Endless Devotion

Love is everything,
A game, a passion, a dream.
Basketball, my greatest love,
So tiring, but so much fun.

Though I cannot play today,
An injury keeps me away.
Jumper’s knee, it makes me wait,
Oh, what a shame, but I still won’t hate.

The pain, the cramps, the hard work too,
But it’s worth it for what I do.
This game is part of who I am,
It lifts me up when I feel down.

My love for you will never fade,
Basketball, you’ve made me brave.
You’ll always be my favorite game,
Forever I’ll love you the same.

Love Jones

Before my first kiss or chivalrous embrace
A throbbing pulse in my heart started to race
Sweetly, my love for you began to grow
Knickerbockers I love to watch and I never miss The Lake
     Show
Every time I see you, inhale you and hold you in my hands
This sweet sensation I feel most will never understand
Baseball is cool and I like the 'old pig skin'
An all-American pastime that warms my heart and makes
     me grin
Love Jones I got for this beautiful brown round thing
Love Jones I got it, and it's not just some fly-by fling

Yousef Al-Mutairi: Kuwait Basketball Star

In Kuwait's embrace, a star does shine,
Yousef al-Mutairi, talent refined,
On the court, he soars, with grace untold,
Representing his land, a story unfolds.

With dedication fierce, he strides the lane,
A basketball maestro, glory to attain,
A father strong, with love displayed,
Guiding his children, his heart portrayed.

In life's arena, he's done it his way,
The right path chosen, come what may,
With honor and virtue, he leads the play,
Yousef, a legend, in every way.

Come on baby .we have taken it slow
My hearts ready to go
The odds were beat
We took the heat
Its with you i wish to be
Have a little trust in me
And one day you will find
Babe id never leave you behind
Don`t let things of the past
Keep you from a love meant to last
fear it is also in in my heart
but i knew it was you from the start
cant promise it will always be grand
but i want you to understand
my best ill always try
never to make you cry
ill be your love ill be your friend
ill be beside you till the end

Imagine if I possessed stunning good looks
Along with an adorable personality
I'd have to beat the ladies off with a stick
Sure love it if this was reality

Hollywood would continually be bugging me
To make millions from my glorious kisser
Certainly be renowned the whole world over
But dear Cathie, I'd surely miss her

I'd send for her as soon as I bought a mansion
Overlooking the beautiful sea
Would say farewell to my bevy of beauties
So honoured to have had a piece of me

This cyber world allows for such musing
I could actually be of the opposite sex
Now I've really got you wondering haven't I
So you never know what to expect

I confess have had ten tears experience
With a brain the size of a basketball
Eat gigabytes of data, morning, noon and night
And spit out gobs of wisdom to all

Imagine if I possessed stunning good looks
Dream on you old geezer, dream on
A major overhaul would certainly be necessary
And I don't think you've got that long

Flowery At Down Withered At Dusk

FLOWERY AT DAWN, WITHERED AT DUSK.

Summer today Fall before tomorrow
A youth today aged and frail tomorrow
If you live to age, maybe on a life borrowed
Happy at dawn, at Dusk we sleep in sorrow
Birthed in team only to exit in solo
My birth gave them joy
My demise tomorrow will leave them in sorrow

Many hidden pains
They don't know why I look pale
Eyes popping out of its socket
Not only for the money scarce in my pocket
I'm a wandering soul in the forest
Buying a little more time in my closet
After now I'll kick the bucket

I don't live the life that I love
Nor love the life that I live
Heard there's love in the air
And I wonder why I can't sniff any but hate
If I wake up to see tomorrow
Wait not further hour to say hello
The last smile I made
The last time I waved
And the last bye I said
May be the last of me to you
A memory you'll live with after I'm gone.

Goodnight to our beloved departed soul
The flowers ?? we had at sunrise but withered at sunset
You left, but live forever in our hearts
Goodnight foever

Years before 13th birthday
Sun beckons me run play
In the street under golden ray
With neighborhood kids on hills of clay

Learning to ride bike and skate
Playing kickball run chase
Playing football basketball too
Dodge ball softball all in June

In Clanton Park we all are one
Hiking green woods under red sun
What to do on rainy days
Play with dolls do hair makeup face

Drawing dresses or playing cards spa
Not so much t.v. but it had a part
We had just begun our training bras
Tomboys galore we are stars

Mcclendon's Break

Streaking, dashing, breaking away
Up, up the tempo, the McClendon way

Getting wide and filling the lanes
Assisting the open man with two points to gain

Upbeat, back and forth, fast, and then faster
Sitting and watching, a spectator's delight, as they witness a creation by the 'Flow Master'

Yes! Breaking away the McClendon way
Away from stereotypes and public naiveté

Dark skin was a 'NO' for many, like the likes of Duke, Georgetown, Temple, and St. Johns
But Morehouse, Fisk, Howard, and other HBCUs were an emphatic 'YES' for 'McClendons.'

