There is a science to silence Sometimes it's sweet and soft like dipping strawberries in chocolate. When you are like a rock in solitude, striving for spiritual consciousness. When wounds bleed onto white fabric, despite washing, still bitter and stubborn. Existing like an ancient solitary tree in a field, surrounded by cow**** and broken branches. Motionless like a soggy pillow at 3am, with speechless tears reflected in poems. Predictable like a scared fly on a cobweb, trapped and awaiting its forthcoming fate. Like a cemetery of haunting photographs, urns and coffins unable to provide answers.

SO, this is one of those poems to ponder and re-read many times. The science of silence sometimes "sweet," bleeding, motionless, predictable, striving. What a stunning vision of silence. But, I have to say your last couplet left me breathless in its striking imagery, a true punctuation point. Amazing images wrapped in every possible emotion. This is a true piece of poetic artistry. Thank you for this gift. Blessings!

Silence truly is a beautiful place. Just look at the way it feels when snow erases the landscape, leaving it awash in white - innocent and wonderous. Silence is so much more. Love this and love to you. God bless you, too.

Hello SO. I like metaphors that draw such vivid images. You have included many in this poem and they painted mental images in my head. I think my favorite is the scared fly on the cobweb. What a great image. Well done. ZIM

"Motionless as a soggy pillow at 3am." Why is it always soggy at 3? Smile. I love it silent.
