As poet, I aspire to Mount Parnassus's seat;
and labor all the day, so my odes flow with beat:
as poet, I have miles to go before I sleep,
before I plumb the depths; and probe Pieria's deep!
My mother and father,
taught me about power,
words and inspiration,
courage, strength and passion,
wish it could be bottled,
because all are entitled,
dad gave me the forest,
mom- her garden terraced.

Wasema subira yavuta kheri,
Kamba iliyovuta kheri yakatika,
Yakatika na Uzito wa huba, uliojawa na mahaba,
Na safari ya mapenzi, iliyojaza sheheni,
Kwake nimetia Nanga, sihitaji kivuko,
Nasema hivi, Nitaolewa kesho.
Haba na haba hujaza kibaba,
Kibaba kilichosheheni mapenzi ya Dhati,
Moyo ukafurika, kwa pepo za mapenzi yake,
Sihitaji feni zenyu, kwake upepo napata,
Nasema hivi, Nitaolewa kesho.
Safari ndefu ya mapenzi, iliyojawa machafuko,
Chombo alishikilia usukani, captain wa mapenzi,
Zake huba haziyumbishwi, kwa nyangumi au papa,
Nasema hivi, Nitaolewa kesho.
Hayawi hayawini sasa, yamekuwa na kunenepa,
Yanini kukondeana, wakati twashibana,
Sifurukuti hafurukuti, mapenzi Ndiyo nguzo yetu,
Nasema hivi, Nitaolewa kesho.
Yalianza kama chemichemi, sasa yafurika kama bahari,
Ilikuwa ni bahati, kufurika kwake hivi,
MUNGU AKITUJALIA, Hii ya kesho tatimia,
NASEMA HIVI, NITAOLEWA KESHO
When your heart is pounding, and your muscles cry out no more. When your bones say it's over you're tired to the core.Press On Young Young Sweat press On.When pain and sorrow grips your soul and tears just wont go away,Square your shoulders Straighten your spine and say Press On Mummy Press On.When the earth is shaking and the storm keeps pounding It feel like you're sinking Hear the Spirit say Press On Soldier Press On You've Got To Make It Home.
What if there were purples, and blues, and greens?
What if your daughter loved a pink, though she a tangerine?
What colors are more capable of awe and inspiration?
What greatness does life hold without exaggeration?
What courage can be shown without mixing up some colors?
What knowledge can we bestow without first understanding others?
I'm not an expert at anything, but an optimist at many.
A carpenter I am not, but I can still bang a nail.
My artist's hands are not skilled
but my paint still flows to the palette and my brush still strokes a canvas.
Parenthood will forever confuse and astound me,
but I never give up and never give in.
My typing skills are lacking but I continue to write,
a pencil and paper will do me just fine.
I may not be famous or gorgeous or genius
but I have my wits and they’ll do me just fine.
