As I Saw the Coffin Going Down
AS I SAW THE COFFIN GOING DOWN

My heart bled
My eyes turned red
My aunt said
My child don't be sad
Because of pain
I was even losing my brain
My tears were like rain
Flowed from my eyes now and again
I was told this too shall pass
And my joy will grow...

Premium Member A Coffin For Two
Today's not one of my better days
Even I have 'em every so often
Believe me mine are rarer than most
Will be chuckling even in my coffin

Sure hope it doesn't freak someone out
And another kicks the bucket as well
A couple of funerals for the price of one
Coffin...

When Her Brave Son's Coffin Arrived
She kissed her dead son's face
cold,pale,white and lifeless,
then started talking to him
as if he was alive,
or her words would revive
him,from his deep sleep it seemed;
her blank vision looking
past this cruel scorching
moment,for a fading dream.

Premium Member The Man In the Crystal Coffin
Laying in your crystal coffin
I look at your eyes
Eyes that died ages ago
What could you have seen in your life?
Were you a king?
Worshipped as a god
Honored with gold and jewels
Were you a slave?
Beaten and tortured your entire life
Worked to death in the name of your...

Tight like
coffin,
black like
nightmare...
The coffin-maker likes his black tight
wagon, driven by the mare at night....

Coffin of the Heart
Hearts are like:
COFFIN DOORS
 they hold dead forgotten things
and ENGRAVED upon them are
long gone NAMES
of someone you once
LOVED.
They are buried and hidden
away from the eyes of man....

Free Cee Too Often a Coffin
TOO OFTEN A COFFIN

I’ve faced the familiarity of faded fascination
I’ve let the loveliness of a lady become unspoken
I’ve examined the exclamation mark of exhilaration
And let beauty allow my blackened heart to be broken

I have haunted harbors and arbors alike
I’ve searched for the most perfect...

Premium Member White Coffin
In a white empty coffin
Angels lay in wait
For today the preacher is late

In a white empty coffin
Silent nights filled with piercing screams
You may call them nightmares

The grim reaper calls them dreams
In a white empty coffin
Snow storms hail from above

A blanket of death over
Those who breathe...

The Coffin of Human Race
Year is 3035
And here I lie in my capsule
Waiting for the great End
Or may be deep in my heart
For an Alchemist
To come and show me
Some light
Among this dark plight...

The chemicals I used
To make my Oxygen
Is almost finished
The pills I take for vitamins...

The Coffin Sways
The coffin sways;
The people grumbles;
Popping out drinks to libation,
Pacifying with the ancestors to receive the deceased;
As so is thought of the content in the coffin
Unwilling to depart into the grave:
The coffin sways, and what is thought dead,
Has awakened from a long lasting coma;
Kicking and...

A Coffin
My heart is a coffin, to tell you the truth,
With each beat a nail to obscure your youth,
Together, upon the velvet cushions we lie,
Coverlid, our roof, lying but in truth.

Oh how sweet it is, our mourners to see,
Stricken with grief, everyone but we,
Though our eyes...

Coffin Trash
Instigating violence instead of defusing a situation. Shoot me in the face and get a month's paid vacation. Celebrating death down there at the station. The ones you've killed will watch you as you sleep.

Mouth breathers and cop callers. Black and white, no grey area....

Obsequies for a Queen
(Elizabeth II 1926-2022)

Are we - crow, blackbird, sparrow -
aware of what's occurring?
We cannot tell, they assume,
but gape and gaze from up here.

This is a land with a departed monarch.
We - sparrow, blackbird, crow -
flit or sit above the richness
of that marching red regalia.

Thousands of arms...

Moonlight On Satin
I raise the lid so slowly,
My hand on soft satin;
I hear the creaking hinges
As moonlight seeps within.

My bleary eyes encounter
The dank and wooden floor,
Time to appease the hunger,
Not once but ever more.

I turn the ornate doorknob
And what a sight I see,
A river of flowing forest
Down...
