Butterfly Beauty

From our youth, we have been taught that beauty is only skin deep;
and “It’s in the eyes of the beholder”, is what we like to teach.
Many a head has been turned, and our hearts have taken a leap.
It was breathtaking, as our captured hearts skipped a beat.
I absolutely understand this, and I do tend to agree.

I have witnessed the carefree and feathered beauty of butterflies flying by.
Such artistic mixtures of colors often arrest and capture even this stoic guy.
And I’m reminded that such beauty was earned in a cocoon, and not given.
It was born out of strength and patience, and not made up quickies.
Time was crucial, and the work was hard, as the moth long endured.

The butterfly has taught me that beauty develops in stages and unfolds over time.
I must continue to learn to wait and dutifully labor through the hard times.
Millions of the Monarch Butterflies spend their winters in Central Mexico.
Come Spring, may I too, like butterflies, spread my wings and take flight.

crazy beautiful

I'm crazy beautiful
or plainly insane
I consider insanity
to be a personal gain
perpetual bliss
or so the surface shows
hidden secrets
no one can know
inside i want to scream and shout
im a jigsaw puzzle
with a million broken pieces to figure out
I'm an intricate web
you try and untangle
dont get to close
you may fall and strangle
my scratch is a cut
that sorefully deepens
a painfull wound
in which my memories seep from
I'm a gift to the world
one nobody can keep
I must be plainly insane
my beauty is only skin deep

Cliche Confusion

They say "money makes the world go round" I really don't understand
I thought it was a magnetic field not something made by man

They say "don't count your chickens before they begin to hatch"
but what if my eggs came........... from a totally different batch?

They say "what goes around comes around" I'm just a little bit confused
How can I use the same fire cracker when I already lit the fuse?

They say "what goes up must come down" but what if its in outer-space??
Does Newton's law of gravity come back and smack us in the face??

They say "a way to a man's heart is through his stomach"
This seems like a very hard task, and isn't it true to reach the stomach
the heart at first you must pass???

They say "beauty is only skin deep" what does that really mean?
Is it because we bathe with soap that our pores are really clean?

All these quotes and cliches and the all around play on words
got me all confused I think its just absurd

But I can't blame anyone I can only blame myself
I should of picked up the thesaurus thats been sitting on my shelf

ugly and cheap

i may just have an ugly face.
i also maybe cheap
but i have made many "a man race"
as beauty is only skin deep.

i may not be as pretty as a picture
but i have often made a choice
and i may not be any richer
but there is love in my voice.

i may not have lovely clothes
but i can make love to you
and i may not be beautiful as a rose
but i know when love is true.

i may not have a beautiful body
but it is still kept on view
and i may not be small and often in the nuddy
but my affections are on cue

so if you rate your love on looks alone
i think I'll just leave and tarry
because you heart is colder than stone
your the type for me not to marry.

Poem from Scratch

“I don't care what anybody says about me as long as it isn't true.” -Dorothy Parker
“Beauty is only skin deep, but ugly goes clean to the bone” -Dorothy Parker

Angels connecting
in real live
Thinking reflecting
and keeping us strive
'Say no to consensuality
that's your best quality
You've the audibility
so keep on your prosody'

Always on time
Mr/Miss/Ms/Mrs I'm...
'Shhhhhhh'
with an eye rhyme
"That heinous crime"
Jumping off the metrics
Holy sculls!
Writing isn't mathematics
Such as friendship
Do everything intensively on your trip
If you stumble in the footpath
It's just a turn on
High in raciness
No Life Span
In the wrath
I am You Sylvia Plath
Nightmares and Dreams
In your life
You were anarchical
one of a kind
my new heteronym
named Wolfed Golf
because is worth being Virginia Woolf
In my paintings: pastels oils pencils and markers Paranoia(s) converter(s)
In being a reporter
In my disorder
sometimes being dark and darker
I am you,

Beauty is only skin deep

. BEAUTY IS ONLY SKIN DEEP

When I walk I hold my head down.
Very shy and always carry a frown.

A little meek and hardly ever smile.
Everyone laughs cause I have no style.

The way I wish I was is only in my dreams.
Because of my bad self esteem.

The way I feel is oh so true.
"I have dipped my pen in the sublime, it is my gift to you"

I have no friends and no one really cares.
The way I look makes people only stare.

