If someone leans upon an ancient tree
In future’s shade, a thousand years from now
Might they engage a wrinkle in the brow
And ponder over death of fallen leaves?

Are we not formed alike in fairness gained
Or time might choose to forge us enemies?
Would cloak, or hair, or skin of different blend
Invite your eyes to shun away from me?

If those born first, have greater weight to bear
Or yours, one day, the lift more heavy lot
Each step by step, we travel blind and torn
our crossroads come the same, or do they not?

Will one day find you leaning by a tree
And find a stone beneath the powdered dust
And wonder if it once belonged to me
To think it bone, or questions turned to rust?

A thousand steps in between
who I was and who I am now
do I wonder about the detours?
do I wish I took the dirt road instead?

Would my path have been smoother if I said no instead of yes?
Would the worries have been less then what they are today?

I guess I’ll never know,
unless I go back in time
choose a different path
choose the least attractive offer and run with it

pipe dreams that is all my journey back in time would be
‘cause I would not have met you
and you would not be reading these words....

Everything in life boils down to an immaculate plan,
it may not be my ideal plan or yours
but in the end the voyage continues
whether we want to or not…

‘Cause it is all part of the bigger picture
and
in that image is your life and mine...

We just got to embrace the journey
no matter how uncertain it might be...

Death By a Thousand Indignities

Your large stuffed synthetic sack
and the aching bones and muscles
that strain against the pain
of a planet that you're sure must hate you,
are sure that you hate it too.
Your wheels are just large enough
to allow the suicidal stride
of the dire recycler's chariot
which may really be suicidal or worse,
but what, for you, is better ?
Your muscles and bones so busy
that they don't even know the pain,
your chariot wheels so quick and slow
that they don't know what will be,
assuming that anything may be.
Your last fair job was an unfair chance
and your bosses and their trucks are forgotten,
because the bitter angry man
in Tracking & Surveillance
found a reason for you to be fired.
Your last unfair job disintegrated too
and you no longer sit on the back of a pick-up
watching beautiful women and angry men
cutting the night or the morning in half
with cars that could pay a thousand funerals.
You die a thousand deaths.

The Pilgrim’s Ghost of a Thousand Heavenly Dreams

Looking through a magical dewdrop we now see an enchanted
Chandelier, liquid-sparkling pure, where a mystical quicksilver
Mirrors a living-moonlight reflection of a thousand radiant stars.

These stars are heavenly focus points that reflect the celestial
Magnificence of Almighty God’s prescient intention, whereby all
Cosmic music forms a clockwork of ticks-tocks of a certain vision.

This vision streams and sounds throughout the cosmos entire on
Star beams with the dimension, power, and force of Almighty God,
Whilst casting a glorious panoply of light that illuminates the darkness.

The reach of God’s eternal light into this deep-dark void of the cosmos
Is known as “The Pilgrim’s Ghost of a Thousand Heavenly Dreams” that
Has an undeniable metaphorical place in mankind’s collective psyche.

This ethereal, eternal ghost by God’s own direction on our mortal Earth,
Allows for mankind’s curious interest in exploring the deepest-darkest
Crevasses of the oceans and the silent sacred secrets of the cosmos itself.

This ethereal, eternal ghost as resident in mankind’s consciousness fuels
Man’s desire, as divinely inspired, to see ourselves as a mirror-image of God
Himself, fulfilling God’s desire that our souls shall ascend one day to Heaven.

Night of a thousand tears

Another day breaks,
and I'm still here
I was kind of hoping,
I would just disappear

Since you left,
I want to, sleep my life away
but I haven't slept now,
for twenty days

I should try to work, because,
my rents, in arrears
I'm what you might call,
a guy in between careers

Bridge 1
When you we're here,
we had lot's of dreams,
but for you,
they were nightmares
at least to me,
that's how it seems

Chorus
Just another night,
of a thousand tears,
days turn to weeks,
and weeks to years
but, I'll polish our memories
like prized souvenirs,
it's, just another night,
of a thousand tears

I wake up ready,
to make the best of the day
I cook up our breakfast
in the usual way

The coffees all ready,
brewed nicely for two
Your mugs still on the shelf,
now what do I do?

