great cyclops of fire
you who keeps the horizon
far out of my reach
no closer than yesterday
not nearer me tomorrow

a symbol of hope
I find no truth in those words
you leave me each night
drowning yourself in the sea
leaving me cold and alone

in chill of darkness
no refuge from my despair
shadows cling to me
abandoned, my hope is dead
don't shine on me in the morn'

Premium Member You Cling To Hope

Unrequited love is shallow,
lacking depth; it cannot float dreams.
And yet, you'll forego happiness
for a lifetime of silent screams.

Both tormentor and destroyer,
doubt devastates your sense of pride.
A heart that craves a love denied
will wilt and slowly die inside.

Unattainable dreams fuel
frustration, anger, and remorse.
And they attack reality;
striking with irrational force.

Truth restricts the expectations
and anticipations of youth.
And yet, you have fallen in love,
acknowledging no other truth.

Feeling lost, nothing seems real,
drowning in tears, you cling to hope.
For rejected hearts often break;
finding they’re unable to cope.

It’s when
the gardener tends
the orchids
One observes the fact
That
They cling on to greater trees
Like children
much rely on their parents…
These gain
their sustenance
out of august trees.
This is the same with
Climbers and creepers as well…
Do human beings cling to God
And get oriented?

Cling To That Hope

CLING TO THAT HOPE

Though you may never understand the reason for this trial,
Why suddenly your world caved in and took away your smile,
You still can reach out to the Lord, and He can help you cope,
So place your burden at His feet and cling now to that hope.
Though many questions plague your mind, you wonder what went wrong,
The storm that you’re now going through has stole your joyful song,
You still can draw near to His side, His promises can claim,
So take your grief and tears to Him and call upon His name.
Though suddenly your life is changed and you feel left alone,
There’s one who never left your side and all your cares has known.
It did not take Him by surprise, His comfort now is here;
If you will just now call on Him, you’ll see that He is near.
It’s hard to look beyond what seems the end now of your rope,
But He is at the other end, so cling now to that hope.
Our words have such a limit now, there’s much we cannot say,
And we, too, do not understand why this has come your way.
But we know you can call on God and we know you will find
His words of comfort, promise, too, will calm your troubled mind.
Somehow this all will work for good, though that is hard to see,
But God’s grace always will endure; in Him’s security.
God’s promise says your loved one dwells now where life’s weights are broke,
So place your faith in Him right now and cling now to that hope.

I Will Cling To Hope:A Poem For My Son

I will cling to hope As I clung to the picture of you approaching over the horizon
I will cling to hope As I clung to your mother’s hand with you kicking your way into life
I will cling to hope As I clung to silent sleep on wooden benches waiting in a corridor
I will cling to hope As I clung to your crib and your mothers peaceful sleep of bearing a son unto the world

I will cling to hope

I will cling to pictures of you smiling as I cling to the shade protecting you from the rays
I will cling to hope Watching another dawn for you of the Highveld sun
Watching you toss and turn as if your dreams are mine and to this hope you clinging too.
I will cling to hope as I cling to you.

I've been caught in tempest winds
with hurricane strength, they have blown
I've been guilty of committing many sins
and poor seeds, sometimes, I have sown.

I've worn a diamond on my left hand
and took it off when my marriage ended.
A symbol of love was my wedding band,
thrown away when my life was defended.

I've walked in the midst of pouring rain
heard thunder crashing all around me.
I've felt physical and emotional pain
until I knew I had to set myself free.

I've stood in a cane field and one of wheat
watching storm birds rise and take flight.
At times I wanted something more to eat _
and times I cried myself to sleep at night.

I've wakened in the hush of a quiet morn
wondering why the birds weren't singing.
And then I remember why my dress is torn.
In my head, bells peal out their loud ringing.

I've looked at stars glowing above my head
and wish I could see them twinkle at dawn.
I've tried to forget my sorrow and stay in bed
with shades and curtains pulled and drawn.

But there is one hope to which I always cling.
It's comfort in knowing that my Father cares.
He's the reason I still have the courage to sing
and the weight of all of my burdens, He bears.

Premium Member Cling To This Wood

In silence, a gaze skyward,
   Where a myriad toppling
      Glitters of sun dusts dance.
   Behind clutch of hands,
  Or is it bark, befuddled.
Head resting, obliterated words,

Come! stumbled form
Forget! lips and sound.
Remember! legs entwined,
Hold tightly! from behind,

As if bark on the ground.
One hand lifts a palm

Raised to the sun, shut down
Tired eyes. Thoughts disjointed
Remember the name, a name.
Tree oh tree, it is the same,
Remember me, this sore
Body was once cogitative.

Give in, fuse!
Cling to this wood as final.
  Hear a distant name,
    Faint familiar sound, same
     As once called, a wall
      Plummet into the sun

Too bright, a hand closes softly painful eyes.
Rumble of voices far away too close by
       Hands tear twigs and twines,
     Branches and leaves.
   Inside something grieves,
And hears: it will be fine.

