Lonely Plight

created not by God but man harsh ridicule he endured abhorring the mere site of him people pursued a “monster” in perception only carrying torches and weapons angst festered within a tormented heart sentenced to a life of agonizing loneliness without committing a crime abandoned by a thoughtless creator his arduous trek to find him began dwelling in caves, crying hiding his hideous appearance from a bitter world that rejected him just one simple hope had he find a companion to share affection with prayers unanswered suicide his only choice to escape solitude broken-hearted, he faced demise in a conflagration upon the northland’s glacial ice cold as society’s treatment, hot as the fury in his heart

I love this, Carolyn. I can see them, smell them all. I remember the morning glories and four o'clocks in my Grandma's garden. You have brought this heartwarming memory to mind. Thank you. Wonderful haiku. Congratulations. Love, Deb

Beautiful, Carolyn. I haven't been able to do this string of Haiku yet. Very difficult to do well, but you have done it beautifully. Lainie

oh, forgot to say: I said Abe was a babe for the clerihew effect! To me, he WAS a babe! .ahha. even though he once said of himself: "People say I am two faced. But if I were, then why would I be wearing this one!" He was so clever.

smile -- and this I have found often is what makes poetry so fascinatingly wonderful for, many times it can be as an abstracts painting left open for varied interpretations and, "Your Beauty," at least once more for myself did bring a kaleidoscope of prisms to set before my sight -- and for this of course, but another fave to be collected amongst a gallery now growing amid these, such treasures, do they hold -- beautiful canvas, my dear -- love, Always, christopher

smile -- i read this somewhat compelling it seemed verse my dear, "Beautiful & Precious, Carolyn Devonshire" ~ twice and it somehow held these metaphores and symblances amid the canvas of profound although, my perceptions at least within one light could be completely off center which in turn, paints this amazing poe in the colours of excellence i would thus so say, my dear -- cont:)
