Premium MemberPhorgiving a Pharisee

Like Simon and me
Phorgiving a Pharisee
Is done Jesus-ly
Like Isaiah, we
Say here I am Lord send me
With Gospel decree
Phorgiving someone
Is the loving thing to do
Convocation-ly
It is the PSabbath
We will pray and sing psalm psongs
Rightly and greatly
Lord we praise You now
Holy, holy, holy is
Lord God Almighty
Phorgive us our
Pharisaical, sinful
Heart attitudes towards You
Help us to be more
Like Jesus, Who gave His life
Fulfilling God’s law
Even so come quick
-ly, we pray as the psalmist
Awake, Arise Lord
So phorgive us Lord
Repent unrepentant we
Graciously Jesus

I knew, and you knew, that if I listened to "Unchained Melody,"
I would have given up yesterday. Without the praises and disappointments, those long, deep sighs experienced during moments of passion, our love felt superficial in comparison. Everything changed when I saw his face in my dreams. Suddenly, the sweet melodies of Gheorghe Zamfir's "Unchained Melody" called me back, and I became the Greek goddess you never heard of. I am free.

My last sigh and our final embrace have turned to dust bunnies, leaving only one reminder: your brown jar of honey, untouched, sticky, and outdated, much like your attempts to seduce me. Those negligees you once loved faded in color, just like yesterday's tears. Everything we once shared in this world now feels so unreal.

I am free, free to love with each breath and each melody, despite the intimidation. We were everything, and I welcomed those nights. However, I am now the brave heart of my soul. My fear has subsided, and my smiles are long overdue. A new secret reveals itself. Close all doors.

Premium MemberUnknown Poet

I'm a poet
And I don't know it
My rhyme destroys
My pen is poised

To trickle out
Some tale about
A butterfly
Or sunset sky

As sweet as jam
With rhythm slam
Dunk in your tea
My soliloquy

I'm a poet
Happy to show it
So on your bike
As I drop the mic

You may have guessed
If you passed the test
As you peruse
This lyrical muse

That no comp will claim
This shot at fame
My Shakespearean blooper
Hardly 'poetry super'

When the quill is dry
Or my muse is shy
Or the peripatetic
Pen pleads "pathetic"

I turn in shame
When love's words are lame
Yet in hopeful reason
This may be the season

Of drought, no doubt
It may be a good shout
Though my lack I berate
Truth is; seasons rotate

To conclude, I am hopeful
I can re-shape the doleful
Convert all this stressin'
I'm a poet.

I am

I am an appendage.
I am a tool.
I am his accompaniment.
I am an addition.
I am an attachment.
I am the accretion formed from abuse.
I am nothing without him to tell me what I am worth.
I am only something when he loves me.
I am only worth anything when I am convenient.
I am supposed to be enjoyable.
I am supposed to be to his benefit.
I am supposed to be easy.
I am supposed to satisfy.
I am supposed to be useful.
I am told to be practical.
I am told to be appropriate.
I am told to be available.
I am told to stay mute.
I am told to be passive.
I am told to submit.
I am a person.
I am feeling.
I am alive.
I am not his appendage.
I don't have to be a wife before I am myself.
Before I am happy.
I am tired of how I am treated.
I am ready to be a combatant.
I am ready to accept the bruises if it is for the last time.
I am ready to feel like me again.
I want to be me again.

as delicate days decorate the sky for me,
and memories become a mixture of,
                                     pastel photography

                      i am here

just a girl

Shes just a girl!
She holds her childhood close, says the stuffed bear waiting for her on her pillow
She wants to be a good student, says her desk piled with completed assignments
She loves bright colors, says the clothes in her closet
She loves rewarding herself with a sweet treat, says the sonic cups littering her room
She doesn't have much time for herself, says the piles of laundry on every surface
She covers herself up, says the makeup spilling out of the bag on her vanity
She hates her body, says the tape measure resting by her mirror
Shes struggling with living, says the mascara on her pillow case
But no one knows, says the smiles in the pictures on her walls
She is me, and I am her
but I am ok, I'm just a girl

An ordinary life I live,
No high title, wealth nor fame.
Few will know my name;
I write for the joy it gives.

No great office have I kept.
No life my actions saved.
No critics of me raved,
Of accolades, bereft.

But there are some I touch.
Some hearts and lives I move.
Some suffering I sooth
And I minister to such.

Some I move to tears.
Some will share my passion;
Claim this poet’s fashion-
And offer subtle cheers.

I am simple and I show it,
A novice of this art
But if I can move a heart
I’ll be none other than a poet.
