Roses Aware

By our back door Crying out! Roses! Roses! Roses! Big red ones A little white And two pink squirts Nearly buried in the jumble Blame it on the winter Blame it on spring rains The maples and the oaks are taking over Blame it on the rake A rusty old rake That stood idle in the fall Don’t blame it on the gardner Who loves to study nature Don’t change a thing! Don’t clip! Don’t pull! Don’t DIG! Stand off now The roses have a witness

(continued from below)Boy, it sure caused a huge fight between us but I could not stand paying a huge payment each month on a motorcycle that never got to be ridden for over two years. (I just wish I'd taken my time. I am not crazy about the kia, like I was with my other cars, dang it!) but at least it looks modern, is safe, and has an awesome ten year warranty!

Just revisiting this darling one, DAver. And about my car. the 54,000 miles , each ten thousand represnted a year of human life. haha. So at that point in time when I wrote the poem, my car was older than I am. Today she is 100,000 miles, or a 100 years old and I've traded her in (along with Joe's Harley) on a brand new Kia. You silly goose! I wondered about that. Forever ago someone started a poetry game after you were tagged in a poem you picked someone to tag and wrote them a tribute funny or serious. I never knew if you thought it silly or stupid. Anyway I gotcha kiddo. Hope your eyes are seeing clear as an eagle. loveudo,
