Dear Penguin

Adelie penguin,
dear little thing,

black on your back,
black on your wings,

round white tummy
and flat pink feet,

your waddle is funny
and so is your squeak.

When you dive in the water
and porpoise around,

jumping back on your feet
when you land on the ground,

it’s a penguin I’d be,
if a bird I would choose,

wearing dinner-suit feathers
and flappy pink shoes.

From Antarctica

a glacial lake
reflecting snow- capped mountains...
mirror image

dripping water
suddenly frozen...
ice sculptures

two penguins
waddling through snow...
happy family

antarctica
inside my bed room...
animal planet

Antarctica

Antarctica (Ernest Shackleton tribute)

To your shores came as a pilgrim
Knowing that I wasn’t welcome
All I wanted was to walk
Across your land of ice and rock

But you trapped my ship in ice
Blew cold winds into my eyes
Wanted me to pay the price
Hardship’n’ pain did not suffice

I won’t give up! No, I won’t stop!
On the wings of faith and hope
Between sky and endless depth
I’ll walk the line of life and death

My chances aren’t of greatest height
To save the lives you tried to smite
You’ve gotta know I’m gonna fight
As it’s my duty and it's my right!

Antarctica

Remember me? I told you
I’d haunt you when the nights
got lonely as Antarctica.
You ran when I cautioned
how empty it’d leave you
to be so full of yourself,
when your wine glass overflowed
drowning your daily crossword
like a sardine without gills.
I warned you your hands
would contaminate
the naïve tongues
waiting for you to ring the bell -
that their mouths would dry up
and leave you yearning for the desert.
I was the mirror you scoffed at,
the funhouse you mocked
and the piñata you filled with helium
as if to spare me.
And when the fiesta ended
you were too proud to trade
an apology for a new beginning.
All those people you screwed
haven't forgotten...
and neither will you.

Tour boat, ice-blue water.
Five rubber rafts,
12 heroes each, approach
Antarctic 'beach'.

‘Explorer’: 'Look! Penguins!'
Rest chirp approval, focus Canons,
shoot the penguins left and right.
'Great' 'Wonderful'.

Two hours later, 3-star restaurant,
Tierra del Fuego.
'Global warming...'
from the end of the table.

Heads nod assent. Crab dinner,
good Sauvignon Blanc. 'This is great!' 'Wonderful!'
Are they talking about the crab? Or the penguins?
Does it matter?

Premium Member Antarctica - Cold, High, and Dry

Last continent to which humans did divert;
Antarctica has highest elevation.
Frozen tundra limits its vegetation;
With slight precipitation—a cold desert.

Final Earth region sighted—1820;
98 percent covered by mile-thick ice.
Compared to Australia, its size nigh twice;
Subglacial lakes give it water aplenty.

Antarctic Treaty signed by 50 nations;
Protects ecozone of this land south polar.
During high summer, full days of light solar,
For thousands of people at research stations.

Despite harsh conditions, wildlife survives here.
Snow petrel, other birds have Antarctic home.
Fur seals, emperor penguins, other breeds roam;
One thousand-plus species of fungi appear.

Though it’s the fifth largest continent in size,
Antarctica leads in average wind speeds.
Controlling sea levels, serving other needs;
Keeping Antarctic ice shelves stable is wise.

Cracked Iceberg

Chubby cream grubby against white ice
Hungry somewhat clumsy polar bear heist
Hopefully loping over to an asylum of seals
Tusked beasts bound to become tasty meals

Damp nose oscillates, catch tongue anticipates
Hook claws extend, jagging his cumbersome gait
Ungainly angle rotates blundering bear ballerina
Jaws roar frustrated, mishap sadly signals dinner

Jolly bodied, barrel stocky well insulated brood
Swivel protruding chests to avoid being food
Fear pulls polar threat away, phew! - Relax
Pack pacify, raft drifts after cold cracks

Snowy blows his nose with hankie huge paws
Lucky that chubby has arms strong as oars
Iceberg dips, whiskers twitch while wishing
Imminent swim success - in frigid fishing

Antarctica

Antarctica
migrated to Africa
Africans welcomed her
at night all hosts froze
Antarctica laughed!
and the remains?
fossilized!

Bogomil Cove

Hidden yet rugged
At the bottom of the world
Cool water flowing
High above Hell’s barren gates
High above ringed deception

Prince of Arctic and Queen of Antarctica

The prince of the north region and the queen of the south region
They have had enemies for ages and ages, and now, oh always
This hatred is antagonistic, a killer mental war. Who is the power?

