I met this spaniad
Hello
Hi! Was the reply I got
Her profile captivating
My desire sprouted
What a beauty you are
An unspeakable clusters of letters displayed on my screen
What do you mean?
Hoping it was a mistake
But after repetition
I realised the boundary
We understood not ourselves
How I hope for a new lingua tongue
My heart wept
I couldn't express my love
To the one my heart draws to
I was left angered
Why not a universal language for lovelove?
Poem written by me; Olorunsogo David
I built my shrine ...
My brittle heart, sheltered to hide
Choked so often by trust's entangled vine
Strong stones, placed side-by-side ...
I raised each wall sound and tall for my castle keep
The parapets high, the foundations sure and deep
Yet ... it all crumbled to a heap ...
With but a single soft press of your lips ... to mine.

Barricade
The reason I build this impregnable wall not for comfort or safety
I’m just sick of it all
The lies so transparent tears all planned and staged
Turns this man of joy and benevolence into a caldron of rage
My thoughts you effect with such disregard spinning webs of lies
Like a spider with ease
At one time I saw you as so much more
But in truth you’re a social disease
Not caring who you hurt as you sate your worldly desire
Pushing buttons at random, silly girl you’re playing with fire
These words I write are merely a warning; it’s your choice to heed
And some good advice take
This barricade I’m now imposing, you may call it a wall,
But it’s simply for your sake
Below zero temperature
wind howls at my cheek
I ponder braving the cold
No, I shan’t even take a peek
For it’s warm here by the fire
with you at my side
The hearth crackles and roars ~
barricades our shores
Barricade the hills against the sun.
It is coming,
to break down the doors of night
with a battary ram of fire and light.
It will break through the hills and towering trees
golden arrows ripping through the leaves
sending the panicked birds into the air.
It has come to kill the moon
to put an end to dreaming
to dry the dust
and banish the jewels scattered on the blades of grass.
Rise early.
Go the fields
and try to barricade the sky.
Try to barricade the sky.
One fist in the air
With a candle in the other
The wax melting status
Of the lives that were smothered
Lining along with the march
If the cowardice was unseen
Then it was sure
There was nothing left to bother.
In the memory of the fallen
A father lost his daughter
Dragged by the collars
Her pain was greeted with laughters
With pardons and pleas
They came back out again
Evils thought to live below
But it walked right among us.
A liquid in display
Had a cheap price to pay for
Concentrated effects
But it was still not mentored
A splash in the eye
And a flash that delivered
She got herself scarred
And you still act unaware
Of the facts
With a blindfold
You kept ignoring the facts
And a news forecasted
To see how you all react
On couches and beds
You let a simple abuse slip out
But that's all you can do
It was the power I was fed up of.
Mother...
I ask you mother...
If charity began at home
Why was the country termed as mother
Father...
I ask you father...
If you are the one with muscles
Then why are not our mothers
Taller than the sky
Heavier than the Earth
A burden you should bear
But I see undeveloped futures
Oh mommy oh daddy
Though you're showering blessings
I do not see any
Parental advisory covers.
Belief and faith
Maintains a simple human nature
The nature that brings
A hope for a better future
Relying upon them is
What you all can do
But the foundation it's build upon
Must have a base too
The ghost in the attic is what you fear
And when s happen
You shed a tear
Along with me
As I feel helpless when I rhyme
That is all I can do
It is my biggest crime
And then come dreams
The results of the nature
Feeding on it
With a sour displeasure
The one on the thrones
Keep on giving orders
The blind fool people
Is it what you desire?
The world is a cave full of thorns
I forgot who I was and no longer know who I want to be
All I know is I have become a stranger
Who is this person who is supposed to be me
All of the dreams I once had faded away
No longer important
Because I no longer feel the same way
All of the beliefs I once carried no longer are there
Everything I said I’d never do I’ve done
And I don’t even care
All of the people I cherished and trusted betrayed me
Everyone was made of plastic
How was I so blind not to see
I became a fool who lost game after game that I never wanted to play
Dealt a misdeal from the start
And believed that it was supposed to be that way
Afraid of the dark yet I hide from the light
Asleep all day
And awake all night
Afraid of dying alone yet unwilling to let anyone too close to my heart
As soon as they try
I push us apart
Sabotaging every chance of happiness I have ever found
Solitaire has become my best friend
Since nobody is around
Alone I sit and wonder who I have become
I don’t understand who I am
I can’t explain how I feel and it makes me feel dumb
All alone I stopped crying because tears no longer fall
I no longer allow myself to feel
I just keep building this wall
Everyday I stack a brick on top of the one before
Leaving no room for windows
And not even a door
The brick wall I’ve been building has no means to break free
It barricading me inside
And preventing anyone from reaching me
Obstruction of emotions
No one can see
This person i crawl into
Hidden inside, it is me
A mental paralysis
Locked behind something carefree
See a true emotion
Invisible is the key
A psychological blockage
Shutting everyone out i please
To feel the pain, unheard of
A midnight summer breeze
To barricade all sensations
Good and bad aside
I resort to secrets
Holding in these tears i cried
An obstruction of all emotions
No one dares to see
This person i crawl into
Hidden inside, it is me
each burdan that falls upon me i brush away
hoping like hell
that it will be diminished from my gaze
each burden that falls upon me builds up every time
i brush it away not being diminished
just moved out of sight
each burden that falls upon me
i want to run from
yet it still hovers above me
mesmerizing my mentality
each burden that falls upon me
makes it difficult for me to establish
the barricade that i lodge around me
so as to block away the burdans that impose me
each burdan that falls upon me taunts my mind
entangling throughout my body
causing pain to flow and flourish
outside my torso
till it destroys me
causing me to surrender
On scarred walls, memory torn apart,
Stones bleed the wear of harsh surrender,
Blood flows where echoes turn violent,
While disgrace suffocates all humankind.
Iron bites, the smell of lead commands,
Terrorist — the pain charged with disbelief,
In law’s name, peace is murdered outright,
Ashes speak, indifference is alliance.
Devouring colonialism, mask of innocence,
Justice bends beneath the shadow of pacts,
A martyr land, handed to its killers.
Behind every barricade, rage stands clear,
Survival refuses to become patience,
And souls ignite in the refusal of fate.
Only at the barricade
Shall our scores be settled
Only at the barricade
Shall they hearken to our cry
Only at the barricade
Shall our strength be more strengthened
Only at the barricade
Shall they be forced to shiver and quiver
Only at the barricade
Shall they handover our hangover
Only at the barricade
Shall the slaves look straight into the eyes of their masters
Only at the barricade
Shall their quest for dialogue be meaningful
Only at the barricade
Shall we be able to swim in freedom
Only at the barricade
Shall we take over and possess our possession.
