Best Band Together Poems
There are times we are left to cope
With situations that drain our hope
Leaving us full of despair
At how some people just don't care
About the evil that they do
To good people like all of you
We are left to somehow face
That in mankind there is disgrace
And those of us left alive
Must find away to survive
As you pick up the pieces of your life
Without your mother, father, husband or wife
And some of you God forbid
Without the love of your kids
We must band together with a brotherhood
Show that in this world there is some good
Because we are together in this deal
We try to help each other heal
We seek in each other good advice
And offer each other sacrifice
We hold each other in prayer and song
As we continue to re-build the wrong
Because what else in the world can we do
Except let the light of good shine through
The evil darkness and despair
Of a catastrophic lack of care
We want you to know you are not alone
Think of America as a giant cone
And all of us are funneling through
Our prayers and hopes to all of you

The sun awakes each early morn
Bright sky glows its colors adorn
Nothing but jeans tattered and torn
Miracle of life a child is born
How come I wonder
Fly in formation at high noon
Birds band together sing a tune
Scent of lilac come early June
Summer breezes come none too soon
How come I wonder
Sun sets without saying goodbye
Sweet aroma of apple pie
A comet flies across the sky
A full moon hangs still way up high
How come I wonder

There, beyond the garden wall,
are fronds of grass and weeds grown tall
A wild rose pleads for a breath of sun
just like a child who needs some fun
A greedy shade has kept her shunned
She is watered, fed, by pearls of dew
hidden by the scattered hues
of red, and green, and swirling blues
where no one has seen, her beauty, true
While blushing pale, of velvet blooms
she fills the vales and afternoon
with fragrant gifts, that lift the gloom
She shifts and winds her tendrils loom
to trail her vines with sweet perfumes
prevailing through the twilight, soon
She's has lost her petals one by one
Tossed by evening's billowing tease
They land beneath the willow trees,
which band together, if to please
the sun that gathers with the breeze
in carpet for the birds and bees

Political Correctness
By Franklin Price
6/16/2016
Political correctness
Is what it's all about
Makes me want to pull my hair
Run around and jump and shout
I ask myself what's happening?
Where is my right to speak?
Think it's not here any more
Years ago it reached its peak
I'm not in a minority
In color, creed, or sex
My opinions often viewed upon
As a curse or witch's hex
What happened to majority?
No longer is it cool
If I say I'm one of them
I'm something of a fool
The rich and the minorities
Now politically correct
You can tell by what is going on
By the causes and effect
Rule by the majority
If all considered in its view
Is politically correct for all
It's something we should do
We need to band together
Bring the masses to the fray
Be politically correct for all
As it was back in the day

I’ve been a resident at ole Soup Creek for a while now,
For the most part, it’s a great town with folk from all over.
But through years, I've seen riff raft come here too,
I never cared too much about them; just ask Rover.
The fine citizens of this town will band together to drive,
out anyone who doesn't have our best interest at heart.
Each person plays a part in keeping the peace and harmony,
I knew that about this place right from the very start.
So if you aim to stir seeds of discord, lies, and the like,
Please, Mr, Mam, Sir, or whatever name you go by.
Can you please do me a favor and take a hike,
Soup Creek doesn’t need rift raft like you goodbye.
In case you wondered about Rover, he’s my best friend,
A German Shephard who’ll be with me until the end.

We stand up
We gather our weapons
We band together
We fight
We battle
We win
We gain power
We are commoners over
Emperors
We are the powerless with
power
They came
They rebelled
They fought
They conquered
They are Royalty to us
peasants
They command God
They are power high
Ecstasy running through
everyone’s veins
The order of things thrown into
mayhem
Chaos controlling everything
Who are the leaders?
Who are the followers?
Who are the winners?
Who are the losers?
Who are the royals?
Who are the normals?
The leaders are followers
Followers are leaders
The winners are losers
Losers are winners
The royals are the normals
Normals are royals
Everyone is everyone.

