Fragile Beauty
Oh, she was so fair
Unblemished skin
Lustrous hair
Everyone would stare
Contempt for all she had
So vain was she
She spurned a smitten lad
One with love driven mad
One day when in the mirror she did preen
From her scooter she had a fall
Due pothole on the road unseen
And her face was all blue and full green
Now blemished was her skin
No one looks at her now
The lovelorn lad, Quasimodo's kin,
Still finds some beauty within
Sometimes at her folly she does weep,
Gone are her airs now,
And as she goes to sleep,
Realizes beauty is only skin deep.