Who is the owner of the ice worlds? There is only one. But who is it?
There are two ice worlds. But these two are one. North, south. One
And there are two rulers. Prince of Arctic and Queen of Antarctica. Oh hell!

They can’t meet, because there are the temperate, Mediterranean, and
tropical zones
So the hate is eternal. But this is a long story, penguins said it to me
Hate, and love together. Prince of Arctic the Peace of Love, real cold style
Queen of Antarctica the power of the war. A story on. It will be written.

Man peace
The fate is war
Love comes
End of the war

Man and woman
Together the one
One is two,
but the one.

Premium Member Miss Antarctica

Ice lady

She lives in Antarctica, She is a Beautiful and perfect woman
Amazing virgin, cristal clean personality, I love her, love, love
She waited for me as a guest, her living place is an ice castle

She lives alone there. Only alone, the queen of the ice world
The lonely queen, the noble soul of the icy world, oh love her
Yes, the perfect woman, unapproachable femininity; cold life

She gave me a guest room. An ice room, with an ice bed. Hell
I slept there, ice blue light glowed dimly in the night, cold mind
The ice door slowly opened, and she came into my room. Sees

She sees and comes closer and sits on my bed. Perfect being
She leaned on me and kissed me. We froze together. Forever.
I can not remember the time, the years, the centuries of our life

We were together for a long time. Motionless couple in love
In the love. An icy virgin destroyed my life, my heart ran away
I love you Antarctica, my dear Miss Antarctica. Your life me on

Midsummer Midnight

The Summer sun of midnight
           loves the Antarctic sky;
                Her brilliant orange cloak
                     spreads out behind her
                                         as she flies;
Beauty
         solar
            	cosmic
              		 bright -
                             It is all day - there is no night;

Though night would skulk around the edge,
		                         swirling shadows
			                           rippling clouds.

Pink banishes the smears of grey
as dawn prevails to herald Day.

Life in the depths of Antarctica

Discovery, walk, and walk in this cristal… cold world a fantastic
Amazing snow fields, wonderful landscapes, ice cliffs, feelings
Crunch of snow, music of this land, oh clean air, breath is lives

Penguins, seals, eyewitnesses of the real and ancient nature
A stunning fairytale land, ice fields, ice mountains, and visions
Invisible ice souls are dancing, living dreams, oh cold demons

Walk, walk into the land of ice, alone, oh, so nice, hearty place
From mine. Hmm, yes I am cold. Ask the ladies. But it’s so right
Right and nice to live in the cold unknown world of the real soul.

Antarctica is a clean place, my heart’s love, and living mind, I am in
Inside the supermind, wandering there in the top gift from the top life
Oh, thanks for this opportunity! dear life, I want the deepness of the life

Just walk, everything is snow, step in the snow, walk, walk, and walk.
It is an amazing snowy field, just walk and walk in. In my life, get it on in.
In this life, life is just a winning if you forget the human life. Come in far.

Walk, walk, just walk, into life, the ancient existence, crystal field life.
Walk, walk, just walk. The land is sprawling. Open space. Love of icy heart.
Walk, walk, oh, there is a deep space, get closer, there is a deep cavity

to down. We are in the underworld. Unknown world, an icy super love world.
Interesting halls in the deep world. Ice world. I am alone. Empty spaces on.
Again alone? No. – Who are you? – asks an ice demon. Looks me worried.

A human. – I answered. – From the world.
– Then go back. – said the ice demon.
– Why? – I asked.
– Because this is not a human home. – He answered.

An ice lady is coming.

Hello! – She greetings.
Hi. – I said.

Look – she says –, this is our world, not a human life
Icy world, but stay, dear handsome, now is icy your hair
Just stay. – she said. – And be a member with your heart.

With your heart. Colder soul of your life place. – She said.
– Okay, I understand. – I said. – But this is also a life; living
– Yes, this is a living life. You are right. Look around. Icy lives.
– She said.

I saw here a fantastic world. The living icy life, the clean life.
I want to stay here. This is the pure life. Back to the nature
– Yes, this is right. – Says a demon. – Look at this icy dream

Seal Immovable

More graceful in full blubber
than a ballroom dancer,
a seal slides down banisters
of ocean spirals
in ice-cold currents.

Smiling like a cat,
slipping into water,
swimming down and up,
for fish and krill and squid.
Sunning, sleeping on the rocks,
I could never push you over.

Seal - immovable.
Seal - so fat.
