Premium Member Two Pairs of Shoes

Fashion hound, that I am
I have shoes for every occasion
One black pair of Adidas
Probably made by some East Asian

I only have one pair of feet
Why would I need two pairs of shoes?
I can only wear one pair at a time
Besides, I'm easily confused

Should you ever find me out with two pair
And you happen to be in a bind
I am the kind of fella that shares
Just remember, the black Adidas are mine.

Narratives or at least that's what I call them
Without doubt win hands down every time
I've deviated with limericks and couplets and stuff
But I'm back to the old poems that rhyme

Very similar to when we go away on vacation
It feels so good to finally get back home
Everytime we deviat from our regular patterns
Though we enjoy it a bunch when we roam

Guess it's familiarity that we're always craving
Friendly faces of the people we know
No hidden agendas, no scams to contend with
Just the same old routine, same old show

Comfortable is a very good word to describe it
That down home feeling when with friends
Like always being in style with jeans and Adidas
Instead of trying to keep up with the trends

Give me that plain old simple way of living
It surely wins hands down ever time
That's how I roll, I'm just a simple old hayseed
Sitting around chewing the fat is just fine

A World Without Music

A world without music, is a life without inspiration,
music itself is inspired by every nation.
No jazz, no soul, no rock, I'd probably die,
no tunes in my ear when I travel and fly.

No sound when I drive, no euphony in quiet times,
nothing to hum or sing, no melodies of delicate chimes.
Why breakdance when there's no hip hop around,
why adidas, why freestyle, they'll be no radios about.

No music, no music, I cannot imagine -
A world without music will bring nothing but sadness -

A world without music, is a concert without felicity,
if I didn't exist, would music be missing me?
No African chants that touch my soul once heard,
no mezmorizing songs from those Kingfisher birds.

No Elvis, no Prince, no Chaka Khan or Sting,
no Miles Davis or Madonna, Tupac or Alicia Keys.
What would you dance to? There's no such thing as rhythm,
You'd be moving and moving, but with no music in it.

No music, no music, I cannot imagine -
A world without music will bring nothing but sadness -

Rap It Up I'Ll Take It

It's a new thing, makes you wanna swing
While us MC's rap, doin' our thing
It's not singin' like it used to be
No, it's rappin' to the rhythm of the sure shot beat
It goes one for the money, two for the show
You got my beat, now here i go
I start to think and then I sink
into the paper like I was ink
When I'm writing I'm trapped in between the lines
I escape when I finish the rhyme
Woke up this mornin
About half past three
All the womens in town
Was gathered round me
Sweet gals was a moanin
Sylvester's gonna die
And a hundred pretty mamas
bowed there heads to cry
six in the mornin
police at my door
fresh Adidas squeak
Across my bathroom floor
Out my back window
i made my escape
Don't even get a chance
To grab my old scool tape
some call it fate but I arise
with my head held high in the sky
a kiss on my cheek to help me get by
rap it up I'll take it
in the midnight hour the hour of power
some may have to take a cold shower
got my stero blasting but I'm still asking
for prayers with a lot of layers
have something to share
thank God i'm still here

Premium Member Abjectly Blind Even With the Perfect Sight

Hurrying and rushing even at eight,
usually just to avoid been late.
been doing this for a while and I am so accurate,
the day I relent, my Boss Anger I activate,
the beauty of Nature and sight seeing, no room to accommodate,
so focused on my Job and nothing to motivate,
through the Trolley Bus I get to the Office straight,
none present yet, not even a mate.
I'll sit alone for some minutes as I wait,
and this I terribly hate,
I do not even know for how long I can tolerate.

Then one day, I deviated from my usual line.
In the Bus, taking my time and making it mine,
not giving a damn even if I reached at nine,
watching the passers-by smile so fine,
up the sky the Birds happily dine,
moving in groups like flying swine.
Just observing the 3 in 1 street lights was a sign
that my Job intoxicated me like wine
and all this while with a perfect sight, I've been blind.

The Unique Victoria Bar, I've never seen.
The "Dark-Ages" band, performing so obscene,
showing their 'half-naked' dancing body is what I mean,
and the Statue close to the Adidas Shop looks so lean.

Aha! The writing on the building is just a signature
and the photo on it gave a nice gesture,
initially, it puzzled me like a difficult literature,
but now the advert seems to be a blend of perfect mixture,
as it reads "Gym with us and better your posture"

Just understanding the popular Joke about the Pear,
It is two round Toys I noticed and a bottom they share.
Looking like one big Apple green and clear.
Also enjoying the glaring Banks with the colors they wear,
not observing all these is worse than to err,
and making me feel Nature was never near,
this is a burden I am about to bear.

How on Earth can I explain this?
It's so hurtful not experiencing such a bliss,
crying intensely like my niece,
is not enough justification for a 5 year-miss.

What will I wear today?
I do not feel good......about myself
The mirror ~~~~~~~oh how it taunts me!!!
teaseeeeeeeeees me!!!
I'm left wondering?????? why!
    Why!
                    Why I can't---- I just can't stop eating,
these sweet things******They comfort me for tiny big moments.
Fill me up with cream pies & chocolate brownies
Stuff it down---- down deep where the pain is!
Bury it with a shovel Filled with candied Pecans______pat it down
As I roll my eyes O O O O oooh that cheese cake looks sooooo good!?!!
I'll wait for my wanted, until you all go home~~~~~I crave my alone--- lonely out of control time.... Uninterrupted/ without << judging--looks
What will I wear today? WHAT WILL I WEAR?
I reach for jeans that used to looook so good
Shirts that used to show off my chest and arms
Now the lower buttons straiiiiiining-----threatening to pop!

