Best Begun Poems
Hello January it's been a year
Now it's time for you to share
All the wonder and great things
This special time of year brings
Soft white snowflakes that are falling
Cool slow breezes that are calling
You inside to get more warm
Cocoa's and blankets keep you calm
When the wind starts to blow fast
Against the windows it will pass
But your inner kid comes through
As you slip on rubber boots
Acting crazy and insane
Not caring about the pain
That's on your fingers and toes
Happiness begins to glow
As you play and act so young
While another years begun
And January leads the way
To more cold, then sunny days
Never knowing what will come
As a new year has begun
Life is not about being perfect, as there is no end to it,
Yes I can just be human, and half the battle is won.
I am surrounded by shadows of people, good and bad,
Yes I can make my choices, and will have regrets none.
If I try and don’t succeed, I won’t quit and be quiet,
Yes I shall work harder, until the job is done.
The path of life is tough, with no strings of velvet,
Yes I shall bear the odds, clouds can’t swallow the sun.
There are times when I get hurt, and I am in silent tears,
Yes I will save my heart from the unwanted one.
Let not my foes conquer my inner soul and win,
Yes I will change myself, and the journey has begun…

Four years of high school,
everything seems so cool.
Not thinking of how everything goes so quick,
the thought of leaving makes you feel sick.
from the start of it all,
you start to bawl.
Not ready to go
you have to let everyone know,
how thankful you are
for getting this far.
You look down
and see your gown
as green as can be
it’s time to be set free.
You hear Dr. Ladd call your name,
your mom’s smile doesn’t look the same.
She smiles with tears in her eyes,
she’s afraid of goodbyes,
as you walk away for college.
You then begin to acknowledge
adulting is hard,
but you won’t be scarred!
With your Diploma in hand,
everything is just as planned.
You start to feel like a man,
your life just began.

I sip on the nectar a’ bloom in your smile,
sweetest surrender now tickles my lips
Warm in its drizzle of marmalade style,
sticky in ecstasy’s sensual drips
Tasting forever on soft satin skin,
moistened my grin in aromas so pure
Flavors of love now inviting me in,
lost in the folds I have longed to adore
Dampness collects on the edges bliss,
wet to the touch as our fingers entwine
Parting excites in the probes of a kiss,
drowning in passion’s delicious design
Held in your grasp as directions proceed,
sensing the arch of this romantic night
Melting as one in a blossoming seed,
pulling you close, holding ever so tight
Wishes proceed every movement I make
drenched in a dream far too good to be true
Fragrance intoxicates as I partake,
perfectly heated this rose petal dew
Deepest desires now form as I trace,
satisfied wonders of sensual sighs
Pleasure begun with the smile on your face
finding its end with the look in your eyes

On swift wings, blessed by the light,
who pours out the melody,
scriptures come to life – in the song,
joyful noises, crafted by hope,
soothing away the dark, coloring the life
in gentle truth, praises poured out,
all through the music, songs drifting,
on the edge of a heart – rhythmic, beyond the winds,
who remember only the showers,
the storm who haunts with its whisper,
blessings gesture to the souls who recall…
on swift wings, they soar, gliding through the skies,
at peace with the graceful sun, at peace…
they seem to sing, ‘just see what God has done’,
“J U S T S E E… what God has done…
And, He has only just begun! He has only just begun!!!!
Two Sweet Gums wedged side by side
One of the two has died
Crimson leaves of the living left
Life and death side by side
Stark bare limbs of death against blue
Still reaching for the sun
Gradually the limbs decay_fall
Never leaves where begun
He Has only Just Begun
He has only just begun creating new days
whether inside hours
or by the river that flows from the throne of the Lamb.
He has only just started planning for fresh sunsets
in loving hues never witnessed
on Heavenly streets or asphalt highways.
He has only just started rolling out plans
for forests and fields
savoring teas brewed from leaves with healing for the nations.
He has only just designed new mansions
by still waters
in hearts that live beyond marauding midnights.
He has only just begun to give birth
from the eternal womb
for such a time as this.
He has only just begun a new work
in you and me
that the carpenter completes and finishes.
I am being very modest
Always so trying my hardest
Not to stare in your direction
But there's some kind of connection
That I feel in the air
Every time that I am near
And see your sweet loving eyes
Something in me stirs and sighs
But my affections are far fetched
Your hearts been pushed far and stretched
To the limit with bad loves
Now it's treated with kid gloves
You are careful and aware
When your heart beat starts to care
Because you've been burned a lot
Every time a new love starts
So I admire from afar
Afraid to leave another scar
On your loving heart that's been
Blown away into the wind
Patiently I'll wait until
A new wind comes in to fill
You up with a new desire
To light up a raging fire
And I will carefully handle
The spark that lights up the candle
That will soon be high and scorching
And I'd be no longer watching
From a distance any longer
As this flame is getting stronger
Letting me inside your soul
I won't break--just keep it whole
of late when I wander through
an obstacle without relief,
throbbing breaths heave into
evenings dark as raven's plume...
and the crux of angst welcomes
my own fables, my stories
reflecting glassy eyes immersed
in cries and doubt.
as space of uncertainty drowns ,
I wrestle with faith on edge...yet in slow
motion, cool breezes fill
the vacant gaps
allowing my sighs a meditative
peaceful pause. Looking around,
I find new blossoms touching
my face, a heady pleasure tasting
heaven's gift... my soul surrenders.
O He is always on time with blessings
anew...on hours when dark and light
blend with God's holy evensong.
Her Journey Has Just Begun.
Don't think of her as gone away,
her journey has just begun,
her heart held too much sadness,
for her to happily go on.
Think of her as resting,
away from her sorrows and fears.
In a place she'll find warmth and comfort,
a place with no time, dates or years.
Think how she must be wishing,
that we could know today,
how nothing but our sadness,
will ever fade away.
Think of her as living,
in the hearts of those she touched,
for nothing loved is ever lost
and she was loved so much.