When I see myself all I do is weep.
Mama says sweetie beauty is only skin deep.

She looked at me and said you remember this
you close your eyes and make a wish.

Life is what makes you who you are.
Be a good person and that will make you a star.

Girl On A Train

In the early morning rain
I saw a blossom fall
landing softly on the garden wall
and for a moment I tried to recall
that girl I met on the train

I had a second cup of coffee
as I tried to remember her name
looking out on the rain, wondering if she even liked me
Well, beauty is only skin deep all the same
But would I ever see her again?

Indeed it's a small world
My friend told me he had also met a girl on the train
as he described her to me
I knew it was the very same girl that I had met

He had gotten her phone number
And said that they might soon go on a date
But he couldn't remember her name
I wondered if her heart he did win
But I found out later she had a twin!

From the Title: early morning rain

Beauty is only skin deep

My thighs may slap together My bum, it may be huge But if you look a little deeper You'll find my heart is true My stomach may be rounded My bingo wings? Disaster But my friends will always stick around While yours will leave much faster Everything may wobble On my walk across to work But the smiles I get are genuine While yours are just a smirk I may have got a second chin And be all over flabby But you get your joy from others pain While my friends make me happy So while your comments hurt me And make me sad and worry I can't wallow in self pity As it's for you that I feel sorry

Her Return

Her return Written: by Tom Wright She was like "Ghost Smoke" emerging from ashes past; Today's inner likeness, now sequestered, from days remembered; Absented days, I tallied as grains of sand, and earlier thoughts of her, though too few to catalog, I occasionally recall; In my eyes, her new inner beauty makes liars, of those who proclaim that "Beauty is only skin deep" For God, has shined His light into her heart, and she is changed.

Ugliness

But I can't help the ugliness I pour
And the mirrors I break and the veil I keep
Why is beauty something but ugly something more?
And good people are cursed and beautiful princesses sleep

And the mirrors I break and the veil I keep
There are masks I wear and lies I tell and reap
And good people are cursed and beautiful princesses sleep
But now curses aren't broken and beauty is only skin deep

There are masks I wear and lies I tell and reap
Why is beauty something but ugly something more
But now curses aren't broken and beauty is only skin deep
But I can't help the ugliness I pour

Queen of the Fairies

Ill-tempered Elfin Queen, would bully
and demean everyone she'd see
an unruly brat
nasty tricks thought daily that
when on her throne she sat sadly

She had to force her head in a sack
precaution she must engage to hold back
to gaze in a looking glass
so she could surpass
or the magical mirror would crack

Casting curses became her fame
enticing elf’s was her daily game
maidens that were shrouded
and barren were allowed
in her kingdom was her aim

But to her shocking surprise
all of their bellies begin to rise
the Elfin Queen was livid
she had been smarted
was blinded and they criticize

For she hadn’t for saw that right
when the sun goes down and the lights
go out humans are smart
love comes only from the heart
beauty is only skin deep, that brings sight

MIRROR

Glass can be dangerous
when broken by a fall
it can have a sharp effect
whether large or small

Glass also can be beautiful
like as a mirror is
showing clearly what we are
nothing will be amiss

We indeed see ourselves
it is indeed as we are
because a mirror shows
everything even what was afar

Why do we look in the mirror
for we show we are vain
as beauty is only skin deep
indeed inside is our real stain

Her Mask

She thought she loved herself, another lie told to the vision in the mirror. In the back of her mind she wanted more loving and the attention received.
She became a chance when different dates became endless men that conquered her body. Time worn the broken hearted touches with different men that used their chances to advanced using her beauty as an excuse. Words chosen carefully a smile grace her face, covered by the mask.
Body now worn and torn with sinful touches of flesh that burden not only her heart but force her to not love her own face or body. Make up became a mask and a deadly smile that told her story. Once she was beautiful naturally though her hateful and vindictive ways caught and destroyed the most beautiful part inside.
Personality change
She’ll never be the same by the time her innocents lost, curiosity and the need for attention cost her more. How many men can her heart love? Just words, also heard from different types of men she begged for them to just say it, “Please say it.” Words spoken “I Love You,” and lust took control.
Can she change?
What will she be like in 25 of her years, cried rivers of tears that in time blinded her eyes? Baby Girl beauty is only skin deep. Slow down your temptations your body and mind has taken the damage. Learn to love yourself, Mentally, you can’t hide behind your mask forever.