There they are my thirty year old Adidas powder blueee sweat pants
   They fit me perfectly;0(

When Did I Start Loving You???????????

before Jeezy and Weezy
before going platinum was easy
before rock wit it snapping and leaning
before the souls of B.I.G and Pac was leaving
before the media hyped the east and the west into beefing
before thugging was a part of emceeing
before your image was the star it was words and meanings
before the girls in Compton sang we want Eazy
before Rakim told us to follow the leader
before Run was rhyming about his Adidas
before Grandmaster Flash got his first set of needles
before rappers delight pumped out of radio speakers
before djing,break dancing,emceeing,grafhetti
before I learned to tie up my sneakers
before my mom felt the kick of a fetus
before Africans were kidnapped and beaten
before Harriet Tubman lead them to freedom
before blacks were considered 3/4 people
before the pilgrims left for religious freedom
before Judas sold out Jesus
before the serpent deceived eve in the garden of Eden
before light seperated the morning and evening

Winter's End

soon we shall all be free
of all upholstered costumes
and all manners of miners' boots
that infect us with winter edema
and puff us up like flu troubled ostrich
to become angels again
In our cute adidas spikes .

New Old Shoes

Spinning, twirling, jumping, hopping
Sliding, bouncing there’s no stopping
Crank the music, blast those speakers
Gonna break in my brand new sneakers

Nike and Adidas are both the same
A perfect fit, or so they claim
Tried them on and yelled in pain
Used the lords name in vain

Nothing like a new pair of shoes
To give your feet the blister blues
Pinching and squeezing your toes so tight
Your dawgs will scream with all their might

Now I walk like such a geek
People laugh and call me freak
Let me tell you what ain’t cool
Hobbling ‘round like a drunken fool

Wouldn’t it be so very sweet
To buy new shoes that fit your feet
A hundred bucks, and for what?
Shoes that wrecked my normal strut

Heed my warning and take my advice
Great shoes come at a minimal price
The salvation army is where you begin
They have plenty of shoes already broke in

But if you are embarrassed by stores of thrift
My secret to you I give as a gift
You’ll never be labeled a trailer trash hag
If you carry your items in a Nordstroms bag

Special thanks to DT for inspiration
Your shoe sharing’s worth utter admiration

Only one pair of shoes, one purse and one dress -
Women's tough choices - source of daily distress.

I'm faithfully in love with all my shoes
With clear understanding, not confused.

When one is on the go, the others wait
For their turn for a special dress code date.

I don't denounce their origin, per se,
In every one I will step all the way.

After all an Asian make - still a shoe,
If bearing the red brand of Jimmy Choo.

I treat them all with equal tender care,
Designed they are but not designed to share.

I'd lend my toothbrush for a single use
Before you lay you feet into my shoes.

Not implying foul odour, unrefined,
But if that is the case, better me mine.

Too bad, a pair of soles, chic and sublime,
Can only be flaunted, one at a time.

The globe is fed up with stories of breakup,
Turning around everything that sleeps and wakes up.
The good and the bad play games in its arm,
Yesteryear who lived to see the legends of a wondrous land?
Champions are they that are known of their greatness,
And deep within them, the power of confidence fills their hearts with happiness.
Talented individuals emerged out of simplicity,
Turns away from arrogance and shows off the sense of casualty.
The world is being influenced,
And they get themselves never to be tensed.
Sometimes, many foster themselves with prudence,
Of course, at my side I`ve got one who is a living legend.

Identified by the title,AFIA ACHIAAMAH.
A diadem that powerfully glits.
I guess you ask much of spiritual insight from her as an offered favour?
She is an inspirer born out of excellence and speaks of profitable power.
Her personality comes from heavenly house of self-esteem,
And well to express every bit of Bible truth.
In fact, something young people find difficult to do.
She doesn`t stay just fixed in fashionable brands such as, Alexander Macqueen, Georgeo Armani, DKNY, NIKE, Adidas and others because she is born to rule.
Paramountly, she is branded with fruits of the Holy spirit making her to be more flexy.
Who dares to be her fashion enemy?

I`m a spectator to her catwalk from a perimeter,
Spotlighting virtues in her makes my whole being dwell in good weather.
The mirror before me shows her marvelous future to me here,
And deep within me, my soul sheds joyful tears.
AFIA is a rising star, and will be the best figure to be sought for in new born years.
Indeed, this my lady is seen in good look.
And I can`t afford to overlook….
Because of her love and tendency,
That I believe to be my fantasy.
GOD bless this nurse with his overwhelming efficacy.

Fashion At Moma

“Is Fashion Modern?” MOMA* asks
And so, in its new show,
The items on display are there
To let us know it’s so.

A pair of Levi’s, baseball caps,
Bikinis and berets,
A Wonderbra, dashikis, kilts
And suits from prior days.

A Rolex watch, Adidas, Nikes,
Mao jackets, too,
A leotard by Danskin,
Polo shirts (but not J. Crew).

Lipstick, flip flops, saris, Speedos,
Ties, stilettos, Spanx,
Jumpsuits, hoodies, Snuglis
(For which new moms owed their thanks).

My friend and I did reminisce,
While strolling the exhibit,
About the clothes like those we wore
When age did not inhibit.

Sneakers

When I started to jog
Back in ‘75
(When so many of you
Weren’t even alive)

The choices of shoes
You would wear on a run,
For a woman, at least,
Made the shopping no fun.

Just Adidas and Brooks,
And with limited styles,
Were the options to wear
As I chalked up the miles.

Then came Reebok, but still,
All the pickings were slim,
So you’d see the same shoes
On the streets or the gym.

But that isn’t the case
Anymore, as you know.
The selection has managed
To crazily grow.

As I sit here and marvel
At sneaker-clad feet,
I will rarely, if ever,
Detect a repeat.
