Notes About The Poem

The Scarecrow Speaks

I saw a tattered dark useless scarecrow, in a large wheat field, where all flying birds seemed to enjoy, resting on tattered arms. Except children who seemed to greatly fear. But once at night, I thought I saw it move, scared the guts out of my soul as I screamed. ”What are you screaming for, you wake the birds.” Did I hear right? I felt fear, I ran fast.

Your screams jolted the scare crow, Victor, and he was just doing his job, scared the gazibees out of you! But there is more... the scare crow has necromantic powers. Boo! Brilliant, gave me chills! I like the shaped poem too.

Love the image; yep, scarecrows are scare sight to the crows...only the farmer knows the truth, not one with tooth, nor a tongue and real lung...yet the scarecrow, due to the sophisticated miracle of electronics, hauntingly spoke and spookingly sung.

What a scary thing to happen. At least this was a considerate one who had some compassion for the birds. Another great form dear Victor, and the formatting is spot on...Hugs