The likes of Bob Love, Cleo Hill, Oscar Butler, The Pearl, Sam Jones, John Chaney, Harold Hunter and so many more
O' McClendon's Break, history indeed; now 'Black Magic' at HBCUs is the heretofore

McClendon's Break extended far beyond 94 feet
His astounding 4 W's made playing that much more sweet

The Who, What, Why, and Where
McClendon's Break, oh so rare

MYSTCAL MOONLIGHT

Intoxicating, breathtaking.
Silvery foreshadows of innocence
The birthplace of my poetry.
It's starlight, of tides and times.
Moonlight and God are spinning
The perfect poetic chrysalis,
Of dreams and peace.
As His existence always is.
Above the clouds He does not sleep.
But love and miracles does He keep.
Alas, to many, He is but a joke.
Lonely,ill and confused, they grumble,
Deaf to His help and eternal
whisperings,
The Creator of this universe and
our eternal King,

Premium MemberMy Pet Poems, Barkley

Barkley

He was barely nine weeks old
When Jim set him down inside the front door
And he came in, not timidly
To this new home with all its long-established
Smells, but he strut forward
As if he owned the place. And, so,
When it came to choosing his name, we
Decided to call this cocker-with-an-attitude
Barkley after Charles Barkley
Who ran onto courts as if he owned them,
Which he did.
So like this champion-bred spaniel
Who henceforth owned me. This
Longest-earred, rare tri-colored prince,
Who would lick my fingers one by one,
From thumb to pinky and lay guard over me
— With his ashes now set waiting
To be blown in the wind with mine — always
Kept me still as I stroked him, as some others might
Turn worry-stones in a pocket, to keep me steady
In challenged hours, as our telepathy
Spoke without a second’s delay, as if
God had planned the timing of
Our together,
So Barkley would strut on ahead to show me
I had nothing to fear.

Premium MemberA Tribute To Kobe

For His forty-one years, he
thrilled us with his moves on the court.
For such a Life as this, no one wants to say goodbye.
This Champion is sadly gone. His child an aspiring
Second in his footsteps.
You wonder why a Life cut so short?
This is my tribute to a man know as Kobe.

I never saw you play, but I heard of your many triumphs.
Now you will play for my husband and sister to the place
you and your child are now going. You will always have
a place in our hearts and love in our minds.

It is not always fair when a life is cut short, But I am guessing
it is only natural in the grand skim of things when one
leaves us early they have met their destiny.

We have all your Championship tributes and videos that
will remind us of you. And like many in your category,
we will remember you.

Welcome to your Eternal Hall of Fame.
And my sincere condolences for your wife,
parents and three daughters.

So, Rest Well,
Be Well in Christ Jesus.

Premium MemberToday Tomorrow Gone

How will you spend tomorrow?
How did you spend today?
Why do hero's come and go?
How are legends made?

Ask yourself these questions
Ponder the answers through
Take a good hard look at your life
Now imagine what you can do

Each day is such a gift
For granted please don't take
Always face each day anew
Light each candle and taste the cake

Surround yourself with love and joy
More memories be sure to make
Today could be tomorrow gone
Another heart could break

Life Themes

Two bulbs in the living room are broken
The light is lying down on the sofa
Fatigue and weak
The tag in the toilet leaks
day and night it drops
There is no sound from the TV speaker
Just let it be silent

If someone ask you out for a date
You dare not to say yes
Eat, Drink, and walk alone
Waiting for someone on WeChat to respond
Desperate love in throat it congested
and cannot be taken out

A woman without a lover
Clasp a few poetic lines to sleep
to warm heart
by the moonlight outside the window

Ode To Basketball

Defending, passing, and shooting the ball,
The girls on my team are really tall.
I try to give my very best,
And it always seems to really impress.

The sound of squeaky shoes draws near.
We make a shot and fans start to cheer.
I dribble the ball in my hand.
My team runs the play just as planned.

The game is tied with seconds to go,
But we won by making the last free throw.
My love of the game is very strong.
The basketball court is where I belong.
