Heartbreak Girl Heartbroken Woman ...

(swap quatrain form) "So it’s true, when all is said and done, grief is the price we pay for love.” E.A. Bucchianeri, Brushstrokes of a Gadfly Bereft am I now that you’ve gone. You took the sunshine from my dawn and star-shine from the midnight sky. Now that you’ve gone, bereft am I. Where heart once was, there’s now a stone. Away from me all dreams have flown. All hope’s abandoned me because there’s now a stone where heart once was. My sweet relief- my joy you stole. How cruel has become your soul to leave me nothing but this grief. My joy you stole – my sweet relief. Each empty night, I lie in bed and think of all that went unsaid. How could you leave me with this plight? I lie in bed each empty night. My nights stretch long when I can’t sleep. Sometimes I picture you and weep. Oh, hear my heartbroken love song. When I can’t sleep, my nights stretch long.

And, sadly, even if the mind eventually understands, what went wrong...the heart never will.... Excellent writing my friend. Good luck in contest.
