Igneous rocks moltened, crystallized, solidified
rising towards the surface like a hot furnace
Volcanic activity of the soul, conundrum of the heart
rule out the mind and the body facilitates, erupts !
One transformative honest experience and we
arrive at a gestalt moment of truth, we are
both energies, ... "explosive and implosive"
filled with adroitness and clumsiness alike
Profound changes in ones individual essence
can be an awakening of great disturbance
Within the ring of fire, boundaries co-exist
illumination is feasible if it is undeniable !
Magnetic moments in the soul reinforced
through our dreams, hopes, and fears....
Owning both destructive and creative powers
our souls do make choices each and every day
Both volcanoes and souls contain openings
and when the day of reckoning is near
we either choose to lay dormant or explode
it all depends upon our soul's barcode...

PLAYING THE GAME Of POKER
At the table,
the dealer begins the game,
passing out set number of cards,
players ready to exhibit mental acuity.
A full house of masterminds,
getting familiar with the cards,
playing different variations of the game.
everyone with a target.
We fold, check, call or raise,
strategizing on how to topple the other,
straight, stud, draw or community,
mostly, same rule applies.
The game of poker,
quite similar to life.
simple,yet complex!
requires a lot of maths and psychology.
It's a bet, full of trials and errors.
Some rely on their tenacity and courage,
their adroitness and tactics,
for maximum result.
Some compromise it all,
yet, no aroma of fresh fruits.
some run out of chips, even before they get a chance to play.
We all are players,
playing the mean game of poker,
round the clock,
with dexterous manoeuvre.
The difference is,
some have mastered the soft skills,
and have become connoisseurs of the game.
while some are still baking in the oven.
In this game of life,
sometimes we win,
sometimes we lose.
we all bet,we all play.

Life
Bt: Tom Wright
2000
Lord,
I find that life, with all It's daily unseen snares,
is analogous to snow boarding haphazardly down a pine covered incline.
My skill and adroitness are never adequate
for these obstacles that lie in wait.
It is only through my faith in Jesus, whose tracks I'll follow,
that I have hope of reaching the desired finish.

It's All In
" The Anchor "
By Tom Wright
8/1/00
For so long,
many travel iniquitous waters under billowed sails.
Tumultuous waves are ever present,
and they take on water.
Many, journey into the corners of each day's unfamiliar,
desirous of a calm sea while posing the question,
does hope exist?
Are there no untroubled harbors from the anxieties of life?
What must they do to keep their vessel upright
and not adrift?
The answer is quite apparent and lies in The Anchor,
rather than in our adroitness.
Like another Jonah, our life must be the offering.

Something about your eyes, make me smile
Something about your lips, makes men swoo and hiss

We slum dwellers strive through arduous thistles of hardship
We tough it out through the mere adroitness of apprenticeship
We writhe morosely, carrying the world over our shoulders
But we tussle toughly the travails like soldiers
We're the slaves that bolster the aplomb of the upper crust
The hapless mendicants whose ascendancy the haves must thrust
The loyal ignoramuses that politicians use for their puissances
The impoverished natives the government uses to seek aid for its juissances
The kooky denizens that researchers scrutinate as a case study
The inane old guard whom the civilized take as nerdy
We sleep like foiled wolves and wake like champion lions
We carouse in our wobbly shanties like they're our Zions
We wade through the filthy excrement as our daily tracks
These afflict no more, for we've in vain raised our flacks
We accept to be the encumbrances the society discard to roaming sellers
But we know behind the hurdles what we dream, we slum dwellers

Despondency stares in the face
Dejection echoes all around
The quietness of the night comes in a tight embrace
Though silent in nature, still largely audible
The roaches mock loudly
Their bellies rocking with laughter
Like humans they converse
The mice converge, their adroitness they exhibit
Erstwhile silent walls blink many times
And with their hands they write
Loneliness announces its arrival
Playing its tune loudly in harmony with others
Fear, most often times, is its backup
Sleep, then silently creeps on board
Its arrival unannounced
The show it totally steals
Ah! Alas there is a companion in sleep

Mirror, tell me what you see
When you laugh at me,
Mirror, tell me you cry for me
When you laugh at me.
Darkness eclipses even the brightest dawns,
For these flames are dreams that once I had drawn,
Reasons fail to have me comprehend
What at this opportunistic hour do I intend.
This cancer of mine finds its cure in death,
Death merely of mind, and not of breath
For I hold the key to the realisation of dreams
But know not why so perished I still seem.
Tell me mirror, why do you have me be
Why all you do is laugh at me,
Mirror, tell me you cry for me
When you laugh at me.
Hours go by, still lost in you my hollowness,
Seeking a way out of all my profound adroitness,
For they will aid my efforts through,
But I keep lamenting what’s not even true.
Now I realise it’s you who directs the show,
But act only too ignorant, don’t you my alter ego
Tell me you pity my worthless brilliance,
When you sadistically enjoy your rule over my conscience,
Mirror, tell me you cry for me
When you laugh at me.
