This year I turned the big ‘5-0’
And my body is acting strange
So I went to see the doctor who said
Not to worry, as I was going through ‘the change.’
“Is there anything I can take?” I asked
He replied, “There’s HRT
But I don’t believe in prescribing it,
Let’s try to deal with this naturally!”
You could have knocked me backwards
And I thought, all well and good for him
It wasn’t his raging hormones
Making him feel like a stranger within
He doesn’t get narked, by the little things
That before would go over his head
Or wake up at night, in a lather of sweat
And have to get up to change his bed
It isn’t him having palpitations
Which make you feel like you’re going to die
It’s not him, who feels angry one moment
And the next as if he could cry
He’s not lapsing in concentration
Or feels like he’s his losing his mind,
Because he put the milk in the washing machine
And it took him an hour to find!
It isn’t he who keeps feeling so crap
When a ‘monthly’ is missed or comes late
And I bet he never just has to look at food
In order for him to gain weight!
He’s not always taking medicine for thrush
Or constantly needing to pee
So I bet he’d be first to pop the pills
If it was him going through this, not me
So I looked at him and said “I’ll give it a go
But I don’t really hold much hope”
And walked out of his surgery, feeling as though
I could have hung him with some rope!
But off I went and months have gone past
Of getting worse doing - ‘naturally,’
So I’ve made an appointment with a lady doc
Who might take pity, and prescribe ‘HRT.’
When Mandy met Randy
Oh boy her legs went bandy
She began to walk like John Wayne …
Looked like she was in a lot of pain
But Mandy had a huge smile on her face
And her nights with Randy kept that smile in place
They have the most incredible sex life -
Randy has stopped sleeping with his wife
Randy’s wife her name is Brandy
Met Mandy’s hubby his name is Sandy
So Mandy and Randy and Brandy and Sandy
Have done a partner swap, oh isn’t that handy!

time slows to a stop
the garden trees pose statuesque-
equinox today
Nothing is quite like it used to be
Not saying everything was better then
What happened to the live Christmas tree
Instead of this one, made from tin?
Not saying everything was better then
But we didn’t pollute everything with plastic
And, quite frankly, I can remember when
Whatever happened didn’t seem so drastic!
Back then we respected our elders, ‘tis true,
Appreciating their wisdom, no googling it
When we wondered what we should do,
Most importantly, we avoided stepping in **it.
It seems nowadays, we’ve lost commonsense
Many want to tear down instead of build up
Doing what’s morally right? We sit on the fence
Evening news is like drinking from a bitter cup.
If I sound pessimistic; no, I’m merely observing
Many changes are good, but some are not so laudable
I am concerned that we are not as conserving,
And, as to fixing our problems, largely improbable.

It's all change at Crewe
Rollermakers flattened while riding Crewe's roller-coaster
The tea factory now shipping booze to the nation
chester barrie gone from cutting suits and is now selling flowers
British rail once built the engines and his now a train garage.
Rolls Royce a national treasure now owned by another nations car maker
its all change at Crewe
Crewe's university campus now educates the masses
That other nations car maker now makes Bentleys for the rich and famous
New businesses selling ice cream vans to gadget insurance
New medical centres and schools to be proud of
Queens park rescued from closure
it's all change at Crewe.
Too many changes, differences and loss
Some changes are necessary,
Others don't count the cost
Of change
Change of direction
I am sure I don't know,
This way or that way
Which way should I go
The indecision is driving me mad,
Because some of the changes
They are reckless and bad,
Change for the better
I'm all for that
Should I clap,
Or pat the person
On the back.
Who makes changes for the better,
Why mend something?
That does not need mending
Especially when serious changes
Are always pending.
And need urgent attention,
Climate change, for one
It is a bone of contention.
The force of nature is strong,
Where are we going wrong?
There are viruses in the air,
They are everywhere
Causing death and sorrow,
Heartless people who have power
Give no thought about tomorrow
Devastating winds, fires and floods,
Famine, unrest and wars
Bloodshed by many
Is this what we were born for?
Who shall we blame,
At the end of the day.
Point the finger and smugly say
Things have got to change,
As we look the other way!
Climate changed into just weather.
We watched it happen,
watched the meth-maidens and the hookers
turn pale and ill
Senators secretly paying their motel bills.
Denials fling insults at each other,
It's election fever
and we are fools or establishment tools.
Picking sides is a choice between lies
yet go vote anyhow
you're fully vaccinated now
buttoned-up tight
nothing bad could possibly happen - right?