Beautiful Woman

Beauty is only skin deep
Enhanced by some sound sleep
Adorned by jewels and gems
Unusual like salt coated rims

Tender magic women with black eyes
Internal beauty in their wisdom lies
Fine lashes hide mysterious ways
Unaware men gets ensnared in that gaze

Love’s beauty that a woman wears
Wonder she creates by her cares
Our world is enriched with thousand smiles
Many for her comfort piles

And as this simple saying scroll
No one more special than a beautiful soul

Beauty

 "Beauty is only skin deep",
At least, that's what they say.
Certainly a colorful disposition,
Will never grow old and gray.

Even those with cracks,
Let the inner light shine through.
So yes, beneath layers of epidermis,
There is a one and only you.

Some people show their beauty,
To everyone they meet.
Some will need a bit more time,
Before they find their feet.

Yet others seem so stony,
Behind their rusty eyes.
But the truth of their patina,
Shows a heart they can't deny.

A budding heart is so sincere,
Breeding splendor in the mind.
And, breathtaking as it unfurls,
In the soul of our design.

Held precious by its' beholder,
In any given space.
Proves that even in the darkness,
We're bound by radiance and grace.

Dead Gorgeous

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder,
In the pout of the lips,
The curve of a shoulder,
Fresh flesh of the young,
Beauty’s elitist domain.
Eyes sparkling and huge,
Skin free from life’s pain,
No creases or lumps,
A complexion of smooth porcelain,
Ageing the ultimate crime,
The real woman’s shame
Beauty and youth are for sale,
Go under the knife, get some more –
If Beauty is only skin deep,
Ugliness goes right down to the core,
Look 50 when you’re 70,
No need to grow up or behave,
Perfect geriatric Barbies,
Pouting dead in the grave

SKIN DEEP

                 -------- SKIN DEEP --------

Beauty is only skin deep, a saying so old

Though, it seems that is where beauty

                             truly begins to unfold

                          Those criticized for being -------

        Too short, too tall

                            Too fat, too small
                          l
                                                 Body odor, teeth in disorder

        Body parts in disproportion

Facial acne not cured with lotions

Disheveled hair, clothes in need of repair

Many of these people I have known----

         Considered underdogs, oddballs

Weird and weak, flowers on the wall

Lack of self esteem and confidence

       Too different, dark humor sense

Look past and through these and you will find

                            as I have found-----

                            Delightful, delicious people !!
                            Unique and special !!
                            Loving and caring !!
                            Daring to be themselves !!
Unlike the " beautiful people "
                            Knowing their limitations !!

Not trying, or dying, to impress anyone !!
Cultivating the real, true beauty !!
                            Deep beneath skin depth !!
Helping those with ills needing care !!
Not looking in the mirror fixing their hair !!
Willingness to do the silliest stuff !!
Not caring if their clothes get mussed !!

The most interesting people with lives
                            rich and fascinating !!
With beauty oozing with every word
                            and touch and gesture !!
These people draw my attention !!
                            To experience their beauty---

IS TRULY A THING OF BEAUTY !!!!!
                             BEYOND--- SKIN DEEP--- !!!!!

Distant thoughts

Fairer to white lily is beauty of pondering mind,
Rather than lovely face, that we so apparently find,

Sharpened through acquired extensive knowledge,
Glory of sunrise, wisdom must one acknowledge,

Nature's lap of luxury, I sit and think,
Are we swindling hard on it, at a wink ?

Took more than hundreds of years to evolve,
Are we so quick ready to crudely dissolve ?

Cultivated distant thoughts come to my mind,
Romanticism to nature, why not unwind ?

Global warming , pollution and deforestation,
Can't we dedicate and devote to our nation ?

Cruelty to animals, man's worst instinct,
How many would we still make extinct ?

Gender equality another real concern,
How long will leave women to inside burn ?

My beauty is only skin deep, to delight of a lover,
Silky white gown, perfect choice of a ravisher !!

