When I feel worried,
Without delay I open
Jan's poetry page
She makes me laugh out loud for
she is the limerick queen

Summer Memories

summer memories

evening walks along the sand

sound of waves crashing

moonlight upon the water

we stop long enough to kiss...

My child, I cry for thee-a lament

(For my first child, who could not make it to this world) Your motion I feel Oblivious of the pain My son I rejoiced If only you were with me For you I mourn in regret ©Nadiya (11 Feb '15)

Bloody Mary

Eight hundred meters
Demanding in all aspects
Race with a high toll
Epitome of extremes
Coach called her Bloody Mary

Tanka at the sportsmens bar

coloured bottles bob
to my eyes these are gemstones
light explodes in spumes
a sour flood warms my belly
in the wave of each fresh draught

drinking rainbows
I am resting the dragon
on wet glass
ice rocks crackle
day blends into night

first or last dog watch?
sitting at this bar – my pew
far away at sea
ship ahoy! Nubile sirens
eight bells ringing between decks

Four Years Later

Dear American,
The miles remained untamed in
A world where x isn't
Love. Broken strings and emptied
Ink couldn't muster a goodbye.

Who am I if not

Who am I if not,
Greeting sunsets with a smile
Dazed by the night sky
Making dreamlike plans for life,
Who am I if not with you

Diary Of A Girl

Els are for loves
Lost count-of: every "ex" and
"Oh" there to show whom
I kissed as I exed them out,
While others left me in awe.

Art - Olaf Wieghorst

My Favorite Artist

Native Indians,
   Wild horses on gold prairies,
      Sprawled desert landscapes:
The 'Dean of Western Painters',
Olaf Wieghorst captured them.

Mystical beauty
    Springs forth on sunny highlights
      Splashed against dark earth.
Grand images of nature,
Come to life with each brush stroke.

Rugged western scenes
Filled with life and earth's splendor
      Stir deep emotion.
Favored most: 'Dead Cottonwood'
And 'Navajo Madonna'

Swinging on a Star

“William Shakespeare”
Brilliance illuminates
Heaven’s brightest star
Unclouded wit still sparkling
Words twinkling from lovers’ tongues

Thelonious Monk

A trib to the realest dreamer

Walking the straight line
Hellbound, gunning for heaven
Military mind
By shadows can't be worried
Else your dreams will be buried
