Night Bird

I hear the night bird lift his soft lament to the clouded sky When next the rays of sun warm his bower hidden in the thorn bush He must live his day and keep his sad song for the shadows

It sounds like you may be feeling sad today Barbara. I hope the night bird sings a more cheerful song this evening. There's a full moon tonight. Maybe that will inspire him. Best to you, Diane

Perhaps this is an owl or a nightingale, LNC? Still, I think you are writing from your heart in this wonderful sijo. Great work, my friend! It was so nice talking to you today. If you wrote this for a contest, it's sure to be a winner. You have been keeping your son in the shadows for a while; please live each day to the fullest. Love, Carolyn
