The Fullness of Time

Like succulent peaches ripen on the tree
So is my heart aching for thee
Like mouthwatering grapes hanging from the vine
I can now confirm that you are mine
The story of the lonely soldier walking on the road
With his boots around his neck and a pistol hidden in his chest
Knew that the war was over but he had to cross over
And so he kept marching on singing his freedom song
Like fountain of the morning with shadows bending its wing
In the garden of hope sweet melody sings
And morning burst into flame
And the people rise to their feet again.

The fullness of time is divine

Keeping Score

The bartender strolls from one
end of the counter to the other.
She makes small talk with regulars
who watch NFL games on screens
and a college basketball game
plays on another.
For each touchdown scored
mugs are raised.
Fans analyze every run and play
and the day unfolds.
while the bartender pours beers.
She says her boyfriend and dog
are at home.
A man at the end of the bar
pays his tab.
A woman from public housing
pushes her walker and sits
in their midst.
She’s come in to watch Cubs games
and she’s here again
although baseball season is over.

Dribble Dribble Shoot,

no one passes me the ball,

Equines

Two horses and a foal graze on my land
twilight, gentle rain

I  think of the days when ploughing
the field, a sturdy horse

a long furrow on rich black soil
what more is there to know

stroking a flank, the warm aroma of
a horse arises in still air

dreams are endless, in daylight
three boulders in a field

Fingers on our booger

With one hand on my thigh
I realize it's time
To pick
My booger
At night all alone
I pick.
My boogers.
And when one hangs low.
I stop
And think
About my life...
2 people see two things wrong with too.
Being involved.
We stop
And scratch our heads.
And when we are deep
In thought
We realize
That
Our fingers
Are on
Our boogers.

  Yesterday, down twenty-two to one
The Chicago Bulls, that game won

    Miracles occur daily
The impossible may take a wee bit
                       longer

    Yesterday evening, the Chicago Bulls
trailed the Miami Heat, an excellent
    team, by a score of 22 - 1, seven
minutes into the game... The final

Bland Sunday

A bland Sunday
Today, on an otherwise boring Sunday, I drove to the place on earth where I was truly happy
It is a place along the coat that has mild rainfall in winters in summers a mild breeze keeps the place cool
My job when I lived in Paradise was to make wooden clogs, with leather uppers, but I made the clog itself
by insisting they come in so I can measure their face
In the beginning, there were people who thought I might have a foot fetish but when my clogs appeared measured exactly to the feet of the wearer, I could do no harm
When my work as a cobbler was done, I had much time on my hands, I used to walk into the village named
Flick talking to the friendly dwellers who were matey
but didn't care what happened in the outside world
I thought I had been walking along the road for 4567
time I have the right to ask what the hell, am I doing here?
The leader of this paradise set me free so I could be annoying to more people before my job as a cobbler
Where of use again

Put Me In Coach

I've practiced this moment 10,000 times
It won't go away instead, it magnifies in my mind

Late nights and early mornings... I know them
Working, honing, tweaking, and reworking... I embrace them

Put me in the game, coach

Silly, frivolous activities I have absconded and do abscond
Studying, listening, observing, and preparing are my fun

Battle scars, cuts, bruises, and bumps from practice...
I have them
Dedication, devotion, focus, and Yeoman's work...
I honor them

Put me in the game, coach

This golden moment I've longed to see
A thought, a wish, a goal, a dream is now a reality
Far, far away from before
Now, right now there is a new lore

Put me in coach

I'm ready

Three Point Shot

Three Point Shot

You reach the line, an almost perfect semicircle,
Racing from one side of the court to the other, avoiding the hoop
In a soft wide arc,

Your shoes biting into the floor,
As you come to a halt,
Announcing it to the world with a short, piercing squeak
Tearing through the atmosphere, to the stands

With the ball nestled in your hands, just yearning to take flight,
You rise, knowing that your defenders can’t reach you
Everything but the ball and hoop a distant memory

Your hands travel through the same motions you know so well,
Knowing, even before the ball leaves your grasp, you’ve already won,
This time

You finally release the ball, with a quick, decisive snap of the wrist
Sending it arcing through the air with pinpoint accuracy,
Racing towards the net

Swish

Crisp and clean as a clear spring morning

The ball drops through the net, as the net snaps upwards
You breathe a sigh of relief and relax,
As play continues on

Flowery At Down Withered At Dusk

FLOWERY AT DAWN, WITHERED AT DUSK.

Summer today Fall before tomorrow
A youth today aged and frail tomorrow
If you live to age, maybe on a life borrowed
Happy at dawn, at Dusk we sleep in sorrow
Birthed in team only to exit in solo
My birth gave them joy
My demise tomorrow will leave them in sorrow

Many hidden pains
They don't know why I look pale
Eyes popping out of its socket
Not only for the money scarce in my pocket
I'm a wandering soul in the forest
Buying a little more time in my closet
After now I'll kick the bucket

I don't live the life that I love
Nor love the life that I live
Heard there's love in the air
And I wonder why I can't sniff any but hate
If I wake up to see tomorrow
Wait not further hour to say hello
The last smile I made
The last time I waved
And the last bye I said
May be the last of me to you
A memory you'll live with after I'm gone.

Goodnight to our beloved departed soul
The flowers ?? we had at sunrise but withered at sunset
You left, but live forever in our hearts
Goodnight foever

A drug smuggling dribbler is in a pickle
Commie Lebron is acting quite fickle
she should rot in a gulag
with this self-oppressed snob
until they choke on the hammer and sickle

Although We All Run After Her

it is the smallest thing on earth

smaller than an ant or a louse,
smaller than a fungus,
so small that when it passes by you can't see it,
you can't feel it, because it's the tiniest thing on earth hiding sometimes in a tear, othertimes in an outstretched hand,
sigh,
cry,

we want her for us, but she's always by our side,
with the mastery of the philosopher, it leads us by the nose to where considers,
lures us like a gravedigger disguised in a goddess,
it does not fall on your lap, not even in your mouth like a riped pear,
because it is the most ordinary thing on earth hidden in your warmth,

we all run after her like after a bridal veil blown by the wind
