am feeling jaded
I can feel my fears rising
I’m becoming so afraid
This insanity’s pervaded every fiber
of who I am
My hope for my life is faded
as the future seems so bleak
Without you in my life
I feel so incomplete
The only love I had
the only love I knew
The only love I’ve ever seen
is the love I found in you

Lyric
His name is evoked with boundless esteem
By the strata of generations down the ages
The prodigious son of our holy motherland
Who embodied valour and chivalry to the hilt.
He could have lead a princely life of comfort
By conceding the honour of his blessed land
But happily chose a life similar to his terrain
Instead of beating the same refrain like peers.
He embodied all that stands for grit and nerve
Inspired the masses by an outstanding example
Sent shivers down the spine of the adversaries
And won admiration even from his sworn foes.
His form awe-inspiring stays etched in minds
Reviving the memories of his sacrifice great
That arouses the most weak and low-spirited
Infuses the spirit with verve and vim; enviable.
Even today he is revered as a symbol of bravery
With very few peers to match his place in history
He strode like a colossus on the sands of time
The Maharana is worthy of salute for all time.
Till his last breath he worshiped his motherland
A crest jewel among all valiant warriors of the land
He the great, his loyal Chetak, the gallant steed
To all such immortals, we all owe our gratitude.

An old lady had a sip of gin,
Not conceding it was a sin,
Purely medicinal was her thought,
A second opinion she never sought,
She drank with a medicinal grin.

Limerick
In tight contests,
their front acts of deceit,
not conceding
the worthiest defeat,
rivals flash sour smiles
of ignominies;
even when they crush down
hard on their knees.
Spite and rage behind
their civil masks lurk
as, quietly, they
defiantly sulk,
with crass callousness,
cold calculation;
famishing for fame
and adulation!

My New Poem, Raw and Uncut
Oh What a day
Oh What a day when black people stop pray
Pause and realize where their horizon lay
Where the pastures are green, yet remains unseen,
What a day when we look in perception
and see the path that lead to today ,
yet we keep reliving the past
the ignominy of a bygone day.
Oh What a day
when we clear the path
of delusional ideologies and alien songs
Home is where the heart is
But in Africa, Humanity began
Oh what a day
when we see our purpose,
That from the cradle, the creator blessed us ,
not conceding to the thought, he cursed us.
Oh what a day
when our leaders
plants the seed of economic sufficiency
than clearing the path to cooperate greed.
When will our leaders in the west indies
Revisit our history and shine a light
To our glorious African history
That’s kept from our sight.
Oh what a day, when we hang our wall
An image of our creator
Blessed with the dark shades of the sun
Telling the truth, of how it began
Not reflecting what its never been
Oh what a day,
when we learn to love,
our African brothers despite what is said.
West Indies may be your homeland
America and others are a part
But if you are a blackman
Jamaica may be your homeland
but keep Africa in your heart
The motherland,
your primary thought.
Oh what a day
When we see the light
And know the meaning of life
That regardless of material things
There is a glorious life
In sharing, caring, preserving life.
Oh what a day
We don’t need no gold or diamonds rings
No motor cars, no air plane, none of these earthly things
For the riches that the earth possess
Even if you are a poor man , they are priceless
And if you are a rich man, they too become useless
Oh what A day, when the angels sings
And cashes not, just to wear the bling
That steals the soul, and corrupts the heart
Costing life at an escalating cost
Oh what a day when we start again
And share the spirit that our ancestors had
The love of our mother, sister and brother
Where dad played his part ,
Getting the harvest, bold and strong
Defending the virtues of the mother and Motherland
Oh what a day,
when the daily propaganda, no longer influence
Because we have taught the youth
Home is where the lesson is learnt
Righteousness the only path
For human coexistence,
We need a kind heart/

Alas! We meet again!
We held fist against each other back then,
But once more now I see you,
And I am more than ready too.
Conceding to you my life,
For this conflict cannot be ceased by strife,
You are with the Almighty Divine,
And I thank you for the gift of extended Time.
Alas! My friend depart with me,
Guide me and give me the chance to be free,
Free from the clutches of life and its reality,
Grant me the feeling of eternal glee.
To my friends I say to you all,
Do not see my death as my own downfall,
For I am happy with my old friend who visits me now and then,
Let him do as he pleases for this is the fate of all men.

Ode
Peace on earth I cherish so much without doubt
Even if rancour exist between many nations
Active participation in peace talks brings about
Cumulative efforts to end external aggressions
Existing between the Jews,Palestinians and other nations
Orchestrated by selfish interest, religious bigotry and favoritism
Now is the time to shun racism, ethnicity and neocolonialism
Expanded programs on maintenance of peace would be a good notion
Action must be taken against leaders who commit genocide secretly
Reports made on any country producing weapon of mass destruction
The superpowers must demonstrate love by conceding more to really
Help the poorer nations to overcome their economic quagmires.

Acrostic
Updraft
by Odin Roark
He sees the journey endless
Yet knows well of endings
He senses the other side of heart
That way station of life
Where respite or more challenge
Follows getting beyond
Yesterday’s beauty and pleasure
Perplexed with what to do
He rejects conceding as not enough
After all
Who will hear the melodies
Blood’s ebb and tide ripples
See rainbow vibrations
Atop a sparrow’s whistling breeze
Smell the freedom of flowers
Opening by dawn’s fraternal light
Taste longevity’s savory consciousness
Touch anxious brush-strokes of dreams
Still seeking canvas?
Restless
Aware the final movement
Of life’s symphony inexorable
His spirit soars above the clouds
Not yet willing to embrace
Dead air’s finality
Patience smiles
Another updraft rises

Ode to the President
As Commander and Chief you took an oath,
To lead the us on a path, of economic growth,
Opposition at your feet, never conceding defeat,
A battle well fought, are words bearing repeat!
As an advocate for clean energy, both here and abroad,
Your agenda on climate change; put us all on one accord.
Mended relations with Cuba, has opened many doors,
For business deals and travel ease, like the memories of 54’!
Our seniors’ see the light, at the tunnels grim dark end,
With healthcare reform, many faces are wearing a grin.
Your accomplishments are many, and I’ve listed just a few,
With purpose driven vision, results are always in plain view!
Eight years is but a short time, to bring back normalcy,
To the United States of America, the land that we call “Free”
