1st place in the contest

~ April smells as spring ... but you never know what you'll get - don't judge yesterday ~ quote by poet A snapshot of yesterday As a hawk, I chased the howling wind it left no trace Everyone knows that birds do not sing against the wind Yesterday I saw a glimpse of hope Oaks mouse ears newborn and trembling Leafless vines, fresh buds appear The rhythm of the heartbeat with knowledge and patience Yesterdays leftovers was as most yesterdays But gradually things become clearer When spring comes near, sunshine so bright and warm green grass with golden daffodils Across time and place yesterdays melancholy flew away with a gentle breeze

Dear Anne-Lise, your poem wonderfully shows the unpredictability of life. It beautifully captures the essence of April's whimsical nature and the importance of not dwelling on the past. I loved how your words evoke a sense of renewal, hope, and welcome each day with open arms. Through your words, I'm inspired to cherish the beauty of the present moment. This is a touching reflection. Blessings, Daniel.

"yesterdays melancholy flew away with a gentle breeze" -- Love it! I generally find, that depression lifts around the 4th day. Don't ask me why...no rhyme nor reason. Blossoming read. Thank you.
