Cling To That Hope

CLING TO THAT HOPE

Though you may never understand the reason for this trial,
Why suddenly your world caved in and took away your smile,
You still can reach out to the Lord, and He can help you cope,
So place your burden at His feet and cling now to that hope.
Though many questions plague your mind, you wonder what went wrong,
The storm that you’re now going through has stole your joyful song,
You still can draw near to His side, His promises can claim,
So take your grief and tears to Him and call upon His name.
Though suddenly your life is changed and you feel left alone,
There’s one who never left your side and all your cares has known.
It did not take Him by surprise, His comfort now is here;
If you will just now call on Him, you’ll see that He is near.
It’s hard to look beyond what seems the end now of your rope,
But He is at the other end, so cling now to that hope.
Our words have such a limit now, there’s much we cannot say,
And we, too, do not understand why this has come your way.
But we know you can call on God and we know you will find
His words of comfort, promise, too, will calm your troubled mind.
Somehow this all will work for good, though that is hard to see,
But God’s grace always will endure; in Him’s security.
God’s promise says your loved one dwells now where life’s weights are broke,
So place your faith in Him right now and cling now to that hope.

Dedicated to the family of Jay Wilhelm.
