To a Poet Unknown
To a Poet Unknown
I see your flag from your own native land
And I long to sail and land on your sand,
Your poetry speaks to my wand’ring heart,
Imagined vision, though we are apart.
Your lines so tender, sincere, spoken well,
To read and read again, under your spell,
Some day will you cross the ocean to me,
And face to face, we will share openly.
We hear the same song, though not the same kind,
You’ll speak a poem to me; I’ll give you mine,
Somehow though afar, we bear the same soul
I will look for your flag in my time zone.
And someday when my desk needs sorting out,
My kin will find stacks of loving printouts.
