Amasses Poems | Examples

A Short Rain

A practice kiss with her hand
Misses body, heart

The droplets like her fall —
She amasses their death

Even inside, outside
Let rain go no further.

hollows

In the hollows of the night
I lie and face the stars, the things behind the veil
In dreams, I turn from things afar; I feel my soul quake
In the hallows of my night, there in a bar
The shadows man watches, the night pools
In hallows of my heart, I lie and face the stars
The universes mass, something’s floating
Event horizon fading, I’m lying in the automated
Autumn’s breeze, things beyond
A nightmares gallop, skeletal things ride upon
In the hollows of the night, there is a bar
Shadows walk in the neon rain
In the shallows of my soul
I feel my soul break
Creation amasses along horizons, seems
In the autumn breeze
Automatic and serene!

Premium MemberThe Man Who Learns Mauve from Chartreuse

The man who learns mauve from chartreuse
Is rendered quite gay by the news.
For courting sweet lasses
A man means amasses
That too many colors confuse.

                                      Sky merging with earth
                                     An illusion called horizon
                                   Life merging with pleasures
                                    An illusion called success

Square meals and a cozy sleep
                                Minus craving for endless keep
                                Loss and gain howsoever deep
Contentment is a joy with sweep

                                  When one amasses the heap
Lure for more and more beep
                                Fears, alarms and qualms creep
                                 Worries, not the serenity steep

Life is lovely and precious, not cheap
Delight and fulfillment one may reap
With tranquility and calm, not the leap
Life’s blue waters are not ankle-deep

Premium MemberDust

I followed the dust particle floating across my room;
more interesting than the flickering TV it passed,
rising rapidly from the heat the screen generated,
swirling for a heartbeat, captured in some unseen vortex.

Then, moving on, collecting a few friends from unread books,
pets, lovers long departed, embarking on a journey.
A tiny crowd amasses, circling, following the grooves,
twisting, dancing to the laid-back beat of Herbie Hancock.

A Pause, before leisurely following the golden wings
of a Meadow Brown making escape toward a window,
passing a shaft of sunlight igniting a trillion specks
of shimmering dust, a microscopic murmuration;

dust, which was something once.

Open Word Classes

Open Word Classes

In language there are classes, we are told,
Of words both new and old.
Nouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs too,
And among them, open word classes few.

Nouns, the names of things and beings,
Verbs, actions that give them meanings.
Adjectives, describing how things are,
Adverbs, telling when and where they occur.

But in the open classes, there is more,
Words that keep growing, like an open door.
Interjections, expressing emotion pure,
Conjunctions, connecting clauses sure.

Prepositions, showing position and relation,
And articles, signaling a specific sensation.
These open classes, ever-changing and free,
Reflect the dynamism of language, you see.

For new words can be added with ease,
As culture and technology shift and tease.
And though rules and structure remain,
Open classes expand, our language domain.

So let us celebrate the open word classes,
For they reflect how language amasses.
A rich and diverse range of expression,
For us to use in endless succession.

To Establish Justice, Will God Nod

Is peace of mind for all the souls possible?
Can the happiness of the World we double?
These questions are totally unanswerable
As the loving part of human heart is feeble

Man is supreme among all the living races
By hook or crook, victory he easily traces
With vengeance, every soul, he chases
He loves to stash money in suit-cases

Money makes him become mother's enemy
To kill one another, he has created an Army
He is making the scope for peace gloomy
He loves to wear gold like Egyptian mummy

He allows hatred to dominate in his mind
Though through money, peace he can't find
He amasses it by being mentally blind
For the sake of money, he turns unkind

How to rectify the greed of man, dear God?
Is there a method to do it on the holy sod?
Can we make him good by not being a fraud?
If you can do it, please bless us all my Lord.

