Ann was an aging acrobat
That is until she became too fat
To sit on a flying trapeze
Cavort or leap with any ease
When the tightrope began to bend
Ann's acrobatics came to an end
Workel walked a wiggly wire
Strung between two church spire,
A crowd had gathered underneath,
To see this stunt beyond belief.
Starting out with his balance pole
He suddenly heard the church-bell toll,
This very loud ringing noise
Made poor Workel lose his poise.
He lost his balance, down he come,
Flying past a bell-ringing nun,
Luckily there was no slaughter,
He landed in a pond of holy water.
Acrobatic rain,
Propelled to verdant trapeze:
Suspended in leaves.
Le Cirque Bleu
The spotlight is aglow through the gloam
The light an indigo ink modifying color
She swings her body with agility thrusting backwards
upside down, with unseen wings,
an acrobat aerials amid the roar
She looks pretty with her fan in one hand,
long tresses flowing loosely
A circus horse made of jade below
makes eye contact and an interconnection
Without movement they are in an eternal trance,
In the deep dark yonder the golden helio appears
Fiddle and banjo play for the opening adagios act La Nouba
Her leotard tightly invokes, red with flower imprints
Statuesque, still in time showing off her physique
and impressing spectators from below the fliers' pedestal
From above the nets, with ease, she imagines a
world where gravity defies, and animals and objects fly
Flights of fancy within the flying trapeze
flights of fancy an indigo trapeze ~ from above jade nets, an ease
The Circus gongs excite the Throngs in nighttime Never Land –
They swarm to see the destiny of Freaks at their command,
While Acrobats step pitapat above the shifting sands
And Lady Fat sits down to chat and oozes charm unplanned.
The Dwarfs in suits, so small and cute when marching with the Band,
Ask crimson Clowns with frozen frowns, to hold a mutant hand,
While Tamers’ whips with withered tips, throughout the winter land,
Lure Cats entranced through hoops enhanced with flames of fires fanned.
White Elephants in big-top tents boast black-tusk contraband
To regiments of Sycophants who overflow the stands,
But No One sees anomalies, and No One understands.
At night’s demise, the dither dies, the lonesome Crowd disbands,
Down dead-end streets the Horde retreats, their tattered rags in strands,
And Janes and Joes reweave their woes, for thoughts of change are banned.
To play a part in Three-Ring Art, I thought I’d try my hand –
I mastered skills, I felt the thrills, I breathed and seethed firsthand –
But destiny denied to me to taste a lifetime spanned
With tightrope walks and trapeze chalks ... excepting second-hand...
For alcohol provoked a fall, as if a reprimand,
And now, a heap, I sometimes keep the ticket office manned...
Trickle down through the Carolinas
A star so far, it's never that hard to find it
Exhilarated, you call I'll say it
integrated us all through the lines
The Jesus here will catch your tears
But why wont he just let us cry?
epic solo quasi modo
Bent backwards to see you guys
And it all falls down
We'll see you around
Not sure where I left my hat
After all I'm an acrobat
buzzing baby acrobat
backwards, forwards, act, act, act
insects and flowers are your steady diet
We love watching you, hummingbird. You are a riot!
While with others for the treasured scramble,
We sometimes like Acrobats tumble,
The message wiring across that we’re nimble
But all too soon like an elephant amble,
And like the soaked in Bacchus stumble
And like ramshackle walls crumble;
From our bellies a heard rumble
And The Once Fluent begins to ramble,
Lots of a tailor beginner's fumble,
Not good at the use of a thimble
That sometimes forces out a grumble
Before our becoming at last humble;
From our loud speeches to a mumble.
Small
squirrel
scampers fast
away from me.
Up a tree he flees.
An acrobat,
He then leaps
tree to
tree.

Using his five fingers.
