PLACED SECOND
Why am I here? What’s the be all and end all of life?
A million-dollar question is hurled on me.
I have pondered over this question many a time.
I am stuck fast in this question like my feet,
Lodged in a slushy patch of mud which on pulled hard,
The earth perversely refuses to free itself.
“The greatest gift to man by God is our dear life.
Embrace it, celebrate it, and live every moment.
Don’t die before your death,”- This I always hear, but how?
We work, we make money, and splurge on luxury.
Is that just enough? Oh, Never!
Know, we are on an eternal quest,
After the purpose and meaning of life.
Life is neither an accident nor a coincidence.
When I juggle with the question why we are here,
I am made to think…. rather introspect,
That there is no merit in just living and dying.
But in in rising up and acting in the living present
We have to go out, meet people who are sad,
And enjoy the beauty of shared moments.
When we help others, it thrills the giver and taker.
By becoming a sponge which can absorb all negativity
We get a rare feeling of joy and contentment
Wipe a tear, light a smile, speak a kind word.
Be one who can emit positive vibes all around
When we realize we have changed someone’s life,
And because of us someone didn’t give up,
It is the day, the great day, we have begun to live!
Be grateful for what we have,
And we’ll end up having more than we ever craved.
Be kind to oneself and love yourself,
Happiness is all around us and about us!
