Beneficiaries Poems

Premium MemberWe Go 2 War -Living In The USA

I had the worst terrors last night
My mind was in a gruesome sight
The ‘ol apocryphal scene
Insighted by the new regime

Migration bill stirs fear among
Farmworkers chant that It’s Wrong!
Phone app saves Honduran journalist
Can’t go back she’s on their death list
Can’t walk ‘n get food without stress
ICE is cold, enforcing arrests
Or anywhere, nonetheless
For a green card is meaningless

Now a tourist destination
Gaza's newest sensation
Take over plans for a Riviera
Palestine people’s tierra*
Taken; territory sovereign
New rich owner YOU ONLY gain
Who be the beneficiaries
Billionaire contemporaries

For undoence he’s called a hero
Those sacrificed their life for, zero
Those fought for everyone’s freedom
In vain forgotten in this new kingdom
Unbeknownst me how it plays out
Living in the USA, peace-out

Premium MemberJust An Empty Rocking Chair

Just an empty rocking chair,
Survived by hearts left behind,
Hearing the loneliness, the dread
Remembering the life now mourned,
By the rocker’s weeping beneficiaries.

In Their Honor

On this day, I think of those
who gave it all for a cause,
answered the call to duty and service.

I often wonder, what compels one
to make such a profound sacrifice,
how to quantify such bravery.

Those of us, the beneficiaries,
must honor them in remembrance,
our requisite duty to those who have fallen.

We must conduct ourselves in a manner
that honors their sacrifice,
show pride, patriotism and appreciation,
for this, we owe them all!

Languish

"The languish are not the unfortunate ones, they're only victims of circumstances. Let's throw in the buoy."
                              - Quote _ by poet

They become weak as the days go by,
Some even fall and die,
The elements are too feeble to prop them,
Something else pervades the realm.

Their beneficiaries are nonchalant to their plight,
They’re engrossed in their search for light,
Ignoring the attendant effects,
Jettisoning the causative defects.

The former are gradually becoming a shadow,
Around them is a shrivelled meadow,
They’re bleeding on the inside,
The writings are all on the outside.

Beauty In the Eye of the Beholder

Beauty in the eye of the beholder
Rare trees and abandoned homes
Where doors are full of bullet holes
And the wicked sun tries to dye the paint
On the walls that smell like a salty water
Of the place where mermaids sang to Ulysses.
Beauty in the eye of the beholder
Traffic jams
giant malls
toxic environment
Everyone is in a hurry
Even the guys filling the air with Hari Rama
Brining hope for no one
And money for beneficiaries.
Beauty in the eye of the beholder
I escaped to the peaceful land
It keeps me rested and maybe a bit bored
So I take a train to a bigger city when needed.
I am still learning how to love all the places
Find a light in the darkness
And the Golden Ratio in the chaos.
Beauty in the eye of the beholder
And I am trying to be the one.

Does it matter who didn't know?
Let's get on with the show!
  War is on the screen.
  Better than reality TV,
  And it's free!
Feeding us with blood and guts.
  Tears flowing from hearts!
  No commercial breaks!
Have to keep us up late,
  Our appetites will never sate.
Can't afford to have us wait,
  For the next gory repast.
How long will this war last?
  Will it have another season?
We have had so many in the past.
  Who will win?
  Before we begin again.
What are the beneficiaries of all this death?
  Not you and I!
Certainly not the people who die.
Could it be the contractors that fund the war?
Rebuild again, so we can start one more!

What This Cruel World Is About

When victims of world
           Injustice system
Speak the truths about it ,
Beneficiaries of the system
Always laugh at them.

Smugglers

The biggest facilitator of smugglers is the Force itself? Most of the youth are addicted to crystal, and ice, etc?Aliens have given free rein to youths for drug abuse and trafficking? Most of the time, the news about the failure of the smuggling attempt in the TV, newspapers is done to throw dust in the eyes of the public and the international media or to prolong their job?Who has seen Coast Guards, Customs, Police and FC officials and officers become millionaires? Smuggling at borders will never end,as the corrupt officials and customs are the main culprits and beneficiaries of this system? How could smuggling take place when border forces are there to guard and petrol the border? It is to be said
that the chowkies collect a huge amount of illegal money from poor drivers and the money is shared among the people who are rulling this system for years? We have destroyed our country with our own hands..

Political Circus

Stakeholders" cartels, oligarchs are beneficiaries of corruption.
The people and the institutions are occupied with their interests.
Corruption is the main cause of the economic wrack and ruin.
Honest people end up on the gallows.
In Pakistan Honesty is the worst Policy.

Premium MemberIn Praise of Barge Workers

Wind sweeps down the side of the mountain
Crosses tracks and flings itself across the river,
First slapping against the sides of the tugboats
Causing the deckhands to shiver and curse
As they check the lashing between the barges,
Several days before they reach the sun
And longer still before arriving at the delta,
In the meantime, they work as fast as they can
with pea coats fastened against oncoming blasts
Of bitter chill, and careful avoiding icy patches
On the walkways of the behemoths they tame
Young men romanticize working on the river,
Unaware of the dangers, seems an easy job.
They do not know of bodies mangled, crushed
Chain unhitched, a single misstep, a sudden jerk
When least expected, pay beneficiaries for a life.

Reaching Eighty-Five

Reaching eighty-five

 All of a sudden I’m eighty-five
and start remembering of things past
and begin to think to relieve the burden for my children to bear
I begin to think and stare.

An introduction to the roll of hospice
funeral arrangements, crypt for final justice
mausoleum. plot, cremation
which of the above for my final damnation?

Where, when , do I begin to plan
the removal of my things past?
Mountains of books, files and photos galore
where does one put all to store?

Family harmony, wills, insurance
promised treasures
all for my beneficiaries assurance.

Premium MemberWe Are Accidents

Today, I was missed by a bullet
fired by a sniper in Syria,
a runaway train 10,000 miles from it,
and every swing of the
Grim Reaper’s scythe in between.
A repeat of so many days
of good coincidences.

Life is but an accident of time and geography,
we the beneficiaries of a random amnesty.

Tomorrow, I shall rise
and raise song unto the vaulting blue
for my privilege of sun.

Troubled Stomach

Troubled stomach he carries
Itching, aching and scratching
On wheel chair he goes to doctor
Weeping gnashing teeth, worried
With stomach pain, stammering lips
Big baby is recommended for surgery
In the stomach were foreign bodies;
Taxes, bills, wages, bribes, donations
Aborted project money and loans
And the doctor advised him earnestly;
“These have caused ulcers and aches
Don’t eat these things again, big baby
Never will you survive if you disobey
Second operation you must avoid
Tears of the would-be beneficiaries,
have penetrated your stomach.”

Lighting Shadow

In this wonder continent
some come with eagerness
singing liberation songs
to distressed souls tortured
in their hands light shines
in their hands, candles are seen
in their hands torch of life flickers

Let them settle down on stools
light, candles, torch disappear
and all the way through
keep busy lighting shadows

They ask the beneficiaries
to harvest from the light
cast by shadows of charity

Word For Today: Patent

WORD FOR TODAY: PATENT

Ideas and inventions have commercial value if packaged as a PATENT
The document legally prevents any unauthorized use of the CONTENT
Many inventors have been plagiarized because the attack was LATENT
Pirates usually have subtle ways of stealing ideas; they hide the INTENT
Harsh reality is these beneficiaries of others’ sweat are INCOMPETENT
Registering trademarks, ideas and inventions make them quite POTENT