Fragile Beauty

Oh, she was so fair
Unblemished skin
Lustrous hair
Everyone would stare

Contempt for all she had
So vain was she
She spurned a smitten lad
One with love driven mad

One day when in the mirror she did preen
From her scooter she had a fall
Due pothole on the road unseen
And her face was all blue and full green

Now blemished was her skin
No one looks at her now
The lovelorn lad, Quasimodo's kin,
Still finds some beauty within

Sometimes at her folly she does weep,
Gone are her airs now,
And as she goes to sleep,
Realizes beauty is only skin deep.

hope dies last

Hope dies last

I've been living this life
That seems to have no meaning
Sometimes I wonder
If I should keep breathing

The things I seem to experience
Holds only hate and pain
People around me causing it
I'm silently going insane

Beauty is only skin-deep
Which is what some people seem to miss
Sometimes Hell looks like a better place
Than living in chaos like this

I'm walking around aimlessly
Trying to escape my past
I'm finally giving up but please remember
My hope died last

54 Precent

54 percent may seem like just a number,
A number that means nothing.
54 percent of girls think that what they look like defines who they are.
That being skinny will get you far.
The perfect hair and the perfect smile.
Hiding behind masks of insecurity.
54 percent of girl believe that beauty is only skin deep.
Everyday waking up,
Putting on a mask of makeup.
Straightening your hair to the perfect style.
Because what you look like,
 Must map out your life.
Beauty is not only skin deep,
Beauty thrives from the depths of your soul,
Out unto the most beautiful face of all.
But I guess I can’t talk,
Being as I am part of that 54 percent.

human lust- human desire

If beauty is only skin deep as they say
Into your body I would find a way.
I would pull out the beauties that
you have locked up inside
Beauties that you try to hide.

You would be the bread and I would be the jam
And I would cover you every way I can.
I would be on you like white on rice
And do everything nasty, but nice.

I would love you from the bottom
of your feet to the top of your head
You’d be so worn out, you would think
That you was dead.
Lovemaking can be vulgar or as beautiful as can be
It will bring you to a point of ecstasy.
The excitement will make your body sweat
Better than that it can’t get.

Human lust- human desire
There is only one thing that
Can put out this fire.
To fill that crave- to fill that need
Until you drop that little seed.
And when that happens a child is conceived.

A child is born because of this desire
And then it ignites another fire.
A fire to protect this child so rare
Now that you have it with someone to share.

Snow White

Snow White
Laci Nelson

Mirror, Mirror, on the wall
Do I even know myself at all
Who is this person in the glass
Is that my face, or just a mask...

Reflections are so easy on the eyes
when eyes are blind and so are lies
I'm scared of what I cannot see
I'm scared of what I might not be...

I stare into the deep brown holes
And try to look into my soul
Behind a wall I've built up strong
Are my intentions good or maybe wrong...

I grasp these thoughts
this strange unknown
of who I am and what i dont yet know
Im only me, a hopeless girl
living in an even more hopeless world...

I know I dont know
who we are
I know i dont know
where to fall
when living gets old and old gets older
to feel what its like when life is over...

Mirror, Mirror, on the wall
So whose the fairest of them all?
It's not the beauty for which i search
but things of intangibilty that just might lurk...

Behind our skin that hides our souls
Behind those thoughts we do not know
They say that Beauty is only skin deep
Which leaves a decision of which to keep
Your body or your soul...

A Transparent Mask

Be proud of what God made you
You are the only one he made that way
What do you have to hide?
Are you afraid everyone will see what you really do?
You are almost like night and day
Are you afraid someone will see your other side?

Are you good or bad, I don't know?
And I don't really care
Just be proud of what you really are?
You are just putting on a show
Who cares if they stare
But don't hide who you are

Don't be counterfeit, be real
Hiding will not get you anywhere
Beauty is only skin deep, the truth is in the heart
Shoes that don't fit have a certain feel
Honesty will buy you a meal
Look in the mirror and be smart

Rich or poor, give it all you have got
All you can do is do your best
It should be easy, not a hard task
God is not asking a lot
Every now and then, he will give you a test
Are you hiding behind a transparent mask

Beauty:

Some people say, beauty is only skin deep
But I say, beauty is transparent it starts from within
It’s like watching the sunset on a cool afternoon across the hills and along the
meadows.

Beauty is charming
It bewitches you
When captivated it leaves you breathless
It’s like a spell that works its way up your blood stream and down your veins
It paralyzes you.

Beauty is in everything you see
Beauty is you
So look deep within and you will find that beauty begins with the lord divine.
