I was reading Rev. Julian Clifford Jaynes' homily,
delivered May of 1919
to the First Unitarian Society in West Newton, Massachusetts,
commenting on the 100 years since Channing's Baltimore Sermon.

Rev. Jaynes had a son,
a second generation Julian Jaynes,
who was a rather well published Princeton psychologist
with an evolutionary...

Hard Work At Play
Challenging
ourselves
to be
better than
 the day
 before
Is the work
of our fun
at play
The game
requires that
we sweat
But the boss
says
 it's worth it
Motivation in
learning and
growing with
the goal of
 always winning
That's his way
by his speeches
Those
 who are willing
 to enjoy
this game
with
team spirit
He feels are
worth the
paycheck
So...

All Work No Play
Ship shape
I wake

Sun rise
Rub eyes

Set sail
Kiss gale

Boat rides
King tides

Big bite
Fish fight

All day
We stay

Reel in
Blue Fin

Clear sky
Gulls cry

June day
My way

Sun set
Feet wet

Reach shore
Back sore

Now dine
White wine

Great times
Wind chimes

Night falls
Sleep calls

Star light
Good night....

You mentioned you work with a therapist.

Has she encouraged you to incorporate centering exercises
and holistic thinking and feeling experiences
healing interior and exterior nondualistic climate events
in your everyday thinking/feeling mutually non-violent practice?

Has she encouraged you to disclose what you can realistically pray for
while making...

Work Vs Play
I ought to be working, earning
Not penning poems; pondering
About my LORD (and poems)
I may wish to share often
(Is it really SHARING?)
Someone quipped that
She couldn't accept sharing
Unless the writers had
demonstrated their caring
I would add, there ought to be serious thought to preparing
To see and answer Jesus...

Work and Play
When will I ever have time for fun
It feels as if it has been a century since I have seen the sun
I work all day,
Sometimes all night
I am so tired of this endless cycle already
And it is just begun
Will I ever have time again for...

The Lace Maker - All Work - No Play
The spider weaved its web
Over the rhododenron,
He didn't rest 'til
He was done.

Suffering and depression,
repression and suppression,
perform monocultural internal work;

While interdependent anticipation,
empowering ego-sublimation's multicultural enlightenment,
comprehensive ecosystemic consciousness,
engage polypathic external play.

This work and play mutually in/exforms,
deep meaning and wide purposed balance,
mind with heart with lung's full inhale
exhale breath's dynamic economy,
panentheistic teleology

Feeding and breeding
mind/body healthy appetites
for Earth-wealthy values
across...

Work Not Play
This is going to be a very long day
I just wanna be a kid and play
Got to work and make that money
When I get home give it to my honey
Outside in the hot sun
This job is never fun
I would rather go to the park
Play...

Premium Member Dividing Work From Play
Dividing work from play,
like noting night not day,
is useful in a left brain dominant way
yet not so good
in right and left to-gathering
communicating say.

In my most real
and sacred trust right mind
no profound difference I find,
not even any healthy reason to distinguish
secular and physical work
from sacred mental...

Spiraling of Work and Play
Endlessly at play,
forthright in work,
evolving to the tune
of passion eclipsed

Build a house with satin bricks
to etch a song from roots to mist
We all belong
Enfolded in rapture
In dreams, capture the wandering
of the soul-
if
allowed to breathe
To heavens it will soar...

Premium Member work versus play
Her apathetic attitude toward work
Caused many a boss a bit of irk
Fervent night lifer, listless all day
Many dead end jobs with little pay

At her desk she was listless and dull
Showed less energy than yesterday’s skull
Flash-mobbing and clubbing were her things
After midnight, her energy zings...

Work and Play

There is an equality
to be observed in
what seem as the
segments of life..
All are appearances
in the present moment..
(Really not a moment
but Now outside of time..)
Work and play are
simply modifications of
Now
into seeming forms:
one form or another
but the pleasure and
the truth come
from the discovery
that the same...

FUN
It's Christmas season, the merriment season

The smell of a fresh season, blooming with love

Christ the reason for the season, a song we always sing

Singing joyously, with tune so high, rhymes so in tune

Fortune favor only the brave, no venture no success

All work without play, makes...
