Should I Return

Should i return to places I once knew the landscape changed, the sky a different hue? Should i return to people I have loved the ones who see me now as one unloved? Should I return and pick the thread once more to try to weave the rhymes of times before? Should i return when pain is all I feel for friendships strong are fading and unreal? Should i return, investing love and time and try to resurrect poetic prime? Should I return and share again my heart and hope the feelings bridge the times apart? You know the answer, speak it clear to me Your "Yes" will bring the bloom to poetry! Eileen Manassian

Those last two lines are incredibly endearing, Eileen. Sometimes the reassurance of another, even if it is just a word or gesture can make the difference between a bloom or a wither. You inspire me. Eileen, I have always enjoyed your unique perspective from eyes on the ground in a land quite different from my Minnesota home! maple syrup is being tapped in sugarbushes all around me, songbirds are venturing out for minutes a day, and wildflowers are poised to explode, peace be upon you! jim

Yes, it is. You are right, though. Sometimes going back is is impossible....that's why we have poetry.

Eileen, time goes so fast. I feel like I blink my eyes, and someone from Soup has disappeared. Maybe sometimes they reappear. Other times not. But I am so glad to know YOU are back. Eileen, I fell into the same trap, wondering where my muse had gone. Turned out it was trying to get through but I was so busy looking for it I ignored it. When I was in Namibia I first saw the Darkling Beetle. It sits still and collects water droplets from the morning mist. That's how you do it. Nice write! Viv x