I heard that there is a group called the mean girls club.
An elite group of poetesses that some like to snub.
A strong group of women who have each other’s backs,
and band together against petty and meaningless attacks.
There must be some jealousy from some not in our group,
as they continue to throw jabs and daggers in the blog soup.
We enjoy writing our poems as we express our rights,
while others continue to only see us in a negative light.
Let us know if you want to join our supportive club,
as we continue to ignore the negativity and rise above.
I am a proud lifetime member of this mean girl’s group,
and will continue to defend my friends, that is the scoop!

predator from the deep
destroyer of amity
his fin glides toward you
voracious enemy
peace in soupdom imperiled
by beast with many names
his temperament assails
engaging in mind games
from friend to friend he turns
spewing hateful lies
his style so lackluster
to divide and conquer, he tries
victims selected randomly
he finds some won’t strike back
but others band together
planning a counter-attack
joining hands for defense
souper strength shines strong
he flees with jaws debased
to rue his every wrong

When I was young, I heard my momma say,
come here my child and sit upon my knee.
This life is filled with many ups and downs,
but you can still be what you want to be.
I was just eighteen when my momma said,
son don’t you know you got to have a plan.
If you hang around this place all your life,
you will never grow up to be a man.
Don’t be afraid of what’s there in the end,
cause it’s the journey that’s worth living for.
The only way for you to get started,
is by taking that first step out the door.
She said, don’t you be uppity with folk,
but don’t let nobody push you around.
Best be humble when things are going good,
stay positive when things are looking down.
Don’t you be spreading hate and discontent,
among the naive and the innocent.
Never once have trust in the government,
because that’s the way evil always wins.
When a few good people band together,
lend a helping hand to one another.
Watching out for their sisters and brothers,
that’s how happy ever after begins.
I was thirty-five when my momma died,
they said that her illness could not be cured.
I was feeling as low as I could get,
and hated life and all that it stood for.
I had sunk down and was feeling sorry,
thinking that this life made no sense to me.
Until I recalled those words momma said,
while bouncing that baby boy on her knee.

Inflicted is this society
Of depicted truths to matter
Does it matter
When every life doesn't matter to the same accord
Accordingly, slavery was abolished
To what effect when our minds are currently enslaved
When the only awakening comes from the mourn of graves
Theres so much to be saved, this is known
Every life does matter
Yet the matter has no volume to skin tone
When the only way is the only way
To band together
Ensuring the importance never fades
In creating the trending phase
Of change
Important Phrase!
Black Lives do matter
Our skin far from white
So the minority as a whole must also lather
The will to stand up for this pigmented matter
Black, White, Hispanic
What ever you may be
We are all created in light of a womb
To the luck of a swim up stream
In similarity of the blood we bleed
N the placenta we once did feed
Linked in red
The blood shed of our being

Thieving Without Conscience
There are thieves, and there are thieves without conscience. ..
Woe to the average Malaysia, of the latter are our elected politicians....
As the US treasury did put it so succinctly that there can be no doubts...
Malaysia as a sovereign nation has been robbed in broad daylight......
By our exalted policians entrusted to uphold our country's economy and its ideals..
By blatantly treating 1MDB as a vessel for securing immense sovereign funds...
And chanelling those funds into privately owned bank accounts...
Colluding with third parties that involved of all things, a so called Arabian prince...
Makes you puke just to think how our corrupted political bigwigs hasten to band together..
Just so that they can cling on to office and indulge in more misuse of power and plunder....
A political purist extols, Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. ..
That sums up nicely the gang of thieves who somehow determines how Malaysia is doing...
Malaysia has the dubious record of being the biggest kleptocracy case in American history...
The sheer magnitud of which involves billions and billions in US currency....
Those who have been following news about the 1MDB imbroglio since a couple of years ago..
Will recall the many evasive statements and misleading answers from 1MDB the vessel...
Through which billions of funds were raised only to be mysteriously siphoned off...
Involving convulated financial transactions that moved chunks of money across nations..
Poor Malaysians, we are still saddled with corrupted politicians and their cronies...
Hoping fervently that the big brother in the US Department of Justice will invoke some miracle...

