would share his wealth just like that
not spoiled at all, not a brat
a humble listener, King Cole Gnat
He exudes excess flexibility
Soothing forlorn subjects at his knee
Understanding his responsibility
a fantastic member of the aristocracy
I want to write a poem sweet little kitty cat,
but you are on my cluttered writing desk:
and on my papers you have just sat !
With you in a dance position arabesque,
we chitchat, chat, and play tat for tat !
Please, will you now move my furry aristocrat ?

Dreamt of becoming a bureaucrat
He loved riddles and red tape
Leaving folks with mouth agape
Cherishing all games of mouse and cat

In nineteen thirty-five my star was born
Twas a time to save the world from hatred and scorn
Hey hang on to your hat
This famous aristocrat
Has important stuff to send your way this morn
I’m a traveler
landfill photographer
amateur aristocrat
hours on in the bookstore
chai latte with just a pinch
of cinnamon and vanilla
a crescent full of comfy chairs
and extra texts on eastern thought
ready, set,
reading’s fun again
I smoke enough
to hold my bluff
but not enough to harm me
I’m a souvenir
lightweight contender
amateur aristocrat
another sunny Saturday
finds me lying poolside
taking in the rays, so
taken of it all
could you bring an iced tea?
don’t you know a gentleman
when you see one?
I work enough
when times are tough
but never enough to tire me
I’m a remnant
adamantly spoken for
amateur aristocrat
