We all trap ourselves in our own misery.
Afraid that if anyone knows, we'll crack.
Locking the door to freedom as we're stuck in the past.
Slowly bleeding out, while not letting anything go.
We try to forget, but always end up looking back.
The memories taking us down fast.
And the relief coming slow.
If at all, it's like we'll never know.
Trapped in our own minds.
Awake every night.
Scared of what others may find.
Waiting for the light.
Watching each tear fall to the ground.
Crying, trying to not make a sound.
Because if we do, they'll know.
And if they know, they might leave.
Making just another person to grieve.
But, if you relate to this, then you're not alone.
There's many out there that can relate to this poem.
You may feel like it's never going to end,
But, I believe, this is something you can mend.
The need to write never ends.
Just destroys the dragonfly as it flies away.
Just eats things that are made of crust.
Just tampers with the string that holds your eyeballs in.
The need to write is wonderful.
A nice feeling of swishing.
Like a pond with nothing but algae and weird bubbles.
Making deep popping sounds.
The need to write is soaking through.
Not unlike a fountain’s spray.
On top of a bench that can’t do anything, go anywhere.
There is nothing better than…
The need to write.
The grimacing faces of words.
Which are tactile sometimes.
Tapping against me.
I don’t need to write.
At 4:00 am.
I can ponder and consider wandering into a swamp.
And not write the whole time.
Or I could write a few words.
Which makes me as strong as roadkill.
Gets run over with sentences again.
For fun.
The need to write never ends.
Does it?
A night with friends to enjoy a culinary sampling tour downtown
Time for a boatload of fun, and let our hair down
Our journey begins with our tour guide loading us into his van
A jolly fellow who is letting us know all the stops in our four-hour span
Samples from many countries we will get to taste
My guess is we will not let anything go to waste
First stop Italian for some authentic pizza and fine wine
Then it is British with its fish and chips and a pint of beer, mighty fine
Japanese is our next stop with its sushi and saki to wash it down
Finally France for some French onion soup and pastries, and some of the best wine to be found
Such a culinary delight, as well as a wonderful evening spent with friends
Until we met the Covid 19
We have never ask ourselves
Did anything go wrong
Until we encountered
The most frightening epidermic
We never know
The longest fight
The hardest to control
Until deaths swept across madly
We never know
There are so much uncertainities
But one thing is sure that
We have to fight worldwide
We have to share among us
We have to cooperate eternally
We have to help each other
In the name To Survive
It irks me to no end
Bothers me like an itch you can’t scratch,
seeing losers win
And it just happened again
Uncouth bad manners chortling,
with a dummy balloon grin
Loser ...
always will be,
always was back when
What did the loser win?
The lottery, apparently
Rigged the system
with improper tampering
Loser and a cheat
That just doubled my disgust,
doubled my beef
Losers don’t get lucky like that,
had to be an inside job
Should anything go wrong,
those invisible hands you won’t see
The only public face will be
the Loser,
packaged to be the pasty
It’s bad for the merit business,
seeing losers win
And it just happened again
Uncouth bad manners chortling,
with an idiotic joker grin
Another loser ...
now they’re both slapping hands,
like they’ve always been best friends
Looks like losers winning
has turned into a trend
Much to my chagrin
Let's presume all is well
Though we know truly in our minds
That we are still crawling
Like a snail under its shielded carapace.
Let's presume it is well
Though we know we are not yet there
Midst nepotism and bureaucracy politics
In that which our nation is canonized
Furtherance into our country web of hierarchy
Will renounce your reliable imaginations,
Your emotional inappropriate findings,
And your shortsighted quest around time and space.
Believe it or not
Their says must be well felt
Since they are the holder
Of anything go transient tools.
In doubt or not in doubt
Mysteries will sooner than later
Unveil themselves in due time
This is not far from our reach.
If I could have three wishes I wonder what they'd be,
If I could wish for anything and it be given to me.
I could be an astronaut, flying into space,
Or be a driver in a NASCAR race.
I could be a super hero, flying to save the day.
(Or I could have a jet pack and fly around anyway.)
I could wish for power, I could wish for fame,
Or a cool car or my own private plane.
I could be the strongest man alive, the smartest too.
Oh the things I could wish for, so many to choose!
I could lead the country as the U.S. president,
But have people follow me everywhere I went.
I could be a lion, eagle, shark or a bear.
I could be anything, go anywhere.
I could be a kid again, where all my life's a game.
I could climb Mt. Everest or walk the Moon's plains.
I could have all these things, and a lot more too.
If I just said the words "I wish" then they could come true!
So many wishes to make, I can't take it anymore!
I know my first wish: I wish I knew what to wish for!
There's a lady in my house,
who looks just like me,
talks just like me,
moves just like me.
We swear we're not related;
you want to prove anything, go get a blood test.
She didn't give birth to me, fifteen years ago,
I don't belong to her;
I need to stop following her.
She acts as if this name I've given her is somehow alien and foreign to her.
So sometimes she simply goes by "lady".
We often disagree,
but since she thinks like me, (sometimes)
and I might know why.
She swears I showed up on her doorstep,
in a basket,
and never left.
Especially when I mess up,
act goofy
or make dumb mistakes,
she swears I'm not her child.
But any guest, visitor or passerby who sees us,
knows right away,
undoubtedly,
that this lady,
who lives in my house,
looks just like me,
moves just like me,
and talks just like me,
is none other
than my mother.
