My First Year On Poetry Soup

I thought I should take a moment or two, to thank Poetry Soup for all they do. My mind’s like a cauldron of swirling stew, it’s filled with thoughts I want to share with you. It was a year ago I found this site, a place where a poet can freely write. I read the poems that others had written, and with this site I was easily smitten. I’ve shared my thoughts through my poetry, and after this year you’ve accepted me. I paid up front for the sweet “Lifetime” deal, at first, I thought it too good to be real. A poem can be Poem of the Day or Week, a small little goal we all can seek. Opportunities like blogs or contest, or just sit down and write your very best. Reading and commenting will win you friends, soup mail to others so everyone wins. Over three-hundred poems, posted this year, and so many comments offered sincere. I’m thankful I found this place with friends dear, so until I die, I’ll always be here.

I have been upset by insomnia, power outages, etc. we have the National Guard evacuating some cities. Lake Tahoe, not far from me, is receiving tons of snow. This is exactly how I feel. I too have completed one year on POetry Soup. This is so heartfelt and I feel these words have come from me. Yes, I noticed at the end of last year that we started within a week or two of each other. It's been a great year of growth and opportunity for our poetry here on Poetry Soup. I'm sure glad we've become friends and read and comment on each others poetry, Valsa. I understand when life gets in the way of what we'd like to do here on Poetry Soup, it happens to me too. Hi Bill, this coming December it will be a year for me with Soup. Your poem, reminded me of the early days when I posted a couple of poems I had written and never showed anyone. It was a thrill to be able to have others read them. The biggest thrill now is reading others incredible poems, such as yours.
