There once was a driver from Uber
Who really only owned a scooter
So when it rained
His passengers complained
So now he has no more commuters

Couldn't let a St Paddy's day go by without a wee limerick!!

The Rain In Spain

The rain in Spain has nothing on us Seems our annual rainfall, their records we'll bust A charming thought We'll need a yacht To get the market for some salami and stuff © Jack Ellison 2015

I Am So Bored With Rain

I'm so listless with the rain
for the dreams I cannot attain
trapped within this dwelling
a story not worth telling
a notion that perhaps "I'm insane"

puddle upon puddle does flood
as the hill side turns to mud
this wound trapped within
a song of doom once again
for now a dreary river of blood

behind the window I gaze
at muted sight in a haze
will inspiration arrive
in sunbeams that contrive
or will my life drown in a maze

Gimme Shelter

A strong hurricane blows across the beach

My umbrella turns inside-out; I screech!

     Broadcasting from a cell phone

Rain pelts and there’s no tone

For the first time I’m at a loss for speech

Freezing Rain

FREEZING RAIN, is there anything worse Than driving slick highways, it's surely a curse Danger is great Time we must take To make sure we arrive to write another verse

Rain In Spain

                    Rain In Spain

A hopeful explorer went to Spain
To see the rain on the plain.
               But most of the rain
               Is found in a drain,
He won't be going to Spain, again.

Downer Days

Looked outside, it's quite dark and rainy These downer days drive me quite insane-y A sunshine lover O'er the ground I hover Hard to hover with a rain soaked aeroplane-y

Rain, Rain Go Away

This year has been lacking in summer sun.
No kids romping on beaches having fun.
Its done nothing but rain,
This weather's a big pain.
Our transition to rain forest's begun.

First Rain

Finally the rain has started

After the flowers have departed.

Two months of sunshine,

Though hot and sublime,

Has left the garden broken hearted.

My Galoshes

My galoshes were covered in rain, I thought, “oh my word! This is a pain!” But my shoes were found dry, so I never did cry, soggy water they seemed to retain. Before I got home I saw the mess, I lifted my foot and felt distress. Doggie doodoo on it, I did throw a great fit, my life can't expect anything less! So I hurried and ran to the hose, I thought, “oh, thank God the wife doesn’t know!” She’d kick me to the curb, my life is so absurd, “why can’t she just go with the darn flow!” I walked into the house unaware, I wondered if Theresa was there. She caught me red-handed, there the doo-doo landed, WHAT??? My galoshes had a deep tear! My Shoes Contest Sponsor: Lewis Raynes Syllable count: 9-9-6-6-9 Date Written: August 25, 2016

The Rain Came

After months of drought the rain came
Green grass and dry earth to reclaim
Then it came with a flood
Everything turned to mud
The barn floated away, what a shame!

I know, we gotta have rain too

What I’ve got against the rain is not the drippy wet,
because it hasn't melted me, well, at least not yet.
It’s those clouds!
Gloomy shrouds.
I’d rather soak up sunshine and turn it into sweat.

The Drought

Too many forest fires along the main,
fire's leaving blackened nature stain,
burning leaves and debris,
flames awry have to flee,
nature once again too deprived of rain.

It’s easy to gripe and complain
When it seems there’s abundance of rain
But superfluous showers
Give way to sweet flowers
And loveliest hues of terrain.
