Premium Member Love's Sweet Aroma Drifts -

Love's sweet aroma drifts -
Draws me to surrender.
My joy is your laughter;
Your presence, my repose.

Let love and fire marry
And living be the prize.
I resign my empty nights;
Where you lead, I follow.

Like a candle and flame -
Be with me as one -
Wax melding into tongue
Inextricably so.

Hot Peppermint Tea

Hot peppermint tea
tumbles into my thin cup.
Scent focuses work.

Sonnet Upon It

We love these fields where golden sunbeams lie.
They're like a canvas, part of nature's art.
The whispering winds within those leaves do sigh.
Down here I feel the music in my heart.

And in that hall such music then unfolds
that symphony, its every pitch and tone;
concerto now with stuff my gay heart holds
as treasure - and I'm glad I'm not alone.

We're keen and jolly, sparkling, wild and gay.
You fill my heart with happiness, it swells
my very soul with gladness, yet I say
I'm getting something curious, and it smells.

I do so love you, know you love me too,
but oh I know you need a great big poo.

Premium Member A Cherished Birthday

Thank you, LORD, for this new day
I say to you, now as I pray
In your Word it does say
Meditate on it all the day

I meditate now as I relay
To those reading this today
Hoping they will ponder and weigh
That Jesus is King, the only way

My soul bids me here to stay
Writing words to portray
The wisdom and knowledge of His way
Never, no, never, should we betray

His voice sometimes I hear Him say
“Yes, I rejoice over you today
Singing gladly as you obey
My will delivered in glorious array

My children I come without delay
I bring my love, a colorful display
Smell the aroma from the delightful bouquet
And cherish it as it wisps away

My creation sings like the bluejay
That wistfully perches below the archway
It dares not wander nor go astray
As it sings to me, on my Birthday

Happy Birthday Jesus, I fly away

Premium Member aroma might be a fright

it’s ideal to have oversight
when you invite a friend to stay the night
for the loud gas expelled might not be light
aroma might give you quite a fright
most are not careful about what they bite
so give them a break to remain all right

Premium Member Just a thought away

Memories of grandma’s old kitchen
Always so warm and inviting
Smells of love wafting through the air
A strawberry rhubarb pie in the oven
Smiles and hugs always on the menu

Was it tuna?

The world in black and blue,
no visible outline, the colors
blur. Headlights bright red,
and the people covered
in smoke as I stand in the back-
alley surrounded by old graffiti
stains and a half eaten tuna fish
sandwich. The alley cats
devour the carcass leaving
the bones and eyes behind.
I look at the eyes and I see
my mother pan frying
batches of leftover
salmon, a once in awhile
treat, then back to smelly
tuna daily. I give my mom
credit, her cooking skills
mask the awful aroma just
enough for me to eat with
ease. I still wonder what
mystery meat I ate back
in high school, looked like
tuna, smelled like beef but
tasted like chicken. I get up
and leave to a corner
bodega shop where they sell
beer and passable pepperoni
pizza for a late night snack.
Then I chill at the coin laundry
shop next door, I should’ve
brought earphones with me.