Days turn to weeks,
in the blink of an eye,
I'm getting older,
and I don't even try

My life had a purpose,
when you were here
and just like a fool,
I'll wait for you to appear

Chorus
Just another night,
of a thousand tears,
days turn to weeks,
and weeks to years
but, I'll polish our memories
like prized souvenirs,
it's, just another night,
of a thousand tears

Bridge 2
I just can't get used to
being on my own
I'm not the kind of person
who likes to be alone
My heart feels like it's been pierced,
by a thousand spears,
it's, just another night of a thousand tears.

It's just another night of a thousand tears
It's just another night of a thousand tears

repeat and fade to zero

A spirit is what it is,
sharing yet selfish, starving yet sated,
a humble sky that can erupt into a hurricane,
can be an avalanche on the mountain of confidence,
it will be a maternal calm in a moment of marbled mania,
or shatter the laughter of happiness with the pompous scorn of suspicion,

This element of unapologetic adrenaline is magnetic,
tickles our tastes like a feather of silky sweetness,
shapes the clay of a body's cunning with lust lost in a thirsty lick,
bestows bravery on Jealousy and can make a fool of Devotion,
Destiny is the web of it's dance, Fate the funeral of it's expectations,

Designs dreams and shares tears with Death,
weddings and wars, crimes and kindness are famiar family,
Joy, the breakfast of it's youth,
Determination, the dragon of it's desire,
walks like weather too cool for sunshine
breathes like butter burnin in a salty simmer,
the only force known
to be capable of creation and destruction with equal ease,
Love is the name, Life is the game,
cinnamon on the breath of suspense -

Silence Says a Thousand Words

Silence says a thousand words
about joys that filled our past
and fair youth upon my lips
that once owned your stolen kiss
Can you hear me ?

Oh those lips that touched my own
like a first petal in bloom
Floral accents 've been long gone
since that pale October moon

Silence says a thousand words
about joys that filled our past
and fair youth upon my lips
that once owned your stolen kiss
Can you hear me ?

There's a place you can return to
If your seamless thoughts turn blue
You will never wander lonely
My perfume will linger through

Once again we'll find sweet laughter
It's lost echo in the sand
Once again I'll read your love note
that lies crumpled in my hand.

Silence says a thousand words
about joys that filled our past
and fair youth upon my lips
that once owned your stolen kiss
Can you hear me ?

A thousand dreams are left to still be dreamt,
To angel arms my sweet and loved were sent;
So far from here- and I just write and weep.
I write this glorious sorrow I keep.

I hold my pain within, twisted and bent,
A thousand dreams are left to still be dreamt;
I am trembling, so sad is this journey.
Tell me dear Lord, will you give me mercy?

Will these sad dreams just go on for always?
Dear Lord will you open other doorways?
A thousand dreams are left to still be dreamt,
And oh, this sadness- is this what you meant?

Just open up the door and my soul will soar,
Then it will sing and float above, and roar.
My destiny has been to grieve what came and went.
A thousand dreams are left to still be dreamt.

A THOUSAND THINGS I MISS

On this cold December eve
It’s just me and the moon
Thinking ‘bout that fateful night
You came to hear me croon
A shooting star lit up the sky
But I saw brighter in your eyes
Love at first sight, no need to try
Girl, I fell… and I can't lie

Tonight, I strum this old guitar
While my heart bleeds into the strings
Snowflakes dance like whispered ghosts
Echoes of our wedding rings
We had a love most never know
From first hello to the very end
But now I’m left with just this ache…
And a thousand things I miss

This park bench, cold and bare
Once held the fire of our first kiss
The way you smiled, the way you laughed
Oh God, it’s all I reminisce
The moon still shines where secrets lay
Between the chords and words I play
Romance was effortless with you
But silence speaks too loud today

Tonight, I strum this old guitar
I’d trade the world for one more kiss
A broken heart sings soft and low
Of a thousand things I miss

Like your hand in mine at midnight walks
Your sleepy voice, our late-night talks
Your perfume on that winter coat
The way you cried at every note
I feel you in the wind that blows
But you’re not here—and heaven knows…

So I strum this old guitar again
In the key of could’ve been
Snow falls like it’s grieving too
For what we were, and what won’t mend
Forever love, how’d you disappear?
I still reach out, but you’re not near
Just a song, a breath, a haunting kiss...
And a thousand things I miss

