Beauty Is Only Skin Deep

. BEAUTY IS ONLY SKIN DEEP

When I walk I hold my head down.
Very shy and always carry a frown.

A little meek and hardly ever smile.
Everyone laughs cause I have no style.

The way I wish I was is only in my dreams.
Because of my bad self esteem.

The way I feel is oh so true.
"I have dipped my pen in the sublime, it is my gift to you"

I have no friends and no one really cares.
The way I look makes people only stare.

When I see myself all I do is weep.
Mama says sweetie beauty is only skin deep.

She looked at me and said you remember this
you close your eyes and make a wish.

Life is what makes you who you are.
Be a good person and that will make you a star.

Sweet friend, it is your inner beauty that shines greater than any star in the heavens. Wishing you success in the contest with this touching poem. Dear, my physical therapist says I shouldn't spend much time sitting at a computer, but I want you to know how much you are loved and that I appreciate your friendship. Love and blessings to a true beauty, Carolyn