Global warming is a warning.........
Mother earth is faltering due to global warming
Today man –made chemicals causing ozone depletion
Thousands of species becoming extinct due clearing of rain forest
Poisonous gases and spillage emitted daily from factories and Mills
Receding of Coral reefs due to global warming threat to marine life
The mess created by our own hands, threatening the very existence of human race
Man has woken up is it too late, and still no answers.
Man’s threat to nature has dire consequences by Mother nature
With the earths volcanic eruptions, earthquakes and earth slips Mother nature is angered
With the interference from Man with Mother nature, can the world survive?
Global warming and chemicals has taken its toll on Mother Nature, and scarcity of Water.
Can the world be saved against this wanton destruction by Man?
Humanity should band together and curb violence against mother nature
Allow mother nature to recuperate and heal by growing more trees
Respect God’s gift of nature without causing further damages
Educate people to save the world from utter destruction
Advise people to use alternate source of energy to bring change to the environment
Energy efficiency could also be obtained by educating people to create awareness
Fossil fuel from gasses should be done away with due to carbon emissions
Let Mother nature take care of waste products by re-using it to grow.
Let all the people of the world band together to heal mother nature for the future generation

The American Way
In every neighborhood
There are problems that arise.
Some never get resolved
No one that fact denies.
However: the other day
A big story was in our paper.
Of a group of upset neighbors
Pulled off a “real-estate” caper.
It seems the lovely development
Was being constantly harassed.
By big money development folk
Looking to make some cash.
It meant to change the character
Of this lovely street of homes
By building big condos out behind
Till someone got on the phones.
Alerting all the players
Who’s home backed up to the mess
We need to band together
If we are to ward off this ugly pest.
I don’t know the many hours
These folks spent in meeting
But saw each other often enough
By first names would soon be greeting.
I don’t know the details
It wasn’t happening to me
How “huge” a problem was it?
Just how serious could it be?
I don’t have facts to share
No details to finish my rhyme
But I know enough to tell you
Big business didn’t win this time.
These families grabbed this “bull”
Soundly by the horns.
Soon a co-operative process
With “cash” backers was taking form.
They pooled their limited resources
Each homeowner would pay a share
They’d show these roughneck players
They weren’t so easy now to scare.
They bought the land behind them
Set a plan for moving on
There may still be hurdles to jump
But for now the war’s been won.
My hat is off to each family
There may have been some glitches
But I saw no personal belongs
Out on a porch or in the ditches.
I can’t believe it’s really happening
It’s so the American way.
If a group is being harmed
All together they enter the fray.
So as the days and weeks
Progressing with plan A
Don’t lose hope or get upset
Plan B may be on the way.
Written by oldbuck Nov. 7, 2017 to tell the story about some great neighbors that joined together to ward off big business and the government process.

Am I the only one who's feeling there is something very wrong with all of this ,
I can't seem to get anybody to listen not even when I raise my fist.
How can they not see what I see ,has everybody lost thier mind I say,
Why can't they see what it is that is making them act this way.
Have you taken a look around to see there's something that has changed,
When you look into peoples eyes Lord how you can see the rage.
No compassion for thier fellow man as if they have never ever cared,
For the future of mankind and how we all should be aware.
Saw a friend of mine the other day he was acting a little strange ,
I can't help but wonder just when , how , and who's the blame.
This power and greed is consuming us all we just can't seem to stop
Stepping on our brothers & sisters as we race to the top.
Where's the love ,the kindness ,the hope and faith we use to live by,
How we allowed ourselves to sink so low I' will never know why.
Still I will contunue to spread the word which has always been,
Be good and love one another as you are learning not to sin.
Please don't be another wreck that has been pushed to the side ,
If you' listen to the one and only word you will know why.
We will all band together so we can stand tall and free,
It is one simple word and that is love how could you nor see.

Acrostic
When men were more primal, they were suspicious of all outside their clan,
they would band together for survival, still today suspecting won't give way and
lives in the heart of each, and every man. It goes by the name of indifference, the
demon that breeds with hate. Now there's been a revival, but all men are still
tribal, a victim of our fate. We all must fight this demon, for it is our very souls we
have at stake.
I never considered myself racist, because I did not hate. but I did not love; I did
not feel, and I didn't even think. Men of another color were so little to me. I did not
hate them, I did not loathe them, I just let them be. They were the object of my
indifference, said that demon deep in me; buried too deep to see, the demon that
would not go free.
It is few men that get to look within, at the indifference they have sown. Fewer
men still get the change to kill, that demon in their soul. At the birth of my
grandson Jordan, who was fathered by a race not my own. Love for that child
shined bright through my heart, so that demon in me I could see. The object of
my indifference my grandson could never be. His love I now hold, it fill the hole in
my soul where a demon once lived in me.
