Premium MemberWhen Something Special Happens again

We were worlds apart, yet when words were selected
Something special happened, and we became elected

We chatted about our families, us in generalisation
Our works, our likes, our wants, to familiarisation

Next thing we knew, I, flight booked, nigh on 8000 miles
Upon landing at 'Ninoy' to be met with hundreds of smiles

McBlimey, I said to myself, is Eloisa amidst those faces
Even my eyes focusing in, struggling their radar traces

On the exiting from arrivals, I heard a sweet voice say
"James" as I turned around, my focus in smiling stay

Taxi pickup, hotel bound, with chitter chatter, we're sound
Week to week passing we're sweet, on Philippine ground

Intramuros, Batangas, Santa Rosa, and onto Lake Taal
Me loving Volcano's, we Tagaytay, looking down in thrall

Having seeing the aforementioned, to Manila we'd head back
So, so hard to leave this lush, and so hope there's no wrack

I'm now standing in the middle of the road, waving goodbye
She never turned, turnaround, we two, too emotional in cry

Premium MemberTwo From the Soup Plus One

Writing was our passion a few years ago
Scribing writes of many, themes, topics
Amidst the Soup of our poetry posts
Via a climate cool and so very tropic

Writes were read, comments aplenty
Thrall began to meld and duo's became
Co-writing poems, the fusion of minds
Creating anew, two writers now aim

Our joining of thoughts drew us close
Feeling that the writing had to be felt
So the only way to determine such
Are future cards and how their dealt

To Manila where we met, minds set
Conversation growing, present, past
Visiting Batangas, Santa Rosa mmm!
To Taal, two poets fused hopes to last

Days weeks to months, passed apart
Longing for bands to cement two souls
The knowing that soon we'll soon start
Melding our wants to achieve our goals

We're now close to five years together
Ducking and ecstatic at what live throws
For two became three, Jamie and thee
Our hearts in absorb watching us grow.

Premium MemberWhen I'D First Seen Her

When I'd first seen her
I thought oh my oh my,
This is the face whose words
Wowed my thoughts to sigh

I'd have to say I was captivated
From a reading point of view
It wasn't until I'd read further
That us writing gradually drew

Then there came that moment
That would change my life for sure
It was time for us to meet
To pull our writes to pure

We met in the busy hub of Manila
Ninoy was where she waited
This Highlander whom she captivated
Whom now has become so sated

We holidayed amidst the beauty
In the lovely Philippines
Intramuros to Batangas
In the Enchanted Kingdom she gleamed

Then the days and months
Progressed to growing hearts
Although eight thousand miles
Knowing our futures in start

I'm smiling as I look above
Simply knowing where we've been
We're Mr and Mrs Fraser now
Sharing the Filipino Scottish scene.

Premium MemberDominating Batangas

Twins in a twin-set
are looking up at a sign -
"Dominating Batangas".
It means nothing to me.

The sign is peeling
and it's above a closed shop.
"Dominating Batangas"
is all there is to see.

The twins in twin-set
have their arms crossed behind them.
They walk away from the sign
and they leave it to be.

I, too, wrote a version of "Watery Sun"
as well as the poet who won for his
version in that contest, and indeed the
title was my idea. The date of my
poem is 11/25/2015.

Premium MemberKiss Me Quiet

It's near midnight, whilst we moonlight walk
Palm tree lined fairway, Crickets singing
Hands clenched in loving vacationed talk
Hearts in wanting pound, Batangas is bringing
We, she and I, now amidst our intending lock
Serenity is the scene blessed by lunar watch
So late, but joyous we, soon our lips are speaking

Clouds now hover as we witness natures rain
Our apartment is distant, we welcome given
Through broken lunar light, stroking her mane
My hands in taken then, sensuously they're driven
Kiss me quiet is whispered, hearts now in reign
Walking, slowly walking, absorbing to us this night
Hearts in touching pound, Batangas has brought

Barong Tagalog: Carrying the Style and Wearing a True Legacy

Strands of satiny pineapple fibers
From the superbly prickly pieces of leaves
Refined by the nifty naked hands
Of the great sophisticated artisans
Beyond this unequaled plant
Is a peculiar product exist
Only native Filipinos - Tagalogs can procreate
An art of aesthetic craftsmen
The fabric of my historical breed
Versatile apparel suits for formal affairs - weddings
From 20 meters of silk processed and produced - four months
Nation known as PEARL OF THE ORIENT
Exaltedly introduces this "BARONG TAGALOG"
Through cordial hardworks and artistic thinkings
A lifetime masterpiece dominates the Philippine Art
A cloth woven by faith and ornamented by passion
A cloth designed by heart and given birth through life
A cloth perfected by artistry and embroidered by fidelity
For native Batanguenos, this is their breath
Respiring together as they brocade their future
Future that depends on THE PHILIPPINE NATIONAL CLOTH - BARONG TAGALOG.
