O moon, the blood-rose pearl of my aching soul, the ghostly seer of hourglass woes ~ heed these wistful words ~ forgive the dreadful quivers between cacophonous quiescence, tremors within lungs of lament, spears of piercing p a i n ... Read through deep obsidian eyes of empathy; I remain not blind, but blurred and bruised in fear of the valley of violence. I kneel upon the Sahara of sorrow, pleading on the cusp of weathered wounds, breathing macabre runes entombed in the desert of rain and ruins, recalling calligraphies scripted with tanzanite tears on the trembling towers of torment ~ as mind exhales, perplexed and possessed c o n s u m e d with bullet-struck blossoms, flowers weeping in sync with searing streams of desolation. While silent spectators remain unaware of the heavens mourning, for the world is bleeding; the earth lies scarred and cursed, the sky is charred with innocent cries, the wind drizzles funeral thorns upon the spine of dying dunes ~ walking through reality that screams of amplified brutality, echoing skeletal stillness stitched to roots of agony, crocheted with crystalline strands of distressed supplication. But will peace defeat the scorching storms of blinding thunder, and forgiveness unveil an onyx blanket sewn with star-ridden serenity, smothering ticking grains of uncertainty? Perhaps hope still glows ~ erasing nightmares, thawing frozen heartbeats into throbbing blues ~ dreams of black dahlias drifting beneath dulcet dawns, oblivious to the haze of hate. Reptilian thrones, laden with venom, coiled crowns, ruling the grieving globe with daggers dipped in deceit, weaponizing the weary with fingers forged like poisoned blades of trickery ~ as if we, the poets, will speak not the truth in metaphors and rhymes, in cryptic cadence … So let the shadows of sinister cerulean follow my name, I, an amateur silhouette scribbling with flawed ink a hymn to the hope that still thrives, like fragments of fortitude unfurling a nocturnal potion handcrafted with love ~ regal and resilient against a world carrying the weight of snakes and bones, of blisters and screams of c o l l a p s e d humanity...

Reminds of Dylan Thomas. Fight fight against the dying of the light. You juxtapose the venom the world gives with the poetry of your breath. Keep breathing, keep writing. Sublime

Sadly we are part of a 'collapsed humanity' where the earth lies scarred, charred, and cursed. Man lives under the threat of the poisoned daggers of trickery. Scorching storms and blinding thunders greatly terrorize our existence. But many remain as silent spectators not knowing what an apocalypse is waiting for humanity. But can cruelty beat peace for ever? Never! Let hope govern our hearts, though the world is bleeding now. The poet is well aware of the danger we are in and is thrown into the Sahara of sorrow. Even amid such catastrophic happening, she sees a ray of hope. Such a moving and heartfelt lament. Congratulations dear Empress on your well deserved trophy win.

"I kneel upon the Sahara of sorrow, pleading on the cusp of weathered wounds," -- Outstanding poetry! "c o n s u m e d with bullet-struck blossoms, flowers weeping in sync with searing streams of desolation." -- Very powerful imagery! You know, behind every arrow is a righteous heart, each believing in their own cause...and not God's! I hope your fine words do not fall on just ears -- with no beyond...open...but just ears. Really, war has few faces...if there were more, there would be far less numbers. Faces, with hearts and families. I get it, though -- well done. Blessings my friend.

This is such a deeply heartfelt and soul-moving poem, dear Ink! War faces are indeed a reflection of collapsed humanity, just you've so impeccably described in these poignant words here... What is truth, remains hidden in the shadow, of those wounds that speak louder than any history. I could feel so much whilst reading these aching lines "Read through deep obsidian eyes of empathy; I remain not blind, but blurred and bruised" Sigh, if only there was a glimmer of hope in those eyes, that saw the falling of innocent lives... As I read and re read your words, I'm astounded by how meticulously you've woven melancholic emotions here and carved those brutal ruins of sentiments, in such a genius manner. "as if we, the poets, will speak not the truth in metaphors and rhymes" just wow...I also love that questioning part so much too! Absolutely, this poem is worthy of all the accolades and I'm immensely happy that you received the beautiful trophy for this!!!

For some reason, Sahara of sorrows really stood out to me although there are SO many other great examples here if imagery united with amazing assonance and alliteration. I am sure this will be another high place for you, Ink.

Dearest Empress, Reading your poem, I felt every letter, word, line, stanza and hope in your words. You reached into the heart of darkness and still managed to find a pulse of beauty and truth. Oh, the pain, suffering, courage, and your longing for something softer in this world. Your honesty really touched me. We are not alone in feeling lost or overwhelmed. I'm truly grateful for your friendship and your light, and together we will make change. Because of that, I give this a huge peaceful fav. Summer Blessings, My Dear Empress, Daniel

Unfortunately Ink, when it comes to war, mankind never seems to learn anything from history, except how to become more efficient killing machines, your powerful Ekphrasis echoes Dali’s painting as a warning to humanity, about the dangers of going down the road of war, your words offer poetic hope, rather than mere aspiration, No delusion here, you know exactly what is going on around you, without pointing the finger at anyone in particular, just mankind in general, brilliant and a Fave, cheers David