Conformity

The herd amasses together
The numbers provide the semblance of societal norms
It's a collective value system called conformity
Like bees to a bee hive - they swarm

Non-compliance is unacceptable
The fear of alienation is what drives the herd
The outsiders are entitled to their opinion
Yet crucified for their words

They are self-professed social warriors
With superior morals, values, and beliefs
They project - true virtue
Living a life of victimization filled with childish griefs

Self-righteousness becomes their identity
No one is excluded from their attack
Like a snake that eats its own tale
We all lose something we can never get back

Conformity - presented as collective value
Exhausted - we accept uncritically
The line between fact and fiction
Becomes a complete absurdity

“Herd morality is a powerful beast, with the force of the majority behind it.” - Friedrich Nietzsche

Alliance

When God forged Man,

He made an angle for every clan.

He didn't vacate him solitary,

But created his soul and core benefactor.

This is nature's irony,

Two souls tied concurrently in destiny.

Then why is it so arduous for every essence?

To live in conformity without any hue and impasse.

When Our divine amasses to be together,

Then why humans fail to discern his perception.

There is great strength in unity,

When will all deceivers yearn and perceive?

A message to all you couples bonded by society,

Hurl off the ego, vanish the animosity,

The cart of marriage will move only by parity and unity.

It's heartbreaking to see so many divorces in this so-called modern world. A poem to all pairs made from heaven consummated on earth.

Premium MemberBack Ache

Another slow snail day of healing
Carefully I walk and breathe
Hoping soon I'll feel better as the
Electric pillow warms my aching back

Bulbous pain that I cannot restrain
Amasses and attacks my lower back
Cringing I sit as straight and can be
Kenneled with discomfort and ache

The Tempest

another tower, rising up the skies,
a high terrasse, a night, a starry weather,
a caviar, a bird of paradise
for every towerer, a golden feather
on tux’s sleeve…
                         all of a sudden strike
of lightning in the pyramid of glasses,
shards! thunder! screams! crush in the dark! a spike
of panic, a lead cloud that amasses
new rage at arms’ length, furious wind gusts,
first drops of rain as bitter as the tears
that flush away ambitions, dares, lusts,
and hopes of the new babylon that nears
its end…
             a soggy bird of paradise,
another tower, rising up the skies.

You Can Not Silence Me

This poem was written to include three or more words of the seven out of favor words from use at the CDC as a part of a flood of art and language and truth, in hard copy and solidarity.

In our world where the vulnerable suffer
and entitlement amasses to a proud few,
evidence and science-based approaches are insufficient
when alternative reality is deemed true.
We know that the key to change is our diversity
despite the perversity of the persistent right crew.
Our collective consciousness voiced
is our only choice
to unravel and recreate new
policy by the people and for the people
who look like me and you.

Urge

Urge...!

There lay behind every act, 'an urge'-
from the 'conscious' or the 'unconscious';
former an urge that churns life,
the latter - amasses and continues!

Profound thirst for life - to live,
seeks to quench from one's own!
Visible end apparent - is to blossom,
and flourish - in furtherance sworn!

That beyond mind, body, intellect -
the quintessential of quintessence!
The very root for creations galore,
and the very essence of essence.

'Thinking' thought some thoughts,
brought forth the imbibed trait;
inertia, energy and one with law,
a mix of which, man set-off his gait!

Note, one's up is another's down,
right on the surface of this rock;
and one's right is another's left
realising which even you will mock!

Pivot on urge within and ponder,
what prompted it - ought to wonder!
Are names and forms from the mind,
or 'that' something beyond yonder?

Spare a thought for 'urge' to urge,
and the one that prompts the surge;
stay with that in all your thought,
and find thy Self when it merge!

Introspection within is all it takes,
to reach out for questions it rakes!
Extricate from the motley maze,
and reach beyond time and space.

The Great Confusion

Since time immemorial, strangely the humanity
Has muddled the issue, that is alive even today
Superimposing material affluence on lasting joy
And run after things which but offer fleeting joy.

Wealth has become a sine qua non for happiness
Hence everyone is busy building-up possessions
The more one assembles material conveniences
Which are but great hindrances to enduring bliss.

It is the estimation of happiness in others’ eyes
That drives man to hurry accumulating luxuries
And even when he amasses affluence substantial
One finds him miserable, which is inexplicable.

Thus humans ensnared by chimeras of capital
Certainly do not value abiding joy wonderful
This great confusion is a product of ignorance
That jams judgment between the fake and real.