Safe from my tree, can’t stay.
Tree, oh tree, they set me free!

I Cling To Her

Mom
 I cling to her
 As mama has a hard
 Time speaking
But I still try to listen
 To her motherly teachings.
 I cling to her
 As I walk beside her
As she now stepping so slow.
 Because I never know.
 I cling to her
 While she get dressed
And help her fix her hair
 Because the days she
 Feeling weak,
 Her appearance she
 Still cares.
 I cling to her
 When I ask her about
 Her day,
 Even though mama sometime
 Get her story's mixed up
 And she can't remember
 What to say.
 I cling to her
As I take her to her doctor and he
 says the words Heat failure
Oh Lord tell me what to do
What more can my mama go through.
 I cling to her
 Because now easily when
 She eatting she get choked
 Mama has gone through
 More than most.
 I cling to her. By

Does Anyone Cling To Pain Indefinitely

He was the most lonesome guy.
he surely didn't trust anybody
and the reasons were many;
he'll reveal his darkest secrets...
when he has shed all his tears
and realized how foolish he was!

Shunning existence for an unexplained reason
was folly; was he treated unkindly and unfairly?
Only his contrived and rageful feelings can explain
what made him choose confinement from Humanity!

The tremendous loss of his mom hit him hard,
with his hands across his beating chest,
with his bowed head he was totally lost;
he miserably grieved her and desperately cried!

Who has never felt his inconsolable and deep pain
that was never been left behind,
can't understand humanly what brought him down;
how grief persists in the sorrowful mind,
how it keeps him in a state of misery:
does anyone cling to pain indefinitely?

He was the nicest guy in the smallest town,
always lending his hand to others whenever it was needed,
he gave his love demanding nothing in return;
comfort him when he breaks down, and do a good deed!

Villanelle : Don't we all cling to Life tooth and nail guts in groin

Don't we all cling to Life tooth and nail guts in groin
E'en if the insatiable Beast glowers close behind
No matter what nor how long the grind we bear 'n' pine

Merchants of Faith made in mythic images divine
Tell us all their gods have told them what lurks behind
Don't we all cling to Life tooth and nail guts in groin

Each in his own way nailed to some Alien loin
All assured this World's for the best of Mankind
No matter what nor how long the grind we bear 'n' pine

True gods are those Men who behind the scenes combine
Thrust up Leaders who lisp words for Them who us bind
Don't we all cling to Life tooth and nail guts in groin

Children grow up and swear by their words anodine
Believe rot Batman Hulks Wonder Woman's behind
No matter what nor how long the grind we bear 'n' pine

Till that day the bubble bursts the last word on line
Shows neither Nations nor gods mean well for Mankind
Don't we all cling to Life tooth and nail guts in groin
No matter what nor how long the grind we bear 'n' pine

People With Inflated Egos

People live with an inflated ego,
They think they rule the world.
Their little souls are covered with snow,
The world is just a shooting gallery.

School is no longer an assistant,
Its functions are, alas, lost.
She stupefies children on purpose,
So that they can think little.

People talk but don't listen,
They don't want to understand others.
It's more important for them to be the best,
How to help those who are scared.

Everyone tries to bite their neighbor,
To get above it yourself.
This story, as feat told
And received a medal on behalf of Himself.

Don't tell me what I can't do,
How do you know whether can or not?
You only see your limits
And just jealous, looking after.

I always walk away from people like that,
There's no point in talking to a dumbass.
They live only in their stupidity,
And they don't know who to cling to.

Cling To the Cross

as i stand at the crossroads i take the road to the cross around roads of rampage and rivers
of blood
i slay minions and monsters surviving demonic dumpsters thinking only of the one who paid
the ultimate price and didn't one time count the cost...
i give glory to God as i cling to the cross

once wearing a fools crown sitting high upon a twisted throne
once lost in lies and left to roam
though the devil brings sadness, soul subtraction, liability and loss...
i give glory to God as i cling to the cross

through legions of demons and lunatic liars
through wicked war zones and fields of fire
through sinners and scarecrows spewing furious fear and hurricane hate
through hellfire winds where nobody escapes
as walking time bombs they tick and they tock...
i give glory to God as i cling to the cross

fallen angels keep lookin for thrills, invading bad brains with invisible drills
and you can't make deals with lead sleeping pills cause itchy trigger fingers always shoot to
kill
gravity pulls with its strong force of fate,i get twisted up and torn as i keep diggin up my
grave
still i give it to the master caause my soul has been blood bought...
i give glory to God as i cling to the cross

as i stand at the cross...now i fall to my knees
i'm free from the world and its soul slavery...i hear a still small voice and it's calling to me
"NOW YOU ARE FOUND TOO LONG YOU WERE LOST"
tears drop...
i give glory to God as i cling to the cross

I Cling To the Almighty

When words fail me
When sleep escapes me
When troubles torment me
I cling to the Almighty

Though words fail me
Though she forsakes me
Though memories maim me
I cling to the Almighty

When words fail me
When grief besets me
When trials torment me
I cling to the Almighty