The distant brass haystacks tune on shorn ground.
Vanilla fence posts chime in saffron sun.
Adjacent jonquils trumpet lemon sound
as amber goldenrod and china mums
in stil de grain complete a trio 'round
high jasmine shrubs, which in the octaves run
aureolin to beige. Nearby is found
a vegetable garden where blond onions,
squash and carrots in harmony abound
with notes of maize and amber. Faun melons
grace a clef of trellis where ecru-crowned
warblers and the sunglow-breasted Hutton's
Vireo twitter in tune with corn-downed,
bumblebees and drone: summer has begun.
For USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD6)
We Have Not Yet Begun..........
Some experiences leave words
inadequate to describe them
Like standing on the flight deck
of the USS Bonhomme Richard
Witnessing at sunset
the lowering of the colors
feeling the reverence and respect
shown as the flag flutters to rest
The solemn escort of the flag
that demonstrates devotion
to high ideals and freedom
Here on a ship with a name, deeply
steeped in history I am told the
motto, "I have not yet begun to fight"
Proud words that rang out long ago
from John Paul Jones
And so tradition carries on-
in the awesome technology deployed
in the constant fight against tyranny
During this tour I have learned
a whole new language
Important messages like
"Don't give up the ship"
and how the resolve of these words
shone from the eyes of every crew member.
The feeling of team-ship was strong
among them- yet I felt
as I stood at the side of a
certain Lieutenant Colonel
on that flight deck, that I
was in the presence of an American hero.
I will long remember
my visit to the USS Bonhomme Richard
In the little booklet I was given
it stated many facts and figures;
snippets of information of a
mind-boggling nature-
but the smiles and conversation
the crew were so willing to give
will live -in my heart forever.
I will be thinking of them
"Launching into the abyss,"
attending to commands- like
"Darken ship" and I will bless them always
for their roles in defending
our Freedoms
"WE.... have not yet begun....
to thank you for your fight
Dear men and women
of the USS Bonhomme Richard."

Turquoise blue in child birth comes forth 'Tristan'
a treasured innocence baby boy by two parents and God has been formed
The creation of a new generation a dawning of a new life
making time so endless and an everlasting beautiful new light
Sired by a father who brings into being
the image of a prince as his tears show no yielding
Born to a mother of a rare and tender gentle soul
for her child she will ride the tides from young until old
The joy of a baby boy with wagons, hot cars and such
playing in the mud with a worm as a gift his small hands will clap with success
He will try so hard to follow in his fathers stand
but in his heart he will always have his mothers gentle hand
Take joy in this day and give thanks to God who has blessed you with a babe
delight in your new sons life as an angel in God's arms heavenly bathed
Taste and savor his love don't let a day pass without a hug
secure him and take his hand as he grows from a boy to a man
Capture all of his life's joy and embrace his spirit
for today you've been given the breath of life to a baby boy
now called Tristan who carries your lifeblood.

We've Only Just Begun
We anticipate the promises of which they speak. We embrace the kiss of luck they taught us to seek.
No doubt, sometimes we'll cry; but we'll look to the sky and start to fly.
So many challenges are so high above our heads; but we'll focus well and experience things we never read.
Our fares are paid and we're unafraid, because we've only just begun. We are sometimes unrehearsed, but always feel the oneness of our unity.
We are not rushed, and feel no compelling brevity. We long for the evenings that refresh and make us smile;
even though we know we can only rest for a little while. We know that there are so many places for us to go;
but there's plenty of room for us to grow. And before long, our lives will start to glow.

Song, "We've Only Just Begun". by the Carpenters
Was absolutely healthy, fit and fine
With Lifestyle of jogging, gym, laugh & be merry
One day ... alarm bell rang at odd time
Angiography led to Heart’s Bypass Surgery
Situation critical, Heart went under scalpel
Reports, X-rays, Veins cut, Grafts inserted
Operation successful, Health went on to propel
Heart overhauled, new lease of life injected
Am absolutely healthy, fit and fine
With Lifestyle of diet discipline and stress no more
Every day.... alarm bell rings in time
For Yoga, Mind-Body-Soul now peaceful, blissful to core
Operated, for Others Life's countdown has begun
Rejuvenated, to me Era of "By-Pass" to "Surpass" has begun