A thousand things… I miss
Oh, a thousand things… like this

Love, you have always been the guiding force
Truly outstanding, painting colors
Your amazing beauty dazzling in every way, with your light
Words draw sweetly, one goddess rising out, from deep sands

Silently, Egyptian queens whisper in the winds
Lifting tunes, sweetly sings a loving song
What Cleopatra was to Mark Anthony
Forever, love beyond kingdoms
Always breathing, their whispers until eternity
Looking upon a gift in you love

Drinking from the chalice, cup of everlasting beauty
Blossoming one golden, crowning treasure
Petals divine, soft, regal
Within your voice, chant sweet music of an angel
Kissing inside, happiness begins glowing
In a state of your grace

Joy beaming, pearly-white smiles
Touching your rays warmly
Within an abundance of sunshine
Opening up this heart and soul
Wishing in love’s purity
That I could travel back in time
Loving, getting to know you
Falling asleep, deeply, warmly, in the night
Holding our dreams, loving you

A Thousand Miles Away

The ocean breeze delivered it,
A cool and salty spray--
And as the mist draped over me
I was taken miles away.

Taken to a lovely place
The imagination knows--
Far away from busy thoughts
Where the orchid freely grows.

The beach was as if diamonds
And the sea was turquoise blue--
Green velvet were the mountains
And the sky a cotton hue.

So tranquil was this paradise
I dreamed that I could stay--
But reality did send me back,
A thousand miles away.

But I cannot forget that dream,
And I hope it will replay--
Should the ocean breeze deliver this:
A cool and salty spray!

Premium Member Your Face Could Launch a Thousand Ships

Just like Helen of Troy
              your face could launch
                   a thousand ships.

            Your preternatural beauty,
             arrests the air I breathe.
                        At first glance,
            time freezes to a standstill.
So enviable is the symmetry of your face.
    Your facial features, perfectly chiseled.

                Your captivating face,
                  a feast for the eyes
               Tantamount to fireflies
             swarming the charcoal sky;
even Aphrodite would bow her head
                  in shame before you.

                 Just like Helen of Troy
                 your face could launch
                     a thousand ships.

           That nose, beautifully centered
               on your heart-shaped face.
Those lips, a rounded cupid's bow.
            Those amber puppy-dog eyes,
                        brim with love
              and devastating innocence.

Oh, how your face comes alive
                  when you smile at me!
Your aura, nothing short of magnetic!
The power of your radiant smile
               could make iceberg explode
                        like dynamite!

                    Just like Helen of Troy
                    your face could launch
                        a thousand ships.

A Thousand Kisses Deep

I have woken from a dream, holding a key
staring through unopened doors
at the sleeping dragon curled up inside of me.
on my back i bare her baby born
as the dawn breaks, the black in stains
my name...
her name...
in the name of love,
in the flame of love,
the dragon rose and spawned her wings
unlocking treasures of unusual things
and yet, a thousand kisses deep
i feel to reach even deeper still
for a thousand kisses more
the will...
the rain...
the sun to kiss our skin golden ink.
within my heart, wordless art dances there,
a delicate state of trance i dare to share.
yet in her eyes,
where i stand a thousand kisses deep,
i weep not for loss, nor lack, nor lust alone,
but for love alone... tender
sweet feeling of home i grow in her warmth
my knees feel weak
as i was yours before our lips did meet
before our eyes did see the sultry stars
our hearts...
together...
they beat...
a thousand kissed deep

Premium Member Under a Thousand Stars

We danced on our wedding night under a thousand stars,
and when I hear the song "Thinking Out Loud" I am taken back;
      to that starry bright night,
            when you danced with me.
The lyrics of that song are exactly how I felt and how I loved you,
the future was ours to discover-  we had so many plans;
we were going to grow old together,
our love would never, ever, ever fade.

Oh, I listen to that song often, well almost every day,
and it takes me back to our wedding night and our perfect love;
I loved you since the first day,
            and you promised me forever.
I always had butterflies in my heart whenever I was near you,
but a destiny was written for me without you in it;
and now I find you among a thousand,
stone cold tombs- a name engraved.

All I have are the memories we made and that song, taking me
back to when we were dancing under a thousand stars.

cascading waterfall
     of moments
            slow
      to a trickle.
            time
    crawls along
    like a tortoise.
         punishing,
the lingering ennui
         she feels;
 a thousand hours
      in the day.
